Yes, in most cases, we will return the old, canceled passport to you. The old passport may be sent separately from your new passport. We recommend keeping your old passport in a safe place as it is considered proof of your U.S. citizenship.

Do you have a visa? Because the OCI is a separate booklet unless you got issued years ago when it used to look like a visa sticker.

They waived my interview and got greencard in mail on 2nd week of feb. Hope you will get it soon.

Some points to be noted.
1. There is a specific number of times you can see the visa appointment page. Every time you change the date in "Schedule OFC Appointment" Page or change the location or you select a date/time and move to next page, it is treated as an attempt.
2. Your OFC appointment and consular appointment need not be from same location. Even if you have specified one location in DS-160, you can book your one or both appointments at a different location.
3. After few attempts (7-8), you would get the message
"You are approaching the maximum number of times you may view this page. Please complete your transaction at this time"4. This is an advise. You still have few more attempts left. If you reach the limit, it would show
"You have exceeded the limit for viewing this page and your limit will be reset as of tomorrow."
5. You have not lost anything. You don't have to pay fees again. Reset time: Midnight at Washington DC, USA (EST). Depending on daylight saving time there, India time would change.
6. Once it is reset, you try again. Let's say you selected June 1st for OFC at xyz location and in the next page, it says nothing is available at any consular office. Then try a date June 15th/20th and repeat the same process for all consular offices. Let's say for the OFC date of July 28th, you are getting Sep 3rd Consular date as the earliest date in all consular offices. Then instead of going forward, come back and change the OFC date accordingly with at least one day gap between both appointments. This way you can plan your travel arrangements better.
7. Always give your local address as passport pickup address. This way, you don't have to travel again if you appear for consular interview at a different location.

You’ll be fine. Refile and that’s it.
No, you’re not subject to deportation. You still have your PR status until an immigration judge rules the opposite. You can still work.

I encourage everyone to double and triple check their exact eligibility date to file and wait few days to mail it or file online.   Filing Few days later is much better than refiling and losing your application fee.  

I also got 24 month extension letter 2 weeks ago. I think they are sending the extension letter based on the expiration date. Mine was supposed to be expired on first week of February. 

IMO, I think it would get the ball rolling on your ROC. At least that’s been the case in other cases I’ve seen. We won’t be doing N400 and have been waiting for interview since October 2020. I did send in a inquiry last week, as it is now outside the range for normal processing. 

I believe it does. Filing N400 would combine both processes and you'd have one interview. We have similar timelines - case ready for interview scheduling since 04/14 and extension letter expiring in first week of Feb 2022. I went ahead and filed my N400 on 06/01; ready for the extended processing time & waiting for the 24 month extension letter now.

Call market place and Ask your Husband to tell them about his work  and based on income he will receive tax credit and accordingly there will be Monthly Premium and then tell them to add u in same Insurance as his and they will ask about  ur immigration status and work etc and when u get ur work , report to market place of that change .  the Whole phone call mite take an a hour but  U will have insurance until then and Report every life change to them ( As soon as "you"get a Job).

Yeah we have scheuled our interview by ourself.
Islamabad consulate toLd us to schdule interview by our own and bring all the documents and fees that were required at NVC stage and it was skipped.
We schedule date 20 June 2018.
So guys we got complete joint sponser documents today.
We resceduled Interview date of 13 June,Islamabad Embassy.

As our case was expedited embassy told us to schedule interview by our own,we schedule first of 20 June but today resceduled of 13 June.

If the reason is valid enough,NVC approves expedite and skips all NVC process and send our file to our embassy and we have to submit everything at the interview.i think we can make appointment by ourself just like k1 visa or by contacting embassy. I think @Beast8 might be helpful to him.

Hi guys,
So I finally travelled to the US yesterday and got in around 9pm local time. My POE was Newark, I wasn't asked a single question , the Immigration officer took my packet, stamped my passport and welcomed me to the United States. Within 1hr I was done, the only sad part was they took my suya (😭😭😭 , my Nigerian folks would understand) the journey has been a tedious one and I'm so glad to be with my dear hubby. I wish every one success , and my prayers are with you guys. Just hang in there, it would soon be over .

Got my case and invoice number over phone today.. exactly on 9 weeks

My dear VJers, I am now officially a US permanent resident. I got into America last night at 8:45pm Est. 
POE Atlanta. 
Everything went very smooth from filing at uscis, to nvc, to interview and then POE. The whole journey from start to US entry took me 1 year and 4 days.. It is the Lords doing. I wish the rest of you Goodluck while I go start a family with DH

Don't login it yet wait for a few days to a week until u get the email of the welcome letter only then they usually open the links , but each link with the payment takes usually a week each so don't rush on it and send ur documents yet , submit or mail ur documents in only after u are able to complete IV application after ur payment of 325$ is cleared and the IV application is open .

I thought one from passport office is enough. Now I heard that if our passport was issued on a date which is before 6 months from the date of visa application we have to obtain one from police office too

Yaay! Alhamdulilah, I received my case number and invoice number today! NVC receive date: Feb 28. It took 9 weeks and 6 days. Best wishes to everyone! Hang in tight! 😊😊
