redvines got a reaction from willcrack in NVC Filers - October 2018
It took 13 days for me for submission to case complete (CEAC case). After that comes the harder wait for your interview date which will vary depending on your country, so best to only compare there to people interviewing at the same embassy.

redvines got a reaction from Jules27 in I-130 filed from Australia - USC living in Australia with partner
Hi Jules,
1 - I believe you can post it to the USCIS Chicago Lockbox, the postage would just be more expensive. We left our paperwork in the US and our attorney filed them after we had left the country.
2 - Yes, you could possibly even stay in Australia until you were both ready to move if you had a joint sponsor and could prove intent to re-domicile. There are others going the the process in Australia now that are doing that.
3 - Potentially, also American drivers licence, voter registration, car ownership? IDK others who have done the process from abroad could probably advise better. My wife had to go back for grad school so we've not had to prove that.
4 -That fee sounds a little steep, and a whole heap of people on here will tell you lawyers are the worst etc. It is doable by yourself, however we used an attorney and found that since we both have a lot on the money was less costly than the time and stress. We've also had no requests for further information and had all our documents accepted on the first go around.

redvines got a reaction from Keeley in Time between CC and Interview Date - CR1/IR1 Sydney
That is amazing thanks Keely. I didn't go back so far and didn't realise beyond 10 or 11 days was normal 😅
I've called NVC a few times, I don't think there are any issues, just very impatiently waiting. It's a holiday Monday so we'll be at 20 days Tuesday and hopefully hear something then.

This will give away just how obsessive I have been about tracking my case's progress and attempting to predict when this thing will be done, but....here goes anyway.
While I was waiting for my case complete, I put together a spreadsheet with everyone on VJ who had an interview scheduled in Sydney in the last 6-8months to look at recent averages for different stages of the process. I only included people who populated their timeline throughout the process, so it's not a very big population (9 VJ members who populated both case complete date and recive instruction and interview letter date between March and October.) The stats for this little population for number of days between CC and receiving an interview date are:
Mean: 18 days
Median: 16 days
Minimum: 10 days
Maximum: 29 days
So I think you're okay at 17 days! I'm sure you'll hear soon. It may just be down the timing of when they schedule interviews? If you haven't already, you could always call NVC just to make sure there are no issues. Wishing you good luck and hoping you hear very soon!

redvines got a reaction from Gj & Cathy in Australian AFP Police Check
It sounds like it, you will need it to say 'Complete Disclosure' on it also.
I uploaded mine to NVC and it was accepted and will take that to the interview.

redvines got a reaction from Gj & Cathy in Australian AFP Police Check
I contacted the embassy in Sydney prior to getting mine, as I had heard contradictory things about if people who have changed names and received the following:
"Australian police certificates based on fingerprints are preferred, but a certificate not based on fingerprints is acceptable if it shows all aliases ever used. When applying for the certificate, indicate that it is “for immigration purpose” and must be “full disclosure”. "
I can't remember what code I selected however mine lists my aliases, is on fingerprints and specifically states it was full disclosure. And no I haven't done my interview yet.
You will still have time to get a new one if NVC only just received your case, it is at least 2 months at NVC even if you fly through the process.

I hope the air isn't too thin up there on your high horse.
While I can agree with some of your sentiments, I cannot agree to all.
Have a nice day.

With MMR I would go to the medical first, my Dr organised an antibody test as I had proof of one shot when I was quite young but not additional ones. The antibody test showed immunity so no shot needed.

Medical went well I think. Not from Melbourne, west coast.
I don't have a formal plan at this stage, hoping to be there asap so will head over as soon as process is done.

I don't believe there is a long wait, the time will be process time.
For me it was around 3 weeks till I got a case number, just under a week before fees were processed and we could submit, after my documents were submitted two weeks for case complete (there were no issues, so no resubmit required) my case has been complete for a week and a half so I'm expecting my interview date any day now judging by the timelines of other Australians. The usual is that they give you around a months notice and it's always on a Tuesday.

redvines got a reaction from vibgyor1111 in POE and layover times
Coming in at the wrong time I've spent about an hour and a half in the queue at SFO just after they changed so that all e-passport holders went through (US citizens or not) the same line, with no secondary.
Then again I've gone through SFO in less than 20 mins (obviously no secondary) after getting off the plane quickly and lucking it so the prior flight arriving had almost completely cleared the queue.

redvines got a reaction from Keeley in Recent Wait for Sydney Interview?
Looking at member's timelines who've been through recently it seems to be around 30 days. I have heard 30 days is standard minimum notice.
