  1. Many of us have been on VJ long enough to have seen that just because a child looks like the father does not mean he was the father. I'm sorry but as your friend was in a brief relationship with someone he barely knew. He cannot be for certain he is the father. She could have been pregnant when she came here, or met someone else and had a fling with or even planned this all out. It would not be the first time and it will not be the last time. He does not need to travel anywhere or have her and her child come to the US. Get the DNA test ordered at a trust worthy clinic in Colombia and his done stateside. Once he knows for certain then he can make plans on what to do. Or he can wait to see what she does next. Regardless that DNA needs to be done. Adding SSI will need your friends income and if he makes too much they will not qualify. She also cannot get SSI and live outside the US with the child. Seems like the plan is to use the child to stay state side.

  4. There are trusted labs in her country to get the DNA test done. No need to bring them to the US to get tested. Find one of the labs that the consulates use they would be trust worthy at least.
  5. It can be be an issue and it has happened to others. Even after 20yrs of not drinking still caused trouble for some. It will also show up on her criminal record check and should be also disclosed during the medical. It really is going to depends what the doctor will write and how the IO will handle it. That also can be country specific. Hard to give a really good reply when we don't know the country/consulate your wife will be dealing with.
  6. ~~Zombie thread locked to further replies. The OP has not been back on in nearly 4 years.~~
  7. ~~Moved to ROC, from K1 P&P - the OP has filed for ROC~~
  8. Haha still not much to do in Sudbury My father worked there often over the years (iron worker/welder) He has a piece of slag still in his neck. Years later the doctors still don't want to touch it.
  9. ~~Another thread merged. PLease do not start anymore threads related to this topic.~~
  10. I used to love going to the Big Nickle. My kids got to go see it for grade 8 graduation. We used to live in the SOO. My husband didn't understand the plugs outside either at my parents apartment building.
  11. ~~Moved to the Regional forum, from K1 P&P - as the OP is asking for Country Specific members to join~~
  12. We had the block heater plugged in and a light bulb shoved in too. The only way to get the car started the next day.
  13. ~~Bickering posts have been removed for derailing the OP's thread. Stay on topic and keep to the OP's question(s)~~
  14. ~~Hijack post and related replies split off to their own thread. It is important to not post about your experiences in other member's threads. It helps members when they can find all these threads individually to get a better idea about the process.~~

  17. I hope you all get good news from the test.
  18. I don't like the tracking of the crystals either. I thin they are just as bad as legos. My biggest issue with the clay is the way the clay smells even fresh out of the box. I can't get that smell out of my nose and half the time my nose is stuffed and I can't smell anything. But this dang clay gets in there.
  19. Ok it seems it might have been good but they change it and now nothing but complaints.
  20. Good idea, they have two types of clay.
  21. Congratulations! Sometimes that extra piece of mind is worth it.
  22. Thanks, have you checked the one they sell at Costco?
  23. Yes it is pretty messed up. I have seen others post on here that they were able to go into SS and get them to retrieve their numbers. You can try that or even call. It won't hurt anything.
  24. There have been members on here that posted their experience with the police warning others. Really all you need to look at the law, it says you have 10 days. So that is what police and so do the courts go by. How many get caught is probably low, but on VJ we cannot encouraged or condone you to break any laws.
