Hi everyone!
We have our GC interview on June 28th, yay way sooner than expected, only about 2 months after sending our AOS stuff. I did my medical back in Germany in December, so as far as I understand don't need to re-do it, since it's been less than a year. I have however been reading about people sending in form DS-3025 with their AOS package or bringing it to the interview. I don't have a DS-3025! The doctor in Germany never gave me one. Does anyone else have that problem? Apparently, they didn't care too much since I still got invited for the interview but I'm wondering if they are expecting me to bring it to the interview. Any help is much appreciated!!

Was wurdet ihr so gefragt?

So I've been working on the DS 160 for the last few days and been wondering why for me the page about my previous work history and my education never popped up... So all of the sudden earlier today when I logged in the page popped up and I filled in some information about previous jobs and my University degrees. However, I wasn't done and went back to work on it right now and it has disappeared again! Even when I go to the "review" section in the very end, the information about my education and employment history doesn't show.
Can I go ahead and submit it without it showing if it lets me or does anyone know any tricks to make this frustrating website work better? Any help is much appreciated 🙂

I had my visa interview in the consulate in Frankfurt on monday and will receive my passport with the issued visa in it tomorrow. It took them a total of five days to interview me, print a visa into my passport and get the passport to me.
I will most likely enter the US in the next two weeks, where I will marry my fiance and then adjust status.
Good luck everyone!Congrats!! I'm from Germany too, with very similar NOA1 and NOA2 dates (NOA1 March 26th and NOA2 Nov 5th are ours) but unfortunately we are still "at nvc", even though we got our case number almost 2 weeks ago now. I was just wondering how long it took you from when NVC sent your case to Frankfurt until you received P3 and how long it took you then to get the appointment in Frankfurt? Might help me estimate my timeline
Thanks for any info!!

Is anyone's case still at NVC? I got my case number last Friday but my case is still at NVC so I guess I missed this week's shipping
Yup, ours is as well and our case number was even assigned last week tuesday already, so a whole week before the batch got shipped

I was hopeful my package would be on this shipment too, but no such luck. At least ours will (should) be on the next one for sure! 🤞
We have the same NOA1 and very similar timelines, except we never got an RFE, just had a really long wait for NOA2... Guess now a longer than usual wait for NVC as well. We actually called today and asked why it didn't get shipped, but got the standard answers, can't be predicted, might take 8 weeks, etc. Seemed weird we got our case number a whole week before shipment and still didn't make it... Oh well, really hoping for the next shipment for us and all of you guys still waiting 🤞

Visa Payment System information:
There is indeed a cash pay option but i wanted to do it online so i clicked on the "provide feedback" option and explained my situation and they said to wait 24 hours as well! Here is what they said about the cards: "In addition, please note that our payment gateway is set-up to process the following branded cards:
1. VISA Debit
2. VISA Electron
3. MasterCard Debit
4. Maestro
Just because a card is branded with VISA/MasterCard does not automatically mean it is a debit card. Many of the refusals we have seen are V/MC branded Credit Cards which we never accept.
In addition, there are a number of domestic debit card schemes that are available in the region. Each of these card schemes must have the following features to be accepted online:
1. Co-branded with VISA/MasterCard(Maestro) – i.e. they must have one of these logos on the card.
2. Contain a CVV number (this is the three digit number on the back of the card).
If they do not have both these features, they will not be accepted. "
Awesome, thank you so much @Greenbaum

Joining this thread, as we finally got approved on Nov 5, yay!!! After 224 stressful days of waiting - we had a slow officer apparently 😆 So we've already been working on getting some documents togther for the interview, like police certificate, photos and more. I was wondering if it's save at this point to schedule the medical? I did not want to schedule before NOA2, because I didn't want it to expire, but at this point things should move more quickly, right? I was also wondering if my fiance will be allowed to come into the interview with me in Frankfurt, Germany? Seems like that would be the best proof of our ongoing relationship anyways 😉 Does anyone happen to have a copy of the German P3? It would be nice to read through it already to make sure I'm 100% prepared. I'm really hoping to fly over with my fiance in early February, hope that is realistic!
Thanks so much everyone, for the help and support on here!!

We finally got approved after 225 days of waiting!!! I'm so happy I still can't even believe it. We started an online inquiry right when the uscis website processing timetable said we could, despite a lady on the phone telling us we would have to wait the full 7,5 months a couple days before. 3 days after the online inquiry we got an email (on a Saturday, which was weird), saying we should expect to hear something within the next 45 days. Just a couple days later now the old website says we are approved. I wanted to share this with everyone still waiting, as I felt like filing the online inquiry might have helped, even though we were told on the phone to wait another 2 weeks. Crossing my fingers for everyone else that is still waiting. Hopefully you will all hear soon, don't lose hope!

So since we still haven't heard anything at all we decided to call USCIS on Friday (NOA1 March 26th). Well, as we expected we just got the standard answer of still being "within normal processing times" and that we're having to wait until 7,5 months have passed to start the inquiry. We will try the online inquiry on Tuesday anyways, as that is the date that we can start the inquiry according to the USCIS website processing times. I'm so frustrated at this point. Why is the website stating a different date for inquiry than they will tell you on the phone and why are May filers being processed now and we're being left behind? I used the tools from VJ to estimate our NOA2 date and it was way off, we should've long received our NOA2.
Does anyone know if it makes a difference to do the online inquiry vs just calling them, do both generally have the same outcome?
Here is to hoping that next week will be the week for all remaining March filers, if there are any left besides us 😩

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let the few of you that are still waiting know that we are still waiting also. Our NOA1 date is March 26th, so we've been waiting for 209 days now. About to go crazy seeing all those late April filers getting approved and here we are still waiting. Hopefully next week is the week for all remaining March filers!!!

Name change after marriage between German and US citizen
in Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)
Posted
Hi everyone, I have the same problem. I took my husbands last name and made my maiden name my middle name. Probably should have done some research beforehand as well but I am now finding out that I can't have a middle name in Germany. I am now debating to just go with having a different name in Germany than in the US. I am planning to continue living in the US but want to make sure it wouldn't have any negative effects having different names. The only "problem" I can come up with is that international travel could be confusing, as my name in my German passport will be different from my name on the green card. However, I can travel with a copy of my marriage certificate, which I have done before and it didn't seem like a problem at all. Has anyone done this or knows if this is something you can do long term?
