This is so weird. While I am waiting for the EAD and hoping it will come faster. 
I receive a text message saying my interview for I-485 is ready to schedule interview!!!

I am in the bay area California, and the San Francisco CIS office is one of the longest waiting time office (21.5 months). I read a notice from USCIS few weeks before that some heavy-caseload office may transfer cases to nearby offices to shorten the waiting time. But I expect my green card interview to be next year.
 
I am so surprised!!! My NOA 1 is Feb 4, 2019. 
 
Keep hopeful, good things may happen.

UPDATE - Just to let anyone who views this post know, I have successfully applied for and passed my driving test. My AB 60 License will be in the mail in 2 weeks. I used a rental car to pass my test, which required me to buy the liability insurance. After a couple of issues with certain DMV staff not knowing the rules I finally got there. Just make sure you read up on your rights and don't let those hard workers at the DMV turn you away!

Firstly yes, you are correct that an illegal immigrant can apply for an AB 60.. but the AB 60 doesn't just serve those with unlawful residence. It can also help people who are inbetween status!
 
Also as for your statement about it messing up a chance of getting a greencard... SERIOUSLY?

Us too (Saturday) but a Nov 2017 filer (we were one of the weird rogue adjudicator approved petitions from mid Nov). See you're from NC! We're in N. Georgia and heading to TN for the big day. AOS will be filed hopefully in the next two weeks but we've got until late November to file. 
Had NO CLUE October was the busy wedding season in these parts but we figured out real quick when we couldn't get into a single venue.

There letter usually takes 2-4 weeks. Your best to follow these instructions to get a copy of the NVC letter. It's advisable to contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. Also, ask about getting a copy of your case number assignment or better known as the NVC letter.
 
Individuals residing in Hong Kong
All applicants should appear in person at the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction Office which is located at 14/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, 1 Arsenal Street, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The office is open from 9am to 5:15pm from Monday to Friday. (Note: The payment window is closed daily between 1-2pm and stops accepting payments at 5pm.) Applicants may elect to make an advance appointment through the Automatic Telephone Appointment System at 2396-5351, no less than one day in advance of the intended appointment.
An applicant should be prepared to present the following items:
(1) his/her Hong Kong Identity Card or valid travel document;
(2) the original and a photocopy (for each applicant) of the letter from NVC which contains his/her name and the checklist of documents necessary for obtaining a visa (the one that references the need for police certificates);
(3) the original and photocopy of a document proving his/her relationship with the principal applicant for the visa if item #2 does not contain the applicant name;
(4) the processing fee of HK$185 per person payment via cash, Octopus cards or checks payable to Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.”
All applicants must consent to have their fingerprints taken. Each applicant must sign an authorization that the fingerprints can be retained by the Hong Kong Police and that details of any criminal conviction recorded in Hong Kong can be disclosed to the U.S. Consulate General.

Forums are also to give realistic expectations, lend experience, show the poster there maybe different ways of doing something then what they are doing may work better or have an outcome that is more satisfying. I shared my experience and you, the OP and others who have chimed in, didn't like the answer. I would think that having a latte and trusting the process is better then pounding your head on a wall and STILL WAITING. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our emotions we miss the help that are in the words before you. There are other places to go to get the answer here on VJ. Lots of tools to use but we sometimes get stuck in one thread and ignore the other ways to find the answer then be on a phone and not getting an answer you want.  But, you can make this process whatever you want. I'm sorry you get your feelings hurt from the emotional express you are on. But I'm showing that there are other ways, less stressful then what you are doing to get the same results. I'm going back to my Latte and see if I can help others who appreciate their "feelings" attended to. Oye Vy.

My fiancee phoned on 30 July,  he was told that we will get a RFE. However, the RFE was updated on the new site until Aug 10. We received the mail on Aug 13. My fiancee did try to phone to get a fax copy, the tier 2 officer rejected, said we should wait and just hanged up the phone after my fiancee was waiting for 2 hours to get through.
 
I did see some people get a fax copy. But I think it really depends on who you talk to. Good luck

I really dont expect this. I am so happy to finally get an update. We phone on July 30, a tier 1 officer said the system showed our case was finished revising on July 26 and will get a RFE.

Yes. Even I phoned yesterday, talked to the tier 2 person. there is no update. And she said that she could fax me the RFE only when the RFE is mailed and the status is updated online.

I changed my address online and was sent an email immediately stating to allow up to 30 days for the change of address to be updated. I received a second email less than 9 hours later stating my address had been updated and I called USCIS to confirm and it was in fact changed.

You are right. I did not expect we could get anything update from the USCIS phone call
