  1. Based on what you wrote the policy (insane) is - do the test and be on your merry way without any boosters.
  2. Didn’t it all go current for June this year for prior year DV? check the visa bulletin on state.gov.
  3. You had an interview scheduled for a Saturday??? I don’t know that federal government would work on a weekend. Try calling USCIS and escalating to tier 2 so you’re not marked as no-show and they reschedule you.
  4. Are you trying to harm your wife? No one needs a booster a month after completing the initial series. Get your wife a PCR test for travel and send her on her way.
  5. What category? I’ve definitely seen movement in F4 (not India, Mexico, Philippines).
  6. Umm, SSN never expires - yours for life. In 2007 SSA started printing date under signature line on SS cards but that is NOT expiration date. You probably have a restricted card that has the legend saying good for work with DHS authorization only.
  7. Ever tried the NVCInquiry@state.gov email route? Would need USCIS case number, petitioner and beneficiary details. You also should have approval letter from USCIS to attach or provide details.
  8. Also, don’t you put an address down when you pay for green card issuance?
  9. In Addis Abbas airport sending husband with our cat back to the States to drop the cat off. I packed a ziploc bag of cat litter for husband to make makeshift litter box on the way to final destination. The litter is the US Fresh step unscented litter. Before you get to the check in desk you have to go through the X-ray for all luggage. Husband got flagged because of litter. Ethiopians claimed he was trying to take rare earth minerals from Ethiopia. No matter how many times we tried to explain it was cat litter they were not letting it through. I think my husband ended up opening the bag and tossing it in a trash can. The cat flew fine and we were reunited with her three months later.
  10. Not USCIS - they don’t issue visas. Department of State.
  11. How old was the daughter when you got married? If under 18, you can petition her. If over 18, your husband can petition her.
  12. Given that getting an interview will take a while, I’d have him start on L-1B while completing NVC process and then go back to Nigeria for interview when scheduled. Doing AOS which strands him until AP, EAD for months and could take years makes no sense. Arriving on immigrant visa is superior as it starts his permanent residency at POE and he has naturalization in sight 3 yrs later vs waiting 1-2 years for residency THEN starting the clock for naturalization in 3 years.
  13. Find a third country that doesn’t require vaccination for visiting. Egypt is one and I’m sure there are others too. You can meet there.
  14. May want to reach out to hospitals in the area where you’re thinking of moving and ask for cash prices for different types of deliveries. Uncomplicated vaginal would be the cheapest with midwife/birthing center. They may ask you at interview how you’re planning to cover birth. Have you started looking for jobs yet? You could start working with a recruiter and have an offer letter ready at interview - hopefully a job with medical insurance from the get go. Immigration (location change) is a qualifying life event so one doesn’t have to wait for open season to enroll (and no, SSN is not required for insurance- you shouldn’t even be giving it to doctor offices).
