Hi all, we received our RFE today asking us to submit the I-693 Medical Examination and Vaccination Record form which a USCIS civil surgeon needs to sign and seal, along with submitting evidence that we have a valid marriage. I understand the evidence for marriage part but I don't understand why they now are requiring the Medical form now even though we had an interview scheduled prior to the shutdown.  Does anyone know what is exactly involved with the I693 of if its a big deal? We submitted the DS-3025 she received from Germany so I am not sure why this is needed.

    Thanks in advance!

HI all, just to update from our side. We were able to complete the 693 and send in our evidence on Friday  and today we received notification stating "New Card Is Being Produced". we shopped around for the i693 and it ended up costing us 350 here in South Florida.

They need the medical form (I-693) to certify that you've had all of the required vaccinations in order to immigrate.

This is amazing news since it probably means they're going to try and approve your case without interview!

I guess I just don't understand how this wasn't required when we had our interview scheduled for April 8th but now they want it. How is the process and cost of getting the 693 completed?

    Thanks!

  4. Just to update anyone searching for a situation like this in the future: My Fiance went to the interview and the NOA2 expiration was not even brought up. I did type up a letter for her to print and bring to the interview as well as mailing the same letter express with tracking. Way overkill but too far along in the process to allow something as silly as this hold us up :)

Well that information is something that should have been revealed in your original question. Having said that it is impossible to complete that request of theirs so I would do is have the petitioner send the beneficiary an email of the letter of intent, then print it off and the beneficiary does the same and I would bring it to the interview and present it with your explanation. This action by the embassy makes no sense in what they are asking. It's my opinion they will except the letters of intent and it won't be an issue as their deadline and requirement is quite impossible to meet with their short notice. I wouldn't worry about it.

My apologies for not including originally, was just in a little bit of a panic. I agree as well, although I assume this will be resolved upon their response, I will do as you suggested as a precautionary measure. One would think this expiry date would become null and void given the interview was scheduled over a month ago at the earliest available date...

    Thanks again,

    Kev

Do you have email? A wet signature is not required so send a signed letter of intent to the beneficiary and have them print your copy and for them to complete one on their end. Then email it on to the Embassy. Simple and done.

They specifically say it must be a wet signature sent by mail. I suppose we can try that route anyways while we wait for a response.

Our records show that you are the beneficiary of a K1 fiancé(e) visa petition.

An approved K1 visa petition is valid for a period of 4 months from the date of approval.  Since your petition was approved more than 4 months ago it is expired.  It may be revalidated for an additional 4 months provided the Consular Officer concludes that the petitioner's and the beneficiary's intentions are still to get married.  Please ask your fiancé(e) to send us (by regular mail, PDF's and e-mails are not acceptable) a signed, original statement explaining why you have not pursued the fiancé(e) visa earlier, and stating that both of you remain legally free to marry and that you continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after your admission into the United States.  Also inform us when you plan to travel to the United States.  If you do not contact us within 6 months your petition will be destroyed.

Just do as they have asked. Everyone has an expiration date on their NOA2 and the clock is ticking to complete your interview within that time period. If you are unable to complete your interview in that window, as you stated you can't, then send an email with two signed letters of intent to marry within 90 days and that you would still like to continue the process. Explain to them your interview date is July 1. That's all you do is what do will do. This is not a denial offense and it happens all the  time. Every embassy is different on how they handle this issue, so send the letter with the letter of intent which they are requiring will clear this up. Use the same letter that you used when you applied but change the date. No harm.

    Thanks for the reply,

The issue here is that I cannot get a signed letter from the US to Germany in that time frame. I have contacted the Frankfurt embassy and they have escalated the case and will get back to me within a day. I specifically asked if I need to do anything on my end and they said no.

It drives me crazy is that the only delays has been on their end and we have been responding and trying to schedule this interview as soon as possible.

    Kev

  8. Hi All,

My Fiance just received an email saying the 4 months has expired for the K1 approval, but her interview in Frankfurt is this Monday, July 1st. Does anyone have any experience with this or how to handle? The email wants me to send a letter to the embassy saying we still want to get married, but the interview is only 4 days from now. I have sent an email to the embassy to see what we can do as well.

    Thanks in advance,

Please see my reply above as the tax transcript issue is touchy with embassies and not all require the same document. In a nut shell if they take 2017 to an interview prior to 4/15 it should not be an issue. Many have used this procedure and have had no problems.

I'm slightly confused with the verbiage, It says at the bottom that "K visa applicants may present their own assets as proof; a tax return is not required." I understand that statement as not needing anything from the IRS?

You might just need to call and double check that you wrote down the number correctly. if so, just give it a day to fix itself. I was able to pull up mine same day they issued the number, but as they say, results may vary.

You were right... I heard the letter M when she read me the case number but it was in fact N... I am able to see it in the portal now, thanks!

This is the message I received, does this mean I need to send paperwork to NVC before it's shipped to the embassy? or is this just a generic message?

  11. Hi all,

We are a little late to the party but I just called NVC and received our case number. I attempted to track it but receiving the below. Maybe I am trying too soon or am I missing something?

in an unrelated question, does anyone know how I can search this thread specifically? I'm sure my questions have been answered in the previous 86 pages but I can't seem how to search a specific thread.

    Thanks in advance,

  12. Hi all,

This might be a somewhat obvious question but just wanted clarifications to avoid any possible issues. Do you foresee any issue with a German national entering the US via Canada on the K1 visa for the first time?  I understand US immigration takes place in Canada so I assume we should give ourselves ample amount of time at the airport prior to the flight. We will be in Canada for a few days to attend a wedding prior to entering the US as she can't enter the US a second time without jumping through hoops.

    Thanks in advance!

    Kev

  13. Well, less than 24hrs from submitting the "Case outside of normal processing times" form, I received an email from USCIS stating the below:

"Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action* within 90 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice , Request for Evidence, or Notice of Intent to Deny.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience."

I assume this is the canned response that is sent, did anyone else receive something similar?

I’m so sorry that you haven’t heard anything.  We have the same dates.  It’s pretty maddening to watch folks march right past you (you are glad for them, but, wonder what happened to you?).  We put in an online request for “out of processing” and found out 4 days later that we had been approved on the same day (just took a few days snail mail).  So, it does happen...just not when you want it to.  Here’s hoping you get good news soon.

It's not easy but we are trying to stay positive and take it day by day! Thank you for the kind words :)
