  1. I would like to share my experience visiting my fiancé while waiting on our NOA2.

I arrived at the airport in Miami on Oct 4th and was upfront when the agent asked about the purpose of my trip. He asked what I do for a living, how long would I be staying, etc. but seemed a bit weirded out and asked if my fiancé was Brazilian and how we met. I replied and added that we currently have an open petition for a K1 visa. That's when he went just "Oh, okay" and stopped asking questions and stamped my passport without any restriction.

  2. Informed delivery shows me that our RFE letter arrived yesterday, 9 days after receiving notice that we'd be getting an RFE.

We were getting a bit worried about the delay in getting the letter. I ended up calling USCIS Friday and heard the robotic voice message, but after hearing the 30min+ wait time warning, I decided to wait a bit longer before asking someone about it. Good call I guess.

I can't wait to get back home tonight and see what it says. 😟

The old website lets you search any case. So just increase or decrease your case number in the URL after you search by 1. For example https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do?appReceiptNum=WACXXXXXXXX1.  Try https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do?appReceiptNum=WACXXXXXXXX0 or https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do?appReceiptNum=WACXXXXXXXX2

I really don't know if there is value in doing so. Just something else to obsess over 😄

I should have ignored this...those lucky bucks! Come on, just look at mine already. :P

The USCIS scan site is interesting though - according to it, < 1% of March petitions have been approved, so we've just got to be patient...easier said than done!

  4. I think we got our NOA1 today - yay! Looks like we were sent to CSC as well.

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number ###. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.
