Immigrant Visa Extension
Ontarkie replied to Grandpa Ed's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Adding on to Crazy Cats advice. Option 1 is the best option. The medical is expiring when the visa expires the consulate will make her do the medical all over again. If and that is a big if they even want to re-issue the visa. High school graduation is not something that will most likely be seen as a reason to let it expire. They want a really good reason why she didn't or can't enter the US before the expiry date. I can't see graduation making that list. -

Family Member has TB, what to do!?
Ontarkie replied to SF20's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
I am surprised they gave the option to have it done by a non approved doctor. We have seen members go through treatment for TB and were clear by that doctor. Only to have to redo 6 months of treatment by an approved doctor. The problem with trying for a waiver is they most likely will not release the medical without the treatment. No Medical no visa. Also even after successful treatment your mother will have to be retested in the US by you local health unit. -
Getting a Social Security Number (SSN)
Ontarkie replied to Mariadelbarrio_27's topic in Social Security Numbers
~~Moved to SSN, from AOS Family K1/K3 P&P- the OP is asking about the steps to a SSN~~ Mod Hat Off It is advised to get the SSN before getting married as some of the employees at the SS office are under the impression that marriage voids the visa and will deny the application. It really is not hard to go back later to update the card when you have your EAD or GC in your married name. -

Covid vaccine still required for K1?
Ontarkie replied to kerasap592's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
For covid you must be fully vaccinated. It cannot be just the first shot of the series for covid. Which is now 3 with the latest booster. -
Question about CR1 border crossing
Ontarkie replied to quarrelcanada's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
You show up at the border and let them know you are endorsing your visa. There is no need to tell them you are turning around unless they ask. Then you just tell them what your plans are. Returning to get the rest of your stuff later and what ever else it is you need to wrap up. -

It comes in at the Interview This should be all that is needed. Is your friend a USC? I would like to move this thread if he is. -
I know it is heartbreaking to find this out. You say others were involved and news agencies have reported about it. Since she will not tell you everything go ahead and search things out for yourself with all the news agencies. Try to talk it out, figure out what is going on. I don't want to jump on the bandwagon of get a divorce because you don't know all the facts. Then at the same time she kept this from you and lied to you and that is heartbreaking but again you don't know all the facts. Ugh my heart brakes for you. You want an immigration lawyer who has experience with criminal cases. Not just any immigration lawyer is good enough.

If your friend is a USC then yes he needs to file for the child ASAP. AOS is not and option is this case. Once your friend gets the receipt number for the child he can call and ask them to match the child's case to the mothers. This is not seen quite the same as an expedite so they do sometimes grant this. Hold on to mom's case at NVC to do progress until the child's reaches NVC. This way they can interview and move together. -
She's not here on a visa anymore. She has her GC and will be able to remove conditions on her own. What I want to know is when did this warrant come to light? What crime is it said she committed? If this is a crime that happened before she received her visa, she can lose everything if it was approved on a lie. Please say you found this out by official sources and not from so and so that so and so knows kind of thing? It would not be the first time someone back home tries to destroy someone's life.

When you were filling out your AOS forms, there was a box on it that asked if you wanted them to apply for your SSN for you. I take it you did not follow VJ's guides and found some other site to follow. Here is the link check to the guides

EAD is your employment authorization. That should have been one of the forms I-765 you filled out when you applied for your adjustment of status. GC is the green card.
-
Do you have your EAD or GC now? Sadly it was your job to know what to file and apply for, you could have checked the box when you filled out your AOS forms. Sorry but this one falls on you and your spouse.
