Doom Pixie Greta Thunberg Detained for Blocking Roads at the Hague

Greta Thunberg, aka the Doom Pixie, is back in the news.  This latest incident was at The Hague, where Miss Thunberg and some fellow protesters decided to block roads leading to a railway station, citing their concern over a "planetary emergency."  The Doom Pixie was detained - twice.  [...]

I am not a democrat though? At any rate that has no bearing paying our taxes and on receiving a refund, which is the question that was asked as the subject of this thread. I know many republicans that also received refunds and have always received them.

I got refunds some time ago. The end game result should be not to owe or be due a refund.

However I overpayed a bit so did get a refund

Cicada invasion:  Trillions of noisy flying insects to swarm US for first time in 221 years

Billions, if not trillions, of two groups of noisy flying insects are expected to emerge from the underground in 17 U.S. states in April in a rare natural phenomenon not seen since 1803.

The insects, known as cicadas, are set to spring up and engage in a frantic mating frenzy lasting several weeks before they will all eventually die near trees.  [...]

Interesting analogy.. though I would argue comparable only if asset/ your car is not sold to lender . Heck car lenders are happy to finance ANYONE ( literally) …At astronomical interest rates .

But today he cashed in very bigly .. as stock soared to the moon. Market freedom…what other IPO that posted losses of 50 million in first 9 months of 2023 could rally like that.
Congrats to all of you who got a piece of the action

Not most but some.  Toyota usually will not finance a Bouge. Car industry word for a person with bad credit. Short for Bogus.

Now Stellantis (Chrysler for the most part). They will put a Challenger, Charger or 300 all day long on the road.. Santander is a well known bank that will put a person with bad credit in a ride. Usually fees to the dealers etc. You see all these guys running around in Chargers and Challengers.. More than likely sub 600 score. Not all but many

Check this out. We had an online buyer fly in to GA from Oklahoma to buy a used Chrysler 200.  I kid you not.

Boy what you talking about.  Most guys are like, oh well it did not work out no hard feeling.  They want to ruin you and destroy your life. I could tell a great story of how it back fired but its too much typing. I may later. Mt ex ranted and raved and threatened to drag me to court over something and it bit her in the buttocks. Best guy wins story ever

Diamond Is About to Be Dethroned As the Hardest Material Ever

Diamonds are the hardest substance on Earth — but on other planets, the jury is still out.  That's because for some 40 years, scientists have theorized that diamond can squeeze into an even harder mineral known as an eight-atom body-centered cubic, or BC8.  If true, this ultra-dense form of carbon would likely be found on carbon-rich exoplanets and would have both a higher compressive strength and thermal conductivity than diamond.

Simply put, its discovery could be a game changer for a variety of industries, and now scientists from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and the University of South Florida (USF) using the Frontier supercomputer have found a possible pathway toward creating BC8.  The results of the study were published in The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters.  [...]

This brings back memories of the 55-mph speed limit.  If that's resumed today, every trucker will run afoul of service hours or have to take 1.5 days to complete their routes, thus causing supply-chain problems, wreaking havoc with truckers' pay, and damaging the economy.  Does anyone here think that the leftists have thought about any of this?

Probably more pertinent today are calls to "charge by miles driven."

I recall getting a ticket in my new Red Trans Am in Laurens county GA going 66 on I-16 West Bound(during the 55mps speed limit nonsense) I  had just come from a flight physical  at Hunter Army Airfield and was in My Class A's 1st LT Army uniform. I thought he might give me a break..  No way. I think he enjoyed sticking it to me. Probably a former enlisted man who despised a young flashy LT in a sports car. Anyway I made a few phone calls and got it taken care of so no harm no foul. What year was that? Probably 80 something.
