Finally, my and my son's combo cards arrived last Friday and today his SSN card arrived too. We are all set except for the interview which will hardly happen until next Christmas. So be it, we are happy with what we've got so far. Good luck to all you guys with impending interviews, we will be moving to NYC thread which better suits our situation

Congrats on the interview date!
I'm just thankful as having the EAD approved means I don't have to mess around getting a SSN as I selected the box for them to issue me one So fingers crossed next week or the week after I receive the actual card.
Boredom does kick in intermittently, I'm sure after a few months we'll be begging for a few more months off
It really doesn't mean that SSA may well issue and mail you a card and they may as well forget it. As soon as my son's combo card arrives, I will go there in person. In fact, that's what SSA representative told me to do when I was there last time. I surely wouldn't rely on what we checked in the petition

Lucky us, since being interview ready as of 10/30 today I've got a message from Case Tracker app (it is linked to old website I guess) that our EAD cards are under production. My son will be able to apply for his SSN and maybe get it before the New Year. Strange enough, or maybe as usual, no change in case status on the new website and no change in status of our AP petitions on the old website. Hope this is no glitch

Hey!
Thanks for the advice, but it has even less info over there! Simply says “case received”
That is funny, glad you’re able to laugh at those emails now!
This stuff is totally inconsistent. For some people it works, for some it doesn't. It's a pity we aren't going to receive any paperwork until its to schedule an interview.

Good Evening!
8-22-19 Filled for AOS/AP/EAD.
9-1-19 Received NOAs.
9-18-19 Biometrics apt.
9-25-19 Fingerprints Review.
Our case is being worked on from the NBS. Should I be concerned about not hearing anything new? Anything myself of my lawyer can do?
This waiting game is horrific!! Glad to connected with so many people going through a similar situation.
Why not go check the new website myuscis? You check the old website, which may be inaccurate. My case is Ready to Schedule on the new website and Fingerprint Review Completed on the old website
PS: in our K1 journey, as soon as we got approved on the new website (it never happened on the old one though) I started getting "We Are Still Working on Your Case" monthly emails. First of these made me freak out, because I knew my case was at the embassy. All the rest made me laugh. The last one arrived 2 days prior to my trip to the US.

In March in Kiev at K1 interview we did it with tax return + pay stubs. In fact, I don't even remember the interviewing officer looking at them, merely the lady who took the documents before the interview and immediately pushed the whole pile back. Now we filed for AOS and my son had an RFE regarding his I-864 requesting household corrected and tax documents with all exhibits filed again (not precisely TT). We filed the same 1040 for 2018 for the third time, added new pay stubs accumulated after filing I-485, recalculated the household number and were considered good to be interview ready. Yes, there are rare cases but the best way is to follow what the instructions say, be it A+B or A or B.

They were faster then any borough same building but different floors .. so different processing now they taking the same time as the other borough all may filer have their green card already in queens but not Brooklyn/ Manhattan
It's much easier to adopt bad practice than vice versa

Every June / May filers in queens NYC ot their green cards already and out of nowhere the timeframes changed from 7months to 17.5 months ... now july and august filers might be stuck
Why would Queens be significantly different from other boroughs? Specifically if interviews for Queens are held at Federal Plaza which I think is true

Our NOA1 was early August, we received an RFE which was dated Sept 29th, they received the response 11th October.
24th October our status changed to "Ready to schedule an interview".
I went on the premise that an RFE at least gave us confirmation that someone was looking at our case, I don't believe it resets the case. Detroit is my local field office but RFE sent to the NBC ofcourse.
No, it does not. They put it on hold for 4 weeks. That is what they write in RFE and when acknowledging receipt of the response, they write again: we resume working on your case.

Unless you know that without doubt someone with a family based I-485 has an interview 16.5 months from now after filing in August, I would not believe that date. On the other hand, if that is accurate, at least you can skip the conditional green card hopefully by that point as you’ll have been married over 2 years
I know someone who had their GC through marriage (though adjusting from B visa) in 12 months and that was a year ago. So it is somewhat easy to believe that in a year's time backlog could have extended to 16 months. The same in NYC thread, most October 2019 interviews were those of June 2018 applicants and those people have already renewed their EAD/AP cards by then.

EAD is currently taking longer than interviews being scheduled
Gosh, hopefully not EAD is about 6 months on average, interview wait times in Brooklyn start with 16.5 mos. It really depends upon how backlogged the field office is. But it is my understanding that [our, at least] EADs are processed in Missouri, not by field office, just by case numbers

This is great news! Ours was received on 10/17 so hopefully we’re a couple days out too.
im assuming your case status updated on the 15th?
Response actually received by USCIS on Oct 15th, updated to 'Response Received' on Oct 16th, updated to ''Ready to Schedule' this morning. You are almost there

Hopefully something this week, @LukeU had his RFE received on the 11th of October and just got his interview scheduled last Friday; hopefully we are both soon.
I only hope to see that we are 'Ready to be scheduled' because here in NYC it will take another year to actually get to an interview

@HP+IC any news on your case after RFE?
Thanks for asking but nope. Still waiting

Hmm just going to hope Detroit flies through them then.
They received my response on the 11th Oct I believe it was. Just so happy that it didnt reset the timeline
Oh hope we are close. Our RFE was of 10/01 received on 10/06 and now they received our response on 10/15. I am pretty uncomfortable because we have filed together for me and child and this is regarding my sons I-864. Wish it were mine instead, or none at all
PS: not that a few months will really matter in terms of interview at NYC but we need those EADs badly. A K2 can only get their SSN through/after EAD. Without SSN poor kid can't get orthodontic coverage through his stepfather's insurance

Hi! Can you help me out with something? My RFE arrived in Lee’s Summit yesterday - how many days from when yours arrived did it take for your case to update to say they’d received it?
thanks!
Just 1 full working day. I think they will update tonight/thursday morning if they proceed with the same speed as on my case.

Got RFIE letter today. Thankfully it isn't too hard of a fix - Despite how meticulously I gathered my docs, I made a small boo boo and forgot to include joint sponsor's TAX RETURN documentation - I only showed W-2s. D'oh. Totally my fault.
We got the Tax Return Transcript printed out from the IRS' website and are gonna overnight ship out the response tomorrow, so USCIS should have it on Thursday.
Does anyone know if we might get another RFE at this point, considering this was an RFIE? Or since this was the only doc they found to be missing, we may be good to go?
My understanding is that RFIE technically does not preclude getting an RFE later because at this stage at the National Benefits Center they just establish the general eligibility and do not go into your case deeply. RFE may come later when a field office looks into your case to schedule the interview, like when people do not provide their medical results with the filing or they somehow expire or something similar.

This morning I woke up to "we touched your case" email from USCIS. Our responce to RFIE (my sons corrected I-864) reached them on Friday according to USPS and they updated the status online in just 1 working day. Wow, that was speedy. So good luck to those who are dealing with RFIEs.

The way it was stated was that they did not have it. It was already mailed back almost a week ago. We are good.
Cool! Just checked USPS tracking, our response has arrived, delivered today. Now let's see how soon they update the website. Also today my health and dental insurance card through my husband's plan arrived in mail. Looks like we deserve some celebration

My husband got and RFIE for his I-864. I know it was sent. So that was fun. At least we had copies of everything.
Beware, your RFE will say something like "correct your I-864 the way we advise and ensure that you use current form with all pages present and duly signed". Which means you may no longer use the form you sent them unless you mail it out tomorrow. New form is coming out on Oct 15 effective immediately with no transition period. Old forms will be accepted only if postmarked Oct 14th (Columbus day) inclusive or earlier. We have received an I-864 related RFE last Saturday and rushed like crazy to mail them the old form. Hopefully it will arrive today. Good luck with your RFE

Hi! Thanks for this. I’m glad you got it fixed pretty quickly.
how many days were between the website updating and you actually receiving the notice in the mail?
thanks!
No really sure because I didn't check it everyday then. The website said they issued it on Oct 1st, I logged on like Oct 4th to find out and here it was on Oct 5th. I had a pretty bad night but was slightly reassured to see it pop up on my USPS Informed Delivery email next morning. I was prepared to allow for a week, it arrived in 5 days. I posted my response by Priority which is expected to take 3 days (from NYC to MO).
I-485 Process
in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus

Medical results will be collected at the POE as a part of the yellow envelope. She will only have the vaccinations form. If in doubt, make an appointment with USCIS approved civil surgeon. Me and my son had our forms marked as stated above but missing certain shots not available in Ukraine. The civil surgeon referred us to DoE clinic to get those and after we brought him our new records, gave us new sealed envelopes for our I-485 case. That was it
