CaseyCobos reacted to Kat&Joel in August 2017 I-129F Filers
Hello revered Augustines,
I'm a July filer but just lurking here as the number of people waiting for approvals in July is rapidly dwindling. I have to lurk here now and than I'll follow @Naes to September so I can see her approval lol.
I hope you are all getting lots of approvals. I can confirm that they aren't updating the app. I was approved in January but mine still says "Received". I never got that thrilling phone buzz to say that I was on to the next step.
Remember to get your stuff in order for the next stage after approval. Once you get your NOA2 things can go really fast!! Last thing you want is to slow things down even further by not having your information ready.

***unless you get Mr. Bean as an adjudicator (Yes, I've named the Nov 16th rogue). Then you have about 1 month to lose 20 lbs for your wedding dress and you needed to sell the house yesterday.

CaseyCobos reacted to kyrachos in Travelling overseas with a cat
Hi, my husband and I brought both our cat and dog from Egypt when we moved to the US. Dog was in cargo and Kitty was in cabin with us. Our journey was 2+ hours outside of Cairo, a 4 hour layover in Frankfurt, and a 6 hour drive home from POE. Both fared well (cat was ~3yo at the time, dog was 1yo). The cat's plane ticket was $100 and dog's was $200 (depends on weight for cargo...baladi dogs don't weigh that much. ). The cat would have also been $200 if she flew in cargo. We flew with Lufthansa. Doing the paperwork is easy. Your fiance just needs to get a health certificate from his vet and proof of rabies vaccination (rabies vaccine must be >30 days from departure). Technically cats don't need rabies vaccines to travel to the US (according to the CDC), but it's better safe than sorry. Your fiance can get a government health certificate from the vet at the airport on the day of departure (arrive a few hours early) or he can hire a broker who will do the running around for him. The government paper costs 5LE, rabies vax is maybe 150LE, and the private health certificate might be another 50LE-200LE. We didn't use a broker, but DM me if you want the contact info for some (I don't know their prices, though). When we arrived in Atlanta, the customs agent didn't want to see the private health certificates - just the government vet from the airport's papers + the dog's proof of rabies vaccination. There is no quarantine as long as the animal is in good health and has an UTD rabies vaccination. Overall, the process was incredibly smooth and easy.
Worst case scenario in the US: put cat in boarding at a vet clinic for a couple of days. Not sure what the prices are where you are, but our cat cost $9/day to board in a clinic (make sure she has ALL of her vaccinations up to date, not just rabies, if you board her).
The trickiest part for you will be living in a no-pets-allowed apartment, but you can probably get away with it as long as the cat is well-behaved (consider spaying her if she hasn't been spayed already...250-500LE depending on the vet - I can also recommend some in Cairo if you want. no heat = quiet kitty..it's also much cheaper to do in Egypt than the US).
My husband was very grateful that his "daughter" (as my husband calls the cat) was able to come with us. She and the dog were the only sense of normalcy he had in the US at first, so he found their presence comforting until he got over the culture shock and homesickness. The journey was stressful for everyone, but both animals bounced back to normal within a few days of arriving..and like you, we moved after about 2 months of living with my not-so-pet-friendly parents (both animals were relegated to the guest room during that time ). Now we've been settled for 1 week shy of 2 years and our pets are totally happy and comfortable. DM me if you have any questions I didn't cover.

My fiance is driving to Auckland tomorrow for his interview. We are planning to send packet 3 back to the embassy on Wednesday. My dad sent a whole bunch of documents for his affadavit of support and his signed form should be here tomorrow. The last obstacle is the NZ bank information for my affadavit of support. I have to call the embassy tomorrow to ask what to do since the bank won't be able to provide statements or deposits. I hope next weekend we will have the packet sent off and just waiting on the interview. Once the interview is done then we can sort of breathe for a minute until we do our big move. This whole process is brutal but with everybody providing support at each step of the way we can all make it.

Just got off the phone with my attorney regarding backlog and rfe's , last year the current administration sent new guidelines to the department of homeland security regarding ALL visa petitions. USCIS was told to review each petition a 2nd and a 3rd time before issuing an approval. He also said his office hasn't received 1 rfe in last 2000 cases and seems to think most of these rfe's within the last 8 months are being issued to people that filed the petition themselves. USCIS were sent a new set of guidelines 8 months ago and they been going by those, so prior to 8 months ago things would have been approved faster than what the current rate is now due to the change in how things are approved. Which bothers me because if someone sends in the correct information, evidence and meets ALL the requirements of the I-129F petition for K1 then should be approved no matter what the new guidelines say. If one meets the requirements then by all means approve them if the both background checks are in order.
I will not vote for this administration next time around.

Praying to see some big movements in the scans tomorrow or LOTS of mail next week... I need these approvals to keep me going. I'm getting anxious about April... It's SO difficult to sit here and twiddle your thumbs. I'm feeling a tad bit angry at the moment with this process. I know its been said before but I don't know how May/June people who are still waiting do it. I hope to God we can get our NOA 2 in a "timely" fashion so we can move on and be done with this BS whew... feels good to vent

Hello!!!
Just wanted to tell you that it is okay to feel how/what you're feeling right now. Sure, I try to enjoy my day and be thankful for having my fiance in my life, but sometimes forcing myself to be positive makes it worse. I know no one here is saying we have to force ourselves to be positive, but that's just something I do to myself sometimes. It is also harder for you since you don't have friends near you.. When I went to the states for the first time, I was soooo depressed because I had no one with me so I understand the feeling of loneliness. And I can't imagine that you're going through this process with that situation. So even though you may not be able to give yourself a round of applause, I will!! I also understand that you feel you have to stay home and save money for future. I feel the same way so I haven't seen my friends for a while now, and some of my friends (even though they are really good people) seem not understanding that.. Any feelings you have are important; sad, mad, happy and more. I can't give you any advice since I am also struggling with it, but just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this even though you may feel like it. And you have every right to feel how/what you feel:)
Of course, I try to keep it positive as much as I can, and I love seeing the positive posts here. When I get really frustrated and worried about my visa situation, I come here and read everyone's post. I love my friends, but they don't really understand what I am going through because they have never done it. So I am really thankful for having this website where I can share my thoughts and read everyone else's!:)

Hey guys, some people who got approved on February 5 is getting no-updated approvals in mail, so especially August 1 filers don't forget to check your mail boxes.
(apparently even informed delivery didn't show)

Same here. Kind of counting the days until we will see us finally again, even if I can't count as I don't know, when everything is done

Yup!! He's (petitioner) got his eye on the goal moreso than me and he has to remind me constantly. I'm lonely and irritable with him. I worry we won't have enough evidence of happy times between NOA1 and the embassy interview....thats how depressed I am. And I also worry that we'll get denied and won't have any other options. I'm having a really hard time😔
