    Good morning all,

We are planning a visit for my fiance to come see me, can someone please provide a short list of the items (paperwork) she should bring just in case she needs them at the airport?

She'll be staying for a short week.

    Thank you

I just took a letter from my employer to say they have authorised my leave and I am expected back to work on xx/xx/xx and my return flight info. I didn't get asked for anything and they didn't even mention it but that was back in April so it may have been to early.

My fiance and I are going on vacation to Florida right when our NOA2 is expected so I think I will try and take more evidence to show i will be returning such as a letter form my landlord to say i am in a contract, letter from my employer and my return flight info. Others may have better advice :)

Yep. I'm hoping for 6-7months. Hopefully like USCIS said end of Sept, early oct. We are lucky at least that our Lithuanian embassy is pretty empty and it's a breeze to go thru. 1week-2weeks Tops from first letter to standing at the gate to USA.
they should also prescreen all applications.. Meaning looking over, the ones with redflags/insufficient evidence/not eligible/fake/difficult cases separately from the ones that have tons of proof, all paperwork in order, no issues with applications, and nothing is missing. Why we have to wait in the same line with people who later post "never seen my fiance, why my i-129f was denied?".

    Cheers.

    Ha perfect post 👌🏽

I just read an article that USCIS will be able to deny applications without a RFE starting in September. 😱😡

It won’t affect us as it’s for filers from September onwards

Also just in case you didn't know, its taking even longer now once you receive your NOA2 before it goes on to the embassy. My lawyer recently notified me it used to be a really quick process, like at most 2 weeks. And he let me know he has clients that everything is turned in but its sitting there at the NVC for 8 weeks or more before it even is getting sent to the embassy of the fiancees country. Overall the entire process on average has been taking 10+ months. It also of course depends on how quickly the embassy can do the interview and gets the visa back to you. I personally am not counting on any time line but thinking it will be around the 10 month mark until its all done. But there's no guarantee.

Yeah I have planned about 12 months in but it is what it is if it’s 7 months or 14 months there’s isn’t much I can do lol just need to wait it out :)

My fiancé is coming to visit me next month! I go to see him every month faithfully. (Cayman Islands) which is a blessing because I know some of you haven't seen your partners in months! I'm really praying we can be together by the end of the year! This whole process is annnnoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyingly long!

We try and see each other every 2 months or so and we’ve been lucky enough to do that for the last two years. It’s so tough! I couldn’t imagine going any longer not seeing him :( i pray it won’t be too much of a long wait for us all 🙏🏽

  6. This waiting is the worse but not much we can do! In the meantime I’m throwing myself into my work also I’m trying to lose weight and get fit so that takes up a lot of my time. My fiancé (USC) and I have a great call schedule during the week it’s during our breaks and lunches when we can, then whenever at the weekends sometimes we just chill watching TV whilst on the phone and not talking just relaxing with each other as much as possible then FaceTime every Sunday evening :) . He’s coming back over here in July and I can’t wait!! We are just having a small court house wedding then once things settle we will have a bigger ceremony for friends and family.

    Stay strong fellow Marchers!!

My love is in town and we did an engagement photo shoot this weekend (in 100 degree weather ), have to post one here because we aren't putting them online until tonight and I'm eager to share! He's been here two weeks and it's been so amazing. My birthday is Thursday and then he leaves on Friday, we're both trying not to think too hard about him leaving. We will see each other again in three weeks so it's a little bit easier. But then after that we won't see each other again until visa is approved and we move him here from Canada.

    What we asked....

Hello, My fiancée, Leda and I have filed the I-129F petition for a fiancée Visa. The Petition is at the California Center and based on the timeline on the USCIS website, our petition will be reviewed in mid-September.
We are planning for Leda to visit me in July in California during her holiday from school in Rio de Janeiro where she is a teacher's assistant for the city.

    We have three questions.

    • First, in addition to the notarized invitation to visit me in July (with the specific dates) and her round trip ticket what other documentation would you recommend she bring with her to prove "ties to home"?
    • Second, when the immigration officer asks her for the relationship between us, how should she respond?
    • Third, we understand that Atlanta may not be the "best" airport for her arrival in the States.
(She has a B1/B2 Visa and has been to the US before.)
Do you have any thoughts or recommendations on the airport she should fly into in July?

    This is the response...

Well, unfortunately, she's going to have a problem at the port of entry. She is not supposed to visit when she has immigrant intent. I understand that you state that she will go home after her visit, but they just won't believe her.
One of three things can happen if she tries and is not able to convince them:

    1. They will allow her to withdraw her request to enter the U.S. and she can go home, no penalty.
    2. They will not allow her to withdraw her request to enter the U.S. and will order her excluded. This has a 5 year penalty that she cannot come back unless she gets a very hard to get waiver.
    3. They will not allow her to withdraw her request to enter the U.S. and they catch her in a lie and they exclude her with a permanent bar due to fraud and/or misrepresentation and with that charge she cannot come back unless she gets a very hard to get waiver.

So I wouldn't even try. Go visit her instead of her coming to visit you. I wish I had better news for you, but I am trying to keep her from getting in trouble and I hope you realize that.

Considering everything I have read on this forum, his response seems harsh and doesn't align with the experiences detailed here on the forum.

We would appreciate any guidance from people who have actually experienced the process.

    In gratitude, Leda and Lani

Hey! We have a similar timeline and I visited my fiancé in NYC 13th April for one week. I took a letter from my employer and a print out of my flight itinerary just Incase they want proof I have ties to home and plan to leave again etc. and they didn’t even mention anything about our application. Like other users have said people travel in and out all the time without any worries. Enjoy your time together in July :)

Yes, I'm quite aware of that.

And yes, I did mean for the petitioner obtaining a travel visa to the country of the beneficiary. I wasn't sure if any more scrutiny was placed on them or if it needs to be disclosed in the first place. Just curious if anyone already had that information handy.

    Thanks.

I came back from NYC last week and I travelled under the VWP and had no issues at all they didn’t even mention it. Hope that helps :)
