    Hey everybody!
On Friday, after nine months of waiting I got my notice that my interview was scheduled. The status changed on the page but I didn´t receive any confirmation on the mail stating the date and place yet.
I´m collecting the last pieces of evidence that I can think of and getting ready. Finally.. one step closer!
Will post here when they send me the letter the papers they are asking for in case it was updated.

There's no new rule. Probably an officer that is not aware of the K1 medical rule. It's rare, but it happens. You have two options: print the Instructions and take it to the interview since your medical is definitely still valid or just accept their mistake and redo your medical.
  3. Thanks
Fer Schvarztman reacted to Ayrton in July 2019 - AOS Filers
    Are you adjusting from K1?

Where did you have your medical? Inside or outside the US? When was your medical (Nov 2018?) When did you file for AOS?

If your medical was outside the US, there's no way your I-693 is expired because you never had an I-693. Foreign medicals use DS forms.

The rule is simple: Date of filing for AOS - Date of the foreign medical < 1 year = No new medical is required (as long as your vaccination sheet was completed).

2 years is the expiration date of 693 medicals done inside the US. If your medical was abroad, you don't have a 693, therefore your medical is still valid if you filed for AOS within 1 year.

Of course no one wants to play with USCIS, but I wouldn't do a new medical when I'm not required.

Then, yes, I would do a new medical to be prepared and not delay it any further.  Request could turn out to be 50/50 - maybe you get interview or maybe you get lucky with GC.  USCIS is even more unpredictable these days.  Always be prepared for an interview, of course, but wouldn't it be nice to just get it without one! Hehe

Thanks! Will check that on the USCIS website today. Yes I have my vaccination records since I was born. I had the flu shot at the Mount Sinai but the doc didn't provide any paper saying I had It, I might need to call them and ask if they can provide me with that info as well.

We had a similar situation but didn't find out until the interview. Go to the USCIS Site, click on medical, find a doctor that does it for your area, print the forms, or they may, then do it over. If you have evidence of vaccination, take it with you.

Congrats to everybody who has received an update in their case! For me, everything happened so quickly after I applied for the EAD renewal in early October. On Oct 14, I received a letter saying that my case was scheduled for an interview on Nov 3rd. We had the interview at the Houston field office and our experience was a good one. The IO was nice, she went through our files (the ones we originally submitted) before asking any questions. She asked if we wanted to submit additional evidence and I gave her a file full of more pictures, call logs, updated joint bank statements, car insurance, home insurance, etc. Then she asked my husband his full name, DOB, other info about himself, and if the signatures on the forms were his. Also asked if he had petitioned for is previous wife and he said no. Then she asked me my full name, DOB, the type of visa I had prior to applying for a green card (E2) and why, etc. She also asked how we met, and then a little chit chat with my husband about how he served in the army, etc. She told me congratulations, you've been approved and like half an hour later I received updates from USCIS that my card had been approved and was ordered. Then a bunch of other updates and yesterday, they notified me that the card had been picked up by USPS, so I'm expecting it early next week 🤩.

To those who have not received any updates, don't lose faith! I hope everything happens as fast for you too. I heard Houston is one of the busiest offices and I had been waiting since March when my interview was cancelled due to Covid... right when I started losing hope, I received the interview notice! so hang in there and best of luck!

Sure!  NO problem!  The form is actually to sign up to get a text confirmation (supposedly faster) as you wait for the mailed NOA.  Here it is:

    https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/g-1145.pdf

Yes, it is the EAD card itself.  The mailer is the 8.5 by 11 page (letter) on which the card came glued on, does that make sense?  That came in a priority mail wide envelope.  We included a copy of it.  I don't think is needed, though.

Let me know if you need me to send you a picture so you know what I am talking about.

Is there anything else you need from me?

We got a text last night saying our renewal has been received and NOA1 is on its way.  We should get it in the mail in the next few days.  Hooray!

    Delivered:  10/14/2020
    Text: 11/03/2020

Case through the app says this was updated 5 days ago, so I guess the NOA1 was mailed 10/30/2020 but we have not received it yet.

No, my husband has no 401k or life insurance, I hope to be able to find a job to add that kind of proof and feel a little more confident.

I know we're in the middle of a pandemic, but you never know who is going to take our case or even when the interview will take place.

The idea to insure the rings is great! I can add that as well. The owners of the building are a huge company, the representative that was assigned to us was not very helpful. She said she couldn't do anything about the lease, because if I'm not a co-tenant I'm not sure they will help by doing a letter, calling back makes no harm.

Thanks for the tips! I was running out of ideas.

Also, I know that when a GC is approved has a 2 year condition, and then they give you another for 10 years, but...if I don't get interviewed before April 22th, 2021 I will already be living in NY for 2 years, hope this means they can approve a 10 year GC instead.

@Fe.Ta my checklist for the interview was the letter that I letting me know the interview was scheduled.
That letter tells you what you need to bring for the interview. And they only take what is on the list. The woman that handled my folder, started reading the letter and I had to hand her the documents. I remember I had made copies of emails between families and screenshots of videocalls and she didn’t take them.
    i hope it helps

From what I know, this does not apply to pending applications that fell prior to the rule ever taken place.  So, yours or ours does not fall within that, even though we are waiting on interviews.

@Greenbaum or @Sarge2155 Could you please confirm?

We included a cover letter.  If anyone would like to see it, we would be happy to share it.

Do you already have the letter notice for Interview? They add a list of all documents and proof they want. I believe you have good proof, if you want you can add a letter signed from 1 or 2 people who witness your marriage or maybe your parents who live with you both.

Based on others Interview experience, what's most important now is to proof your income is above poverty line.

My husband and I also don't have assets and the rent lease is only under his name, I'm the foraner tring to find a job, so I can add the proof you already have. Retirement account, life insurance, etc.

You will do good 👍 and congratulations for the interview date!

Same thing here Fer.. they only gave me my license until my EAD expiration date.
I also opened a case because of the time that it´s taking to process my AOS and they told me I would have an answer in 30 days.... Today they resolved the case but the status is the same "pending interview". I guess we'll see.. If I don´t get anything in the following month I will have to start to get ready for the EAD renewal as well.
  23. Thanks

Unfortunately not...nothing at all, the last time I asked for my status they said there is nothing I can do at the moment, they are not reviewing my case yet 😔.

I think I will not have it scheduled this year.

Also when I renewed my NYC ID at the DMV office they only let me do it until my EAD expiration date Jan 2021. I don't know if this also happened to anyone else.

Now doing my paper work to renew my EAD.

    Thank you.

We were assigned to the Baltimore office.

We arrived about 30 minutes before our time because we left so early. We were let in about 15 minutes before our appointment; went through security then checked in.

We waited about 20 minutes before being called back. She asked how we met, went over the security questions on the paper (ie. guns, terrorism, previous marriages if applicable) verified our address, asked if we wanted to submit anymore evidence, we gave her our packet, she breezed through it, and that was it. She was very friendly and professional. She wasn't stern at all. I wish everyone could have such a lovely officer.
