We submitted our paperwork on 11/29 and received our NOA1 on 12/11 - it was dated 12/7. I've seen some fast approvals on the timeline, fingers crossed we can be that lucky!
 
@reneenumbertwo - our envelope did not say return service requested.

After having the RFE mailed to us on June 27th, it being lost in the mail, the e-request for a new copy not being responded to, and three days of calling the USCIS... finally got a copy of the RFE emailed to me.
 
...and it's the birth certificate, which I'm 100% sure we included in the application.
 
Over 30 days of having our case on hold for this is so so so frustrating.

Well, believe me or not, we are too, dismayed with the way things are politically and economically in the US and what that may entail in the long run if that continues. It may come as a suprise, but you may find President Trump is not that much different from President Duterte...

I would go that far. They have no business seizing her passport. The passport is the property of the foreign government. That would make me mad a little, and especially all this happened when she was in perfect legal authorized stay.

The staff at the local office is really friendly. Just had one tiny issue with my uber driver suddenly becoming very rude as soon as he realized where he was dropping me off...

Oh, no worries. It was the first time I experienced a negative reaction like that... he's the outlier, not the norm, luckily.

My husband just had his biometric appointment this morning!
He said everything went smoothly. Got there about 15 minutes before the appointment, asked for his appointment letter and id. Stamped his appointment letter and gave it back to him for our records. They scanned his fingerprints and off he went. He said it only took about 5-10 minutes!

The USCIS case status online didn't change -- it's been the same since we got the NOA. The same happened back with the K1 petition, we received the approval notice in the mail without any updates on the site or anything. Definitely have to rely on the postman!

That sucks.  I've added the tracking app (didn't know about it during our K1 process) to watch my wife's progress.

Finally!  We received all three text notifications last night! 😄  And money taken out of my account!! Who knew that would be so exciting! Haha

Our case was delivered to the PO Box this morning!  Reeeaaaally hoping for good news this time 😬

The setback is disheartening, but at least they returned your check and you won't have to deal with a financial blow as well... I hope everything goes smoothly for you from now on! 

So I called them last night and after being on hold for over an hour they basically confirmed that it must have been their mistake and now we just have to send it all back to them..... 😞  So, we're going to do that today... Our plan is to attach a letter explaining what happened and send back everything exactly as they sent it back to us and include another copy of the I-485 just in case with a new signature and everything... My check was also returned so I think I'm just going to send that same one back to them.... Feeling so sad about this.
