    Just saw a post that approval took 1.5yrs. Ead and AP was about 6-8 months and I've seen it mentioned it is getting longer.

    Yes it will be considered abandoned. You start from scratch by doing. AOS. Also for those that have changed direction please make your way to the AOS forum and not disrupt this thread further.

    As the others have mentioned that person is completely and totally wrong. If she leave the US before her AP is in hand they will consider her AOS abandoned. Plus it would not be possible to show up for biometrics without actually getting AOS filed and just to get your receipt for filling it will take longer than her Christmas break.

Even if the K1 was approved by December. No way you can get married, adjust and get AP/EAD during winter break. That is no way enough time.

    The K1 can and best to get that before getting married. The K2 needs to wait until you get married and file for AOS along with the EAD. Don't forget to apply for it, it's another form. Yes, without getting married neither of them can adjust status.

    Sadly they cannot. They have to wait until the EAD comes in or CG.

When starting the Adjustment of Status process you will apply for the EAD and AP. They are free to apply when you file to adjust status for mom and your stepson. Apply for it for both of them.

    Depending how old you are, you might have luck calling the Health Unit to see if they have your childhood records. They would have them from when you were in school. I wouldn't just go get revaccinated. Over vaccination is a real thing. Get the titers test.

    They may let him cross without activating it. Since going electronic packages it seems to be more hit or miss. You sure can cross activate, get started with a place and bring the rest over after.
