We just filed my husband's N-400 online. You have the ability to upload documents directly to your application so have your piles of everything you think you may need ready. Beyond the obvious (marriage certificate, copy of my passport, etc) there is space to upload joint bank account statements, mortgages, photos together, and all your other supportive documentation. They do ask for a 5 year address history (even if you are filing under the 3 year rule) and a 5 year employment history with addresses and dates and the system requires you to make a complete timeline so have exact dates. It also wants exact dates you have been out of the US since you have lived in the US only (so this would be the three year rule if you are applying because you married a US citizen). All in all, the document gathering was tedious but the system worked amazingly well. It auto saves your responses and uploads and lets you go through and re-check everything before submitting. There is a 6MB max on each upload but we found the system struggled with more than 4.5MB. good luck everyone! Still waiting on our lifting conditions...We are EAC17284XXXXX Vermont filers.

I have biometrics next week, and then once that’s done, I guess just chill out for 18 months

Update: Today I got the following email response from USCIS for my e-request:

"The status of this service request is:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate your Receipt Notice was never initially ordered.  We have requested the notice be sent to the address listed in our systems. You should receive it within 10-14 business days."

Hoping to get my NOA1 (extension) letter soon.

    Quick update:

I can now track my case status on older version of USCIS website and ironically, older version provided me upto date info whereas newer version still says, your case received with no updated info

Received an email this morning stating
" We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time  We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on January 30, 2019."

My next step is my biometrics appointment on march 1st 2019...

I didn't walk in for the interview.

When they left me a message to cancel my interview because of the snow, they said my interview was rescheduled for Feb 26 at the same time. It was a super brief message. So I just showed up with the letter with the original date, and explained to them. But nobody really asked me any questions about it. They were just like "ok!"

My original interview was scheduled on the snow day and I got a voicemail about early closure of the office. They said in the message my appointment was rescheduled in 2 weeks at the same time. So I went there yesterday with the letter. I just told them the appointment was rescheduled due to the weather and nobody asked me anything else.

I hope you'll get some kind of answer soon @Ahd77. Good luck

So my interview was yesterday. Online, it says my application was approved but the completion estimate is August 2019. Is this normal!? I hope I get the ceremony date sooooon...

    Just an update..

We contacted customer service yesterday and spoke to a nice lady .. we mentioned about the call regarding 2/26 appointment.. so far no document received related to the change of date.. she advised us to go to the office for the interview on 2/26 and did put a request for urgent infopass... few hours later some one called back and told us since they gave you a date through the phone   the change probably done internally.. so they are not able to see from the central system.. so just make it for the appointment.. the person also told there were few other calls received with same concern.

Anyway we went to the office today.. security did not ask anything.. 8th floor security told us go to window 59 .. and they never asked any question regarding the date on the letter.. anyway she had the interview.. passed the test.. but  she was claiming for citizenship after 3 yrs (marriage) and the officer gave her a no decision at this time letter.. we will have to wait for the decision in the mail..

anyway the interview part is over

But if you didn’t receive a notice and everything was filed correctly, then USCIS either needs to provide you the extension letter or a stamp.  You did your part - they need to do theirs.

I think it’s their customer service agents - some just might not be aware.  I would fight that as much as I could.  We all need proof of our status for various reasons, top of which is that we’re legally required to carry proof of status on our person.

The office in Atlanta is giving infopass appointment to people who have already received I-751 notices and their notices have expired.
    Not to new appliers.
Although the process is not transparent. I read less than 2 weeks ago somebody getting infopass appointment in same office , so i am not entirely sure why there is selective treatment for some.

Kiolas reacted to Roel in AER offers Grants for passport and immigration fees for foreign-born spouses

This is something my husband was recently briefed on. (and I just managed to find this info posted online :P)

Army Emergency Relief can now offer, and let me quote here:

" Grants for passport and immigration fees for foreign-born spouses. This is primarily for soldiers who are stationed outside the U.S., have married a citizen of another country, and want to bring their spouse to the U.S. when they are moving back to the U.S. Many soldiers said this was causing a financial hardship because they wouldn’t have the money to apply right away for their new spouse’s passport and other requirements for immigration, Durr said. "

I'm not sure what the actual requirements are in order to qualify for the grant - this is probably case - by -case type of thing (or maybe depends on the rank, dunno), but it's defiantly worth checking if you qualify.

Personally I'm going to contact AER and ask if the grant also covers naturalization fee. It would motivate me to actually apply for citizenship hah. 😛  I'll update the thread if they give me an answer.

Doesn’t seem right, especially since your card is expiring and you’re without proof of your status, through no fault of your own.

They need more transparency.  I understand an issue ocurred, but they need to get those notices out immediately, or offer infopass.

What happens if you were planning travel outside the US!?  Our lives shouldn’t be halted because of a computer error.

Got call from USCIS that they are not giving Infopass appointments to people who have not got notice but only for people whose notice has expired.
That means no license till i get the notice.
I telecommute and don't have kids, so it is not that big of an issue, but i cannot imagine how other people deal with this.
    This is so discouraging.

You guys I finally received my NOA! 😭  I was getting so anxious because I have to present my documents for new job next week and my green card expires March 10.
Also my passport is expired and I was hoping I didn’t have to pay $120 for a new one just to get an I-551 stamp.
    Here’s my timeline:

    Jan/11 - sent package
    Jan/14 - package delivered
Jan/17 - text from USCIS confirming they received it
    Jan/18 - money order cashed
    Feb/17 - submitted e-request
Feb/19 - got reply from them saying they mailed the notice (false because I didn’t receive it) and that they’ll send a copy
    Feb/25 - NOA/extension letter received

It's almost like some service centers need that e-request push from us to get things going to send us the NOA. I’m in California and my case is here, (WAC).

Oh is that so? I didn't know whether they would keep my GC once the stamp was generated. The officer who helped me this morning seems confused at some point, probably because he doesn't see similar cases like mine that often. Or maybe I'm just lucky that he just forgot to keep my GC lol. How are things going with you? Has they emailed you back for the e-request yet? Worst case scenario, make an Infopass appointment like mine in the 30-day time-frame to get your passport stamp to avoid headache and waiting.

Your quite lucky they let you keep the 2yr GC! Once you get your NOA1 letter, you will get the 18 month extension since you also have your 2yr GC

Make an Infopass appointment and get your passport stamped just because you can't wait for them to send you stuff and you are running out of time.

I still have my 2yr GC. I created an e-request couple weeks ago before I went to the Infopass this morning. In the email, they briefly said that they received my application and it is being reviewed blah blah blah. If I don't hear back within 60 days (from the day I received the e-request I assume), I shall call the them.
