I'm trying avoid two trips to or a lengthy stay in Paris. Just got notice of interview date today for the end of November and will try to have the medical next week. Thank you!

Technically there is nothing to expedite.  You would email the embassy/consulate to request to reschedule to an earlier date, if available.

We rescheduled my wife's CR1 interview.  I sent them emails once a week for the request.  The first two responses from the embassy was that there were no dates available.  The response from the 3rd request detailed 2 earlier days that were available, and they instructed us to use USTravelDocs website to reschedule it ourselves.

You can try but that would assume they have interview spots available

Zin-Zin got a reaction from Redro in DQ'd...now what?
So my wife was DQ'd and is now waiting for the Paris consulate to schedule an interview. I'd like to thank a few people, namely @Crazy Cat, @pushbrk, and @ROK2USA for all their help answering so many of my questions. There are others, but those 3 have really been there for me and for that I am very grateful. Thank you!

So...what comes next? We were DQ'd on the 6th of September. How long until the file is at the consulate in Paris? How long until the interview? How long after the interview until she has her visa (assuming, of course, everything goes smoothly.)?

I'm trying to avoid a lengthy family separation. In your opinion, if I buy a ticket to the USA (we're long time expats!), for myself and the kids on November 10, is it reasonable to think that my wife would be nearly done with the process by then? I know that these things are not an exact science, but I'd love to hear what you think.

I follow your argument and thank you again for the help. I just don't know what ACTION i'm expecting from the congresswoman. I'll look into appealling. Why not? Thanks!

    It was in English.

Check out this plot twist. The form described on the US website was not available before January 1 2008. I got married in April 2007.

NVC is actually a very useful part of the process.  Prior to NVC serving as the payment center, reviewer of the I-864, and clearinghouse for documents, all of that had to be done be personnel at the Embassy.  Because cases frequently went to interview without the proper documents -- especially a properly completed AOS -- the majority of cases were temporarily refused for correct documents.  Staff then had to receive the additional documents, prepare the case file, and give it to the officer for another review and approval.  All of that takes time and limited the number of new cases that could be processed each day.  Better to know that the right documents have been submitted so the file at the Embassy only needs to be touched once and done!

    OK, thanks for that clarification.

So it may move things along faster rather than waiting the current 75 days for NVC docs to be looked at, but it's not an expedite to the embassy. Is that right?

I didn't use the Gwangju website. I found a Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that says the same thing. So better source.

The link says that it's for Koreans only and in person. I've been in touch with the Global Center for foreigners and they helped me to get the official to make a statement over email.

What do you think about that? The official's statement.

Thanks! I'm reaching out to my congresswoman. Waiting to hear back from her.

In your opinion, is the evidence I've cited enough? An email exchange with the person responsible for my marital documentation in Seoul telling me that I cannot get it AND the first part of this webpage translated, indicating that there has been a change of law and with it the creation of new documentation.

So I've never done a FOIA. Is it a pretty straightforward process? I'll give it a go and see what happens.

So the document is quite long. I am translating the initial 200 words that explain a new law has gone into effect and creating a new system of household and family registration. Is that enough or do I need to get the entire page translated?

I've attached the letter I plan to send as explanation of what happened. Do you think it's sufficient?

Can you clarify if you filed your I-130 on 04/2022 and received USCIS approval on 06/2022 without an expedite request? That is the timeline that appears from your original post.

To avoid circular discussions and delays w NVC ( since you cannot get a Supervisory Review) , just Google your Congressman , look for Case Authorization Form, print and complete it . Ask for help in dealing with NVC as they are rejecting the document in error thus causing hardship and delays. You can email ( copy of certificate, your emails )  the form today, w a copy of your id so they can verify you live in their district and follow up w a phone in a few days to make sure they have forwarded your request to the Congressional Liason .

This is free and quite effective.

I don't remember off hand, but the total time in Korea was 10 months and Ireland was 7 months.

Crazy how if AOS you don't need any of this. Seems like punishing people for following the rules.
