  1. Made a quick trip to passport agency today after my duty and applied for an expedite. Shocked that it was only a $60 fee where other services online where charging as much as $300. Can pick up passport in 2 days and  flight is next week. Glad that was sorted out and really excited to see my love soon. Thank you for everyone's help!

In response to @Chris Duffy I am white (fair skinned haha)  but very much asian with chinky eyes to back it up so decided not to risk both immigration and embassy entry. By the way, I'm a her :) Female active military soldier and we're a same sex couple applying for a k1 visa. I hope you keep us in your prayers for an approval because this is our one shot going at it in getting married. Same sex marriage is not allowed in the Philippines so cr1 is out for us. With her philippine passport, not a lot of countries she can easily travel to and that will allow us to marry if we're not legal residents in that country. So please pray for our interview approval 🙏  Appreciate this forum so much and the people here always helping out those in need. Many thanks!

  2. Hi everyone, my Fiancé will be having her interview at USEM soon. I was naturalized through the military but have not applied for US passport yet and since it was a sudden decision there is simply no time left to process one and I will be traveling with my Philippine passport instead. So i asked my Fiancé to call the USEM hotline to ask what kind of identification they would require for me to enter the embassy but upon calling ,they informed her that i, as petitioner, would not be allowed inside the embassy because the appointment is only under her name. Now we're confused if this is true because we've seen several thread here that tells their petitioner accompanied them just fine on the interview. Is there anything I'm missing here? Were we misinformed or is there a step that we need to accomplish for me to be allowed inside the embassy with her? Also, if anyone knows, aside from a US passport, what can i bring to be allowed inside the embassy with her?

Good Morning! Hope to not ruin your day but just wanted to vent. 22nd day from NOA2 and NVC still hasn't received the case from USCIS while others who has same NOA2 July 23, and even after, already got their MCN. Talked to a supervisor Belle, after a Sasha who was really nice to me but I got impatient with this whole thing so I asked kindly for a supervisor. Belle said she cannot talked about others who I mentioned that has the same approval notice as me (even after). I wanted to tell her, of course you can't or else your 'six weeks' script will be inconsistent, won't it? (I didn't, just wanted to)... Then she said as long as it's not our website (NVC) that shows it or you don't have any other case number I can check, I can only comment on yours (which I completely understand).

Good Luck to everyone and help me dig more patience ! :)

Hi, i know how you feel as NVC only received ours after 26 day where others from my same NOA2 date got theirs in 9-15 days. It can get frustrating but from experience what helped was constant conversation with Fiancé which mainly consisted of "it will happen, when it's meant to happen". Last time i was with my Fiancé was 18 mos ago and we both feel the pain of being apart for that long. Hearing how trusting she was of the process, despite several setbacks (believe me we had plenty since our filing) helped me a great deal. I suggest calling NVC once a day then live your life as you would any other day. When you do get your NVC case number things would be pretty hectic from there with all the paperworks you need to file and gather. You'll get there, don't worry. Also, on the third week i did call USCIS and spoke with a Tier 2 officer who opened a case inquiry for me. USCIS replied after 2 days and informed me case was already approved and sent to NVC. On 5th day NVC received our case. Don't know if that helped but you can try. Hope you get your case soon and hang tight there.

  4. Hi, after 26 days NVC finally received my case and today, was finally issued a case number. Although at first call agent wouldn't give me the case number because beneficiary DOB was incorrect. Kept saying 30 December but was told it was not the date they have on the system and gave me further instructions how to correct it. After i emailed asknvc the bio page with correct information of DOB, on a whim i called NVC again and told them 31 December instead. Lady gave me the case number right away and after checking CEAC status it shows, "At NVC".

I do apologize if this has been answered before, but can I pay for the visa fee at BPI bank now? Or do i need them to correct the DOB first before paying? Maybe you can help me @Greenbaum I'm not in a rush to schedule the interview but i would like to pay the visa now if i can to get one thing out of the way.

Also, i was told that i need to inform USEM of the correction in my Fiance's DOB as well. How do i inform them and when is the appropriate time to do that?

Thank you for all your help in advance.

In my last post I gave a bit of concern and warning not to be to aggressive in trying to secure the NOA2 as we have seen a few cases where it was ask for and they found themselves have a new problem on their hands where their file was called back from the Embassy and now they don't know how long they will have to wait. Right now their wait time has been an additional 2 weeks with no communication from USCIS as to when the record will be release. I'm just trying to head off any problems for you but if you want to keep trying that's all up to you. You do not need the NOA2 letter for anything now till you process your AOS after marriage so plenty of time to get it after you are stateside. Their is nothing that you need that letter for to have your medical with SLEC or interview with USEM.

You still can call NVC for your case number, just not push the issue of receiving the NOA2. It should show up but like I said, don't push now because you don't need it.

I hope you understand the complexity that others are experiencing and you have the opportunity to avoid that.

Definitely helpful information and duly noted! I'll just keep calling NVC and hope they'll receive it before the 6 weeks. Thanks so much!!! @Greenbaum

For now forget about getting the NOA2 until you have finished your interview and she/he has landed in the states. We know two other couples recently and pressed the issue and their case was recalled from the Embassy and now they are waiting for something to happen. Been 2 weeks already and expect a few more. They had been approved and case reached the Embassy. So just lay back. There isn't anything you need the NOA2 for at this stage.

Thanks for this information @Greenbaum Nothing i can do at this point but wait since NVC still hasn't received our case after 21 days. If we do reach day 90 and still not received at NVC, would they reach out to USCIS for our case if i'm not in possession of our NOA2 approval hard copy? Thanks in advance for your help!

I started calling NVC when it hit 7 days.  Then everyday since it’s been 16 days since our NOA2. I just keep reminding my fiancé to look at the bright side,we are waiting for the NVC number while others are still in limbo with their receiving NOA2.

I guess it it all depends. Some are just luckier than others.  What are everyone else’s thoughts? Have others waited up to the six weeks?

I'm currently on day 21 since NOA2 approval of July 13 and still waiting for NVC. Been calling them as well everyday. Still patiently waiting, tho starting to accept the idea that I might reach 6 weeks. Problem is still don't have the hard copy of our NOA2. Which is not strange for me since i didn't receive my NOA1 until 45 days. Had to wait for 30 days for that before i could ask for a copy and another 15 days till they could resend it. The only sign i have of now of the NOA2 approval is the new website status and calling USCIS to speak to a TIER 2, who did confirm that we were already approved but i have to wait for 30 days before i could request one to be resent. Same drill. I'm sure nothing came in the mail because i'm signed up for informed delivery and my mom and brother checks our mail everyday. Just hoping i finally have a copy of NOA2 by the time i hit 6 weeks at NVC because the only way they would inquire about my case with USCIS is if i send them a copy of NOA2. Who knows wha't happening with USCIS. Maybe they'll send it before 6 weeks, maybe they won't. It will happen when it happens. Fiancé and i are just hoping that we have a good outcome overall with the entire process. What's a few months of waiting as long as we can finally marry :) Hang in there!

When searching our case. Brings up two. One says issued, the other says application received.

She has the interview a couple weeks ago and received 221g to prove the child is hers(due to late birth certificate issuance). Submitted all the documents and up to just a couple of days ago it just said ready. Then both changed to application received. Then just changed one of them to AP then issues. The second one is still on application received. Is it possible that they just didn’t update the second one or is it still in the application received stage?

Just want to know if this is “normal” and if anyone else has had this issue

May i ask what documents was asked of her to prove child is her and how long was the child unregistered for?

Both send me to the new website :(

I just double checked now, old site link is where you can instantly put your case on the case tracker. new site link is where you have to create an account first before you can add your case and view status. Mine still says approved on the new, and received on the old. If you are sure you can access the new, you can just download the mobile app USCIS case tracker because it uses the data from the old website.

Posted homepage of both site for your reference

Jan 4 received date: old and new site.

Received an E-mail tonight it says:

I tried logging in to the new uscis website to check the status, however i forgot my password and security questions that’s why they locked my account. Does getting an account locked affect our application?

also tried calling uscis to update but i can’t get a live rep since it’s too early in the US.

Praying and hoping for us janubies to get our approvals right away! 🙏🏻

It wont affect your application. I was also locked out of mine a month before i got approved but created a new one under my Fiancé's email address. Just sign up for a new account with a different email address. Add your case there so you can view what that decision is. I hope it's an approval! Good luck :)

Odd that things are updating on the new website for some. I applied to expedite due to my father's grave cancer diagnosis even tho i knew it would only shave a few weeks off IF approved (a few weeks is vital at this point.) The info saying that the request to expedite  was received/completed (not approved, just completed 😑) is on the old website & case app tracker, but the new website has no mention of it.

You know my Fiancé and I were just discussing this the other day. USCIS has tons of ways to notify you of updates regarding your case but they only seem to be doing it in just one way.  My Fiance applied for a military expedite 5 mos ago and the only notification we received they denied our request was thru email. No update thru text or any of the USCIS site. My friend who was approved last May did not get any notification from email, text, or site but got a snail mail instead. So we thought that maybe their case workers are only "required" to notify you in just one of the many ways that they can? Anyway t's just a theory that we have. If they updated the old site for your expedite i believe that's where you will get the decision as well. Our decision after they received our required documents for request to expedite came after 14 days. Hope you get a favorable decision soon.

Remember most people are posting things from the new website so those Jan 12 Jan 11 are people who were received dates from the first week originally. Apart from that the first couple of approvals have been from the first week and they mostly never go in strict order. They might do Jan 8 before Jan 6 or 7 but will generally stick to the first week and second week and then move on. They don't seem to be skipping around like they did in November for January.

Most of us approved last week i believe were Jan 9,10,11 and12 received dates from the new site. My original received date from old site is Jan 9 so it's just 2 days apart. So i'm not certain that they did start on that week rather than the first week but it seems like it. Also my Fiancé is a military member and one other approved also mentioned their Fiancé is as well. I'm not sure if that's a factor tho.. But i'm sure those who posted their approval were in the range of Jan 9-12. I pray they generate more approvals this week with us January Filers. I know how stressful the wait is from the time of filing up to this elusive NOA 2. Keep the faith guys! We will all get there.

I know!! This is the worst part. The talking and making so many plans but having to wait to start your life with so much insecurity regarding this process. And so much family to keep in the loop haha! I'm happy right now 'cause I'll see my SO in 19 days!

I envy you! It has been a year this month since my Fiance and i saw each other last. I hope you guys have a great time! Must be exciting planning your wedding when you're physically together. February almost done in a week so that's one month off shaved in our timeline :)

  14. Hi my fiance is currently on her AIT and her phase 2 would be in Hawaii. She is an E4 and her orders are no dependent so we know she won't be able to live off base. We are processing a k1 visa and what i wanted to ask is if when i do get my visa, can i POE to Hawaii, get married there, and receive BAH while i'm there in Hawaii with her although she is still living on base? Also if we file for an AOS after getting married in Hawaii, would i be able to leave Hawaii while AOS is in process to travel to let's say, California?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

  15. Hi everyone, just wondering if any January filer has the same experience as ours. We got USCIS confirmation that our case was received on January 9 and we already have a case number but it's been over three weeks and we have yet to receive our NOA1 hard copy. I've been reading in this thread that some has gotten it days or just under a week for their hard copy. I'm glad for everyone that has received theirs but am getting worried why ours have not been delivered yet. My fiance is currently living inside the barracks at Fort Sam Houston, could it have something to do with the fact that when we wrote her address in the form we did not put her company name in the main page for address but only included it in the field of Additional information.  The reason we did this is because her company name was too long for the main address field. Any insight regard this would be much appreciated. Fiance is PCSing to a different location by march with a possible deployment which is why we're eagerly awaiting for the NOA1 hard copy to check if expedite is possible. Thank you so much for all your help.

  16. Hi fellow Jan filers! Our petition was sent Jan 5th and we got an email and text confirmation with case number from USCIS on Jan 12th. Just wondering how many days or weeks after should my fiance (the petitioner) receive our NOA1 hard copy in the mail?

So glad i stumbled on this thread to read each and everyone's experience in this journey to be reunited with our person! I'm sure this is going to be a long and hard wait for us as it is tough to be so far away from the one we love but keeping my fingers crossed that we all have a 2018 wedding :)
