  1. Question regarding my wife’s i765: Yesterday the status changed to “card being produced” but today it switched to “case reopened.” Online it days please wait for further instruction by mail. Does anyone have experience with something like this? The i131 application still says “case is approved” which makes little sense since we applied for a combo card and they are issued together. Of course the tier 1 officer would not tell me anything other than to try talking to a tier 2 tomorrow. Any ideas or similar experiences?

How about the interviews in Charlotte?? Any ideas??

    https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cty=Charlotte NC&page=1&dfilter=5&topic=Adjustment of Status

You can read reviews here and it seems like they are straightforward and easy as well there. Since I don’t live in that district though, I can’t speak to the wait times there for getting an interview scheduled. I’m not sure. NC isn’t exactly overflowing with immigrants, compared to say LA, NYC, DC, etc so I’d imagine it’s a speedier process than those areas.

all my three friends are from North Carolina and they all received their ead in 2 months and a green card in 3, it seems time to move 😁

Yes, most green card interviews take place in 3-5 months in the Raleigh office and many are approved in the spot. Our lawyer in northern Virginia advised us that it would be 11-13 month’s post-PD of waiting up there so the move certainly helped.  He said the office here is one of the quickest in the country And it has great reviews too! Fingers crossed!

  4. Posting my timeline in the hopes that it May helps others or at least offer some hope:

    AOS PD for 485/765/131: 3/12/19

    Biometrics: 4/19/19

Ready to be scheduled for interview: around 6/16/19

Moved from northern VA to NC (Raleigh office): 7/18/19 filing AR-11 and I-865

    Raised SR regarding EAD: 8/6/19

I-485 File received in Raleigh: 8/10/18

I-485 interview scheduled: 8/13/19 (awaiting date)

    EAD card being produced: 8/14/19

Id be happy to answer any questions anyone may have regarding any of our steps we took. Good luck to all whom are still waiting!

    Hola,

Ours says "In transit", what should the CEAC say when the packet arrives to the US Embassy? How long did it take for your case change from "In transit" to get the embassy? . I know we are from different countries and that vary, but just to get an estimated time frame.

    Our case moved very fast.
    152 days from NOA1 to NOA2
    NOA2 arrived December 7th
NVC email arrived January 8th (A month wait) and shows in transit since Jan 8

Buena suerte!! :)

Appears as though I wasn't a lucky one at about 1.5 weeks from case # assigned to having it ship to out of nvc. (NOA2 12/11)   Greenbaum said we may see some more in transit tomorrow though, so fingers crossed!

Greenbaum:  ttps://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do  -  this (and the other site) still says 'we've received your case', even though NOA2 (only hard copy) and case number at nvc have been assigned (had to call, no info sent).  Is there a similar situation with information not updated online with nvc, or are they better in this sense?  Aka, I'll get the same answer if I call in a cpl days after all have been sent in the last batch?

jschain:  Glad to hear your case is on it's way to the final step!   When you can access interview dates, I'll be curious to hear what is open in Colombia if you could private msg me?

Yes, we were finally sent out yesterday after waiting about 5 weeks, but maybe there will be more today and you will be in there. We will be trying to get an interview as quickly as possible, so I’ll let you know what the availability looks like as soon as we find out. :)

I saw a few ppl that got their case number about the same time I did and theirs went out.  thats why I was concerned.

No worries, if you go to the timeline for K1 fiance visas and arrange it by the "NVC Left", you'll see that most of the people sent out in the last batch had their application received by NVC in late November.  A few of the newer people got lucky (like everything with this awful immigration process, there's seemingly a bit of luck involved), but for the most part, you have to wait 3-4 weeks after the case number is received before it is sent out.  Hopefully you and I are both in the upcoming batch!

Am I missing something?  I was assigned my case # on December 19th.  I thought I heard someone say there was going to be a batch being sent out the week of Christmas?  Was that inaccurate information?   When I check the status it says it is STILL at NVC...

There was a batch sent out at Christmas, but after the case number is assigned it takes several weeks for it to be sent to the embassy, based on background check completions and other factors.  We were assigned a case number on the 9th of December and are still waiting to be sent out. It does not happen as fast as you are expecting. 😕

Do all packets that have case numbers go out on the next batch?  Called and got case number.  I asked when the next batch may be shipped out, and he responded with 'well it was just assigned a case number on dec 28th and still under administrative processing'  -  is this standard lingo for them even tho it's got some odds of going out next week?

As someone else who is also awaiting shipment to Colombia, I can tell you that ours was received by NVC on the 12/3, assigned a case number on 12/9, but was not sent out in the shipment Christmas week.  Most people whom I've talked to from Colombia say it takes 4-6 weeks at NVC before it is sent (there are a couple who get lucky and have there's sent in the following shipment right after they are assigned a case number, but most have to wait until the next one).  Hope this helps!

Hello. Has anyone already called? They never answered saying please hold on line....how long do I need to wait 30min? Is there another way to know? 😥

Call right when they open (around 7 am EST) or after 9-9:30 pm EST and the wait is minimal (0-10 min).  During the day the wait can be 30-45 minutes or more.  It can be rough and the song that plays on repeat while holding will haunt you for days!

Who else from my Marchies is still waiting and going crazy step by step??

At least 235 days for us,  26 since they received our RFE reply (a passport photo that they lost), 8 days since a tier 2 filed a case inquiry (reply said up to 45 days more).  I'm glad we are not the only one in this boat, but it is brutally unfair watching so many people from May get accepted and so many RFE's handled within 7-10 days as was expected. You aren't alone!

    Yay! Congrats!

CONGRATULATIONS! Happy for you and your future husband and I'll most certainly be thinking of you on Election night! And @Knome same to you as well! It gives me hope that being on the same time line as both of you (NOA 1 3/14, RFE sent 10/12), our approval is coming soon. Praying so anyway. This process is the governmental equivalent of sitting on a cactus...and then staying there for 8 months, but an end is in sight!

233 total; 21 since RFE response for us. They keep telling me it will take up to 60 days from receiving the response to get an action. Tier1 submitted an "outside of processing time request" for us last week  in which we got an email that said it will take up to 45 days for an action. So basically 60 days. No choice but to wait it out.

Asking my congressmen is not an option since I live in the good ol' red as can be state of Texas; our congressmen will have no interest in helping a gay couple with immigration. 🙄

222 days for us, 15 since the RFE with no reply, same simple reason as @Knome because USCIS lost my photo somewhere along the way.  I spoke with a Tier 2 officer yesterday who submitted the same "outside of normal processing time" request as you did and he said we would not hear back on that for a couple weeks, but that the RFE might be reviewed before then. He couldn't provide an answer as to why people from early-mid May are being accepted before RFE's from March are reviewed.  It's a ludicrous process, but hoping some positive news comes along soon.  Hey, maybe you'll at least get to wave bye to Ted Cruz in a few weeks.  Feel free to conduct that wave using just one finger :) Best of luck!

Finally we got our hard copy of RFE and all they hav asked for a passport size photo of my fiance...(USC petitioner) only ..we sent both of ours pic in our k1 package ..i am jus wondering why they asked my fiance pic only again....

atleast we r happy thats its not about our dating site we met thru.. :) below is the picture of rfe stating wat thy hav asked for....any inputs are appreciated

We received the exact same RFE about a week ago, except it was for my photo.  Like you, I submitted one in the original K1 application so this frustrated the heck out of me as it is an unnecessary 3-4 week delay after a seemingly endless wait.  My lawyer told me that the immigration folks probably lost it and when I called, I was told the same thing by the person at USCIS, that it was likely lost and to resubmit it.  According to my lawyer, it should be reviewed over the next couple weeks, as it was a simple request.  Best of luck!
