Harsha85 reacted to SusieQQQ in Filing for the DV Lottery will have any significant impact on future visa applications?
Entering a lottery is not immigrant intent. Even getting selected is not immigrant intent. You only signal immigrant intent when you submit a DS260.

Harsha85 reacted to SusieQQQ in It is true that lottery entries submitted during the last week are disqualified?
You need to stop reading nonsense sites. Anything submitted during the entry period with a confirmation number is a valid entry.

Thats good. Hope you will come to US soon. All the best brother! Which state your going to stay? Do you have to stay in the same state where your sponsor live? Florida where I am living is good in many ways but pay is not good. Its a kind of poor state😊 with no state income tax which is best, It is a kind of retirement area. Sunny and no 4 season. Wisely decide where to start, am telling if you get a good job in one state your are getting stuck to it. I was thinking to move to Washington State but then I got a City job so I am going to live here until getting retired, lol.

When did you submit your DS260?
Did you submit copies of your civil documents to KCC and receive confirmation of that?

No. The total value of the assets must equal at least five times the difference between the household income and the poverty guidelines. The required income for 6 people total is $42,175, so you’d need 5x 15k = $75k in savings (that’s rounded but clearly still far from the actual number).

Oh i missed the bit about your family also having 3 members. Then $27k is not enough.
He sounds like he’s playing games with income & expenses for tax purposes. The reason doesn’t matter for you, just the outcome, which is that what he’s showing as income isn’t sufficient to sponsor your family.

Harsha85 reacted to SusieQQQ in Dv lottery 2020
What website are you looking at? No embassy involved. Go to dvlottery.state.gov and click the blue button that says “DV-2020 instructions” and once you’ve read them properly, click the green button that says “begin entry”.

Harsha85 reacted to SusieQQQ in DS-260: mistake
Doesn't matter what you put in the application form about education, what matters is that you qualify at the time of the interview.
You don't take your DS260 with you, the consulate will have the electronic copy you submitted. If you want to correct your DS260, email KCC with your details (full name, case number, date of birth IN AMERICAN CONVENTION mm-dd--yyyy) and ask to unlock the DS260 for you. Depending how busy they are could take a few days before you get notified its ready for you. There is plenty of time to go...don't rush it, double check everything else is correct before resubmitting it.
By the way there is no prior selection or deselection for interview. If you are selected for DV and you submit a DS260, you will be scheduled an interview when your case number is current. Being granted an interview doesn't say anything about your eligibility etc because only a consular officer can make that determination, and will do so at your interview.

Harsha85 reacted to NigeriaorBust in Sponsorship for DV Winner
You didn't state a country of origin in the your profile. It is kind of a regional thing but even then you should be fine. I know a few from Nigeria have been asked for one ( back when they were still in the lottery) but they general had the only a high school degree and no savings.

Harsha85 reacted to SusieQQQ in Sponsorship for DV Winner
Sponsorship requests are relatively infrequent and usually for people who cannot otherwise show that they can support themselves. Your own financial circumstances (savings around double the annual poverty guideline for your family size) plus job prospects should be more than adequate on their own.
