prai reacted to powerpuff in Case processing year petition brothers
It’s not USCIS, but NVC (department of state) who publish when visa numbers become available.

each month they publish the visa bulletin, you can search for older ones

So happy for all you guys getting your EAD! VJ estimates ours coming any day now with the latest ETA of Aug. 17th. AP looks like it could still take anywhere from next month through October. Hopefully we can travel for our wedding anniversary in December. OMG lol.

I've shared a bit on this on p.10 of this thread.
First, I called USCIS and got a reference number to open a service request. I was told to wait for an email instructions, but from what I've read on VJ forums, many were denied without USCIS even seeing any proof. (I have never received the email instructions, by the way. Just an update weeks later that the request was submitted and will look into it.)
Then, I immediately contacted my local congressman's office by phone. VJ forum posts were very helpful (look for your local congress page > help with a federal agency for further information). They were very responsive and super helpful and were happy to contact USCIS on my behalf.
Afterwards, I've sent them a cover letter (template also found here on VJ), signed & scanned privacy release form, and a compilation of USCIS receipts and proofs in one PDF (I think about 12-13 pages that included numbered proof backing up my claims of my cover letter. Things like my income before moving here with currency conversions, salary average statistics with for my industry here in the US, my calculation range of lost income since arrival during the K1 process, proof of me running a business with achievements and credentials, pending client contract offers, and other relevant details. Oh, I also included the fact that DMV won't issue a DL without an EAD in my state with screenshots, and why this is relevant for my business - I've even used screenshots of the geographic area where I live).
It took a month but it was very well worth it. So, in total, my EAD approval took 124 days.

prai reacted to powerpuff in Applying for Job while EAD is still waiting
~~ Topic moved to Working & Traveling during US immigration ~~
Yes, it’s allowed to apply for jobs while waiting for your EAD. It won’t impact your application. If you receive a job offer, you can request an expedite for your EAD by providing a job offer letter.

prai reacted to olivia77 in RFE received - got questions
We've sent ours by mail.
Part 4 Q 10 asks for SSN, and part 4 Q 12 asks for Sponsor's A-Number (if any). These two are not the same. As I see from your profile, you're both from Nepal, right? My husband is a US citizen so he naturally doesn't have A-Number, which I think is short for Alien Number that's assigned to foreign visa applicants. Good luck with your RFE!

#3 should be zero
#1 is (1)
#2 is (1)
#3 is (0)
#4 is (1)
Dunno what else they might have flagged. Is it possible you listed another dependent somewhere else like on your I130 or tax returns?

I uploaded to the USCIS site. I think it is quicker than mailing. It has been a month since we submitted the RFE response and a little over 2 weeks since biometrics and we have not heard back yet.
The official instructions state "you must submit a photocopy of your marriage certificate issued by the appropriate civil authority where the marriage took place", so I believe a copy would be fine.

My RFE was only for Part 5 #8, as I didn't have the right browser extension to edit the PDF. I had to fill in Part 5 by hand, but the auto-filling filled out #8 as "1" and I forgot to correct it.
Your issue is also very common. You are correct, Part 5 #3 should be "0", as you do not have a spouse NOT included in the petition.

Read the form.
1. Do not list any person more than once on this form.
2. Items 2 thru 7 are ONLY for people NOT sponsored by the form.
This question comes up frequently around here. Your household size should be 3

prai reacted to Crazy Cat in RFE - Household size
That RFE is a generic statement for an incorrect I-864. The problem could be anywhere on the form.

Item # 3 should be "0". Items 2-7 are for people NOT sponsored in this I-864. In addition, any person should be listed only once. Your spouse is already listed in item #1.
Should be:
Items 1,2,4 should be "1"....total household size should be 3

@Sarge2155 provided all the documents needed in the first post of this thread. You should compare what you have to the list provided.
For the I-131 you should include your passport bio page and your K-1 visa. I would add tax transcripts for 2018 if you have them.
You have some extras in there that are not needed i.e. recent photos, marriage cert for I-131 and I-765.

prai got a reaction from Nnenna0304 in SEPTEMBER 2021 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
They are saying 60 days so you do not call them often. It took 4 weeks for me to get the NVC case number after NOA2.

Click on the link and download the pamphlet. Then you can check the box and continue.
You're not saying you used a marriage broker. You're just saying that you received a copy of the pamphlet.
Regards,
Vicky's Mom

My case is "Ready" but I am waiting from the embassy to send the interview date. DS160 expires after 30 days and fee is not refundable so if your interview is not within the period have to redo again.
