We had the Pfizer vaccine. We still have to observe Covid protocols, so if someone runs a fever after getting the vaccine, they still have to miss work for 24 hours. Apparently it's not uncommon to run a fever after the second dose. We are really more concerned with the second dose, but the scheduling of that is tied to the first one. We thought making everyone get it before a day off would be easier than having everyone get a managers approval to get it scheduled.

Everyone is saying side effects hit after about 6-8 hours and last for about a day (from the first dose). Mostly it's a really sore arm at the injection site and feeling tired/weak the next day.

I had a sore arm for two days, starting the evening after I got it. I've never had that much from a vaccine but I just took it easy. Lots of my coworkers had the same issue. We all had Moderna. The second one is January 26!

We have a staff of 3600. Everyone was required to have the vaccine prior to a scheduled day off to prevent a logistical nightmare. The first round was relatively trivial and very few people had to miss any additional time. Personally, I am glad I had the next day off, and I did have minor side effects for a few days. I am actually not looking forward to the second dose now, as I've heard the side effects tend to be worse with that one.

Was your Pfizer or Moderna? We are getting Moderna. A lot of us work Monday through Friday but I could see them working something out for nursing staff to get theirs before a day off.

I completely agree, but you know they will be out there, and some people fall for scams.  Personally, I am hoping for the Moderna, or AZ, or even the J&J one, but who knows with me, I am certainly not going to be on the list early.

Btw, for the healthcare workers, are they planning on staggering the jabs so not everyone is out at the same time with the side effects?  I understand the second jab can be pretty eventful.

My job is giving everyone an appointment to get it with specific dates and times over a two week period (Dec 28 - Jan 4.) I'm not sure what they plan to do about people who are out with side effects.

    Hi everyone!

I was one of the many who had their rescheduled K1 interview today and happy to report it went well!

If anyone wants any specifics on what they asked or how the process went please ask!

Overall the entire thing took me less than an hour. Quickest interview ever in my life 😂

I'd love to know what kinds of questions they asked and how the process went! My fiance's interview is on Tuesday!

No, it meant that the date i sent it via ups is before feb 24, which was feb 17, written in the receipt. Signed dates were between feb 11 to 15. 😉

Thought I would ask you since you recently did this and I'm not getting any answers in my own posts...

    - Are W2s necessary?

    - Does it matter if my father's middle name is screwed up on the passport?

    - Do I need a letter from my employer?

    - Does it matter if there is a discrepancy in my employment on my I-129F and my tax forms?

    Thanks!

  6. Hello all,

I'm in the process of finishing up the paperwork to send to my fiance for his interview. However, I encountered some issues I did not expect and I'm not sure how to fix them. They are as follows:

    - I spelled my father's middle name incorrectly on my birth certificate, so it is now different than what's on the I-129F. Does this matter or do I need to order a new certificate? (I do have a passport.)

    - I am a state employee, but I have a specific work station. My employer name and address on my W-2s is different than what is on the I-129F. Will two different addresses matter?

I thought of using the Additional Information section to explain that a typo was made and that my employer is considered part of the Commonwealth, but I'm not sure if that is sufficient. How should I address these issues?

  7. Hello all,

My fiance was looking for interview documents in P4 and it mentions the petitioner's birth certificate. As the petitioner, will my a copy of my passport suffice for proof of citizenship? I do not have my birth certificate and I used a copy of my passport for the I-129F. I know I could get a new copy, but it would take a few weeks to arrive. Should I order one and wait until it arrives to schedule or can we proceed with the interview scheduling?

  8. I know exactly how this feels. My fiancé and I were together for 2 1/2 years BEFORE we ever met for the first time. That is significantly longer than it takes for most couples. We also had to wait until we were together for almost 5 to do the paperwork. The long distance doesn't bother me quite as much as it does others because I really don't know anything else. But I get it. It IS hard. The only reason I took my job was so I could make enough of money to support him and get a place to live close to where I work. The job is awful and I despise it, and I despise living so close to people I grew up with. But I can't leave and start my life over somewhere else until he is here because a) I need another income and b) I don't want to spend money on going back to school/moving when it could pay for immigration. This has caused many arguments between us and made me resent the long distance. But I hang on knowing that in time, we can things better for both of us. There will be a time when you look back on this period and it is nothing but a memory that doesn't matter

  9. Yes, cancel the divorce, and be prepared to explain why you two aren't living together. The issues you were dealing with are very common with the K-1, and easy to learn about by simply Googling the process. I think you both let the downsides of the K-1 get to you too much and didn't think enough about the interview and what lies ahead. If you had at least waited until the interview to live apart, you'd be in better shape.

My guess would be it's the sum of the circumstances.

Job hopping isn't uncommon and wouldn't be an issue so long as employment is consistent (rather than the job) and income exceeds the minimum requirement.

Job hopping + a huge age gap + other factors that don't match up (ie: beneficiary claims to not be working as they "must" look after an ill parent despite applying for an immigrant visa would would take them away from said parent that needs so much nursing that beneficiary can't work?) + Petitioner being almost at retirement age = a group of circumstances that would make most CO's do a major double-take.

I make above the income requirements (43 k) a year and he has had stable employment. So I'm hoping that's enough!
