Before misleading people or putting things out there, get your facts right!!! If you get cheated on by a citizen, he/she is called a cheater but if he/she is from another country, they are using you. I’m not exonerating anyone but don’t forget cheating knows no geography.

I was waiting for you to admit to this. Embassies don;t accuse folk of getting married. I have seen this happen too many times and have yet to see anyone out of Nigeria get their Visa. Most get a misrep Ban, (5 and I have seen 10 year ban)
As Puskbrk advise get a immigration lawyer how to play this. To late to state bachelorhood fro something 11 years ago. They know in Nigeria anyone will attest to anything.

    Seek counsel ASAP. Good luck.

Good day so If your from Nigeria you can prove that you were eligible for marriage by seeking your Bachelorhood Certificate which has to be notarized by the courts. If your parents are still alive please take them along with you when you go. If you have your certified birth cert and license that would be helpful.  My husband had to have this form before we were even married in Ikeja. Hope this is helpful .

While you were ill advised, you choose to lie about being married.  That was you that lied at the interview.  Now, that ghost is coming back to haunt you.

The problem is that most people thinks it's okay to lie to the US Embassy because visas are like a lottery.  Luck.  Nevermind that the US has computer databases and keeps all records.  Now you have a record where you applied for a visitor visa and swore that you were married.  Now you want the US Embassy to believe that you are truthful about never being married.  They should believe you now?  Why?

Once you are tagged as a liar, it makes it so impossible for them to trust you.

If a person lies to you, then later tells you a different story and said he's not lying, would you instantly believe him?  Or are you more likely to dismiss him?  That's what the CO is doing to you.  Dismissing you because you are a known liar - you admitted that you lied on the visitor visa application and at that interview.  Now you want them to believe you and trust you?

    Good luck.

It's kind of the old saying, "You can't prove a negative."  In some cases, you actually CAN, but I have no clue how to do so in THIS case.  Lies have consequences, some of which are delayed.  Good luck to you.  This is not a do it yourself kind of thing.  Get a qualified, highly recommended, immigration lawyer's help.

There are SOME cultures that simply ignore lies, if the liar has even a tiny "reason" for lying.  US Immigration is NOT one of those "cultures".

Sorry about the deceased. Just request for an affidavit from the mother of the child stating she was never married to you & her current status with her fiancé of husband. It will do! You can also ask her family to do one extra one for you. All the best!

Congratulations though you need to start preparing your mind for another agonizing wait between NVC and consulate to provide an interview date. The wait won’t be up to the USCIS wait but seem more frustrating. Good luck to us all.

I am 26 years older then my Nigerian husband and age never was asked about. But of course I put together one heck of a petition package at USCIS added more evidence and my plus was I lived their with him 6 months and there for the interview.

They asked the usual questions. when we last saw each other, what does he plan to do when in US (he did write a review April 28th 2016).

It's all about your evidence and what information they may have found out about your both. Your past filings etc.

You need to be prepared and know your spouse which I would think at this point you can answer all questions about them whether it's their work, what car they drive the color of their house. What's their siblings name.

Go through the interview reviews for Nigeria and get a feel for what others can attest to. But basically know your spouse and know how to convey your words and be confident about what you say.

Interviews have been denied over people not being able to answer basic simple questions about their spouse.
