  1. No they are not the same. A K1 enters the US, they get married and file for AOS. Once AOS is approved they get a 2 yr GC. then roughly 2 yrs down the road they file for Removal of Conditions (ROC). A K3 would be close to this order but they are married on entry. (I only mention K3 since you originally posted in the K3 forum). CR1's do not file for AOS either, but as they were married less then 2 yrs they get a 2 yr GC and will file for ROC roughly at the 2 yr mark. (90 days before the 2 yr card expires). IR1's do not file for either AOS or Removal of conditions, they do not get a 2 yr GC, they get a 10yr card.
  2. You could have been reading about a K3. They are similar to a K1 but married, still need to file for AOS and ROC. But these are almost never granted anymore and instead spouses get the IR1 or CR1. An IR1 or CR1 do not adjust as the date they enter those visas act as their temporary GC. They are GC holders at that moment the visa is stamped at entry.
  3. The CR1 Process does not include adjustment of status. The spouse enters the US with a CR1 Visa and if married less then 2 years. They still have to do ROC as the marriage is less then 2 years. The IR1 Process is for married couples of more than 2 yrs. They do not adjust status either and they do not have to file for ROC as they have been married for over 2 yrs at the time of entry. Now the very rare K3 visa is a married couple who do still have to adjust status after entry. It used to be a faster way to enter so they also would have been married less then 2 yrs. They also would have to file for ROC.

  6. It is so sad that we have reached part 4 of this thread. I'm wishing this madness comes to end soon. Also a Reminder that this thread is for support and updates for Montreal cases only. Previous thread

  11. Ever since Judge ruled that 15 months was not a long time to be in AP. WOM have been getting tossed out like candy. They haven't been helping any more, except for those ppl who were already past that time. I doubt trying to get a WOM to work on NVC is going to help at all.
  12. Today my dad turned 82, later when all the kids are home we will call him and tell him the news about the precious grandbaby❤️

  15. Fastest way is for you, since your husband's N400 process has not even started. Not only will he need the mother's consent for the move, he also will need a custody order saying he has custody of the child in order for his son to gain USC after he naturalizes.
  16. I wish they were in Arkansas, but they moved from Texas to Pennsylvania. My son said it should temporary, so we will see.
  17. ~~Moved to General Immigration Discussion, from Bringing Family of USC- as the parents are already PR.~~
  18. Thank you, I'm very excited, They are having a girl, my daughter in-law had a few miscarriages so they kept it a secret. Just now telling us at 6 months. Now they need to move closer to us so I can spoil her better.
  19. ~~Moved to AOS FAmily K1/K3 P&P, from K1 P&P- As this is now an AOS process not a K1 Visa topic.~~
  20. ~~Moved to Bringing Family of USC, from Work Visas. Duplicate thread also removed.~~
  21. You will want to hop over to the Canada forum and read the FAQ topic pinned in the Canada forum. Montreal is notorious for being strict with domicile. You may need to be in the US for a little before your wife's interview. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/
  22. I'm about to pull the trigger on a Litter Robot 4, any tips on which litter works best and cheap
