  1. Back when we had to actually send in the papers, I had sent every single page but I think the first page, last page (with address, parents names, and spouse name), any pages with visa stamps would be good enough but since you are just scanning all blank pages aren't going to work against you. I had a fat package and fat printer ink bill but scanning isn't going to cost anything :)

  2. Safe answer would be ‘No’ if you are unsure your wife has taken all the vaccinations listed on USCIS website. Explanation could be as simple like someone suggested above or that your wife has had vaccinations according to your wife’s country’s vaccination law. They won’t penalize your answers because the medical doctor shall have the final say on your wife’s vaccination.

There are cases where the beneficiary has answered yes only for the medical doctor to override and give vaccinations. And that hasn’t affected the beneficiary’s visa process.

  3. My husband entered on July 5th 2018 and got his card only on August 15th. And SSN came 2 weeks later.

Since there was no movement or tracking for SSN we went to the office a week before we got the green card and the lady mentioned they won’t begin processing until the immigration status on their side changes to Permanent Resident (which in our case changed only after the green card was printed)

he already sent all the financial support documents before he lost his job, Today he was fired and it is just when we are waiting for our interview so I wanted to know if later in our interview being without work affects?

Like I said you haven't lied so you shouldnt be worried. When the CO asks for his current employment be very clear on when he lost his job and that he is in search of a new one. Your husband may even find one before you actually go to an interview. Don't Worry!!! :) See if you can find a co-sponsor just as a back up.

it wasn't required to send any educational certificate.

Like I said, one of the most common questions is what other countries has your husband visited and at that time your husband has to declare the places he has visited. It's better to be safe than sorry so I would recommend to get the PCC. Rest is up to you :)

He does not need educational certificate. But on i 130 they mentioned about last 5 years address and i think ds260 form they ask for past 10 years address.

True they do ask for addresses where your husband lived on DS260.

Hi I would like to know the following, my husband has just lost his job and we are waiting for the date of our interview the loss of his work affects our interview?

Do not worry. Since he lost his job after you submitted all the documents it wasn't your husband's fault. Do be honest and let the CO know about it and if possible see if you can gather any co-sponsor in the meantime so you can submit those papers in case the CO asks for it. CO makes the final decision. So don't worry :)

Thank you for answer. but he is not planning to go back. also, we haven't mention anywhere that he been to UK.

Doesn't matter if he is going back or not. NVC requires you to have all police records where your spouse stayed for more than 6 months after the age of 16. Haven't you submitted his educational certificates or stated he lived in so and so places in your application anywhere? Technically if you haven't and NVC finds out, it could spell trouble.

Edit: One of the common questions during the interview is where all have you (meaning the spouse) visited previously. So you have to declare then even if you haven't mentioned anywhere.

Hi, New here. This might sound dumb but can anyone explain what does "PD" stand for?

    FIELD OFFICE- SAN ANTONIO, TX

I applied for AOS based on marriage and sent i-130 & i-485 along with my entire packet on October 4th, 2017. I had my biometrics in the 1st week of November. Since then I have't heard back from USCIS.

Do we have any folks in the same boat as me. We can stay in touch and update each other.

PD? where does it state, that would help in defining what it is.

Also this forum is for Consular Processing a.k.a when the spouse is out of USA. Here is the link to the right forum :

Hi everyone I am new to this site. I didn't even know it was here a few days ago. I have some questions regarding the interview for my wife. She is going to the US Mumbai consulate. Okay to the point.

I am a born citizen and I married my wife about a year and half ago I met her through my uncles friend, which I've known since childhood. Her parents are very simple people and very religious so they did not want and extravagant wedding party we went to the gurduwara did a marriage ceremony with about 15 people which included my parents and hers and some of my cousins. After all that, me being American, I wanted a huge crazy reception party which I had soon after and it was great! So my question is that my wife has pictures of the wedding ceremony but it's not an album (maybe small album) and it's not very extravagant or party like. It is just the ceremony, because like I said her parents are very simple very religious people, but she also has a huge reception album with the whole crazy party too. All my other paper work is in order (marriage certificate, taxes, form, etc.)

Would this cause my wife any problems?

Because we had a small marriage?

    Should she take both albums?

Anyone else been in this situation of a small marriage?

    Thanks everyone.

You shouldn't be worried! They look for genuine relationship and most of the time they are okay with few photos. Officers in Mumbai are aware of local customs regarding arranged marriage and rituals. The number doesn't matter, who attended matters to them.

    Hi.

I've been in the US with a Waiver tourist visa for 2 weeks and I want to apply for AOS + I-130. my husband is a us citizen born in the US. Me and my husband have been married for 3.5 years, we got married outside the US and we have a 1yo kid (us citizen as well).

I want to be a permanent resident and also get authorization to work. What is the best way to do it?

    1. send all the files with our current documents, can my application be denied? Is it possible to succeed in this scenario?

    2. get married in the US

    3. What happen if I get a Job offer?

Like people have previously mentioned, changing your mind now after POE is seen as fraud when you apply for AOS. Of course there was someone else on the forum who did go ahead with this procedure and said the lawyer was taking care of it.

    Hi All,

Just had a question. I am a US citizen and have applied for my wife's immigrant visa. Her interview date is on 17th July; received the letter a week ago. I just finished my undergraduate studies and dont have a job (MBBS; doctor) but I have a joint sponsor with a $100K + salary. Will this go through? We intend to immigrate and do PG there in US.

Hoping for some insight to this.

    Thank you!

    Akhil

It should go through but again end of the day it is at the discretion of the CO. Worst situation they may ask you to show some proof of re-establishing your domicile in US.

I had exactly the same question. I guess you are a non-pivot case just like us? What I can tell you is that we wrote ATTN: DR on our envelope, while the cover page says ATTN: CMR. This was by accident. The address is the same so I guess our documents will reach the correct department at NVC.

I'll documents reached NVC today according to the USPS tracking service. Does anyone know what happens next when NVC receives non-pivot cases' documents? Must we call or will the CEAC website say anything?

Once your papers have reached, NVC scans it into their system. That is essentially your "scan date". Call NVC tmr and ask if the papers you sent have been received and scanned into the system.

I see. Mine says "At NVC." Does this mean that no appointment has been scheduled and so the paperwork is still with NVC? Thank you!!

You case has been completed and in line for interview scheduling. You can call NVC to ask about your embassy scheduling. :)

Edit: The papers won't leave NVC until you are scheduled for an interview.

I just dont understand how NVC works.. so frustrating.  Here are pivot cases gettng case# in 5 weeks where as non pivots have crossed 8th week mark.. there is no clarity no order nothing .. just keep on waiting .. i thought nebraska service center ws bad but nvc seems worst.

Lol you are actually lucky considering that Nebraska usually takes no less than 250 days on average to approve I130 petition. :) Hang in there!

I thought there was someone behind the payments and not automatic rollout of payments. Ia 2-3 business days a good bet for PAID for fees or usually it takes longer?

As far as I know there isn't anyone you can contact to have it expedited. They have a time frame of usual 2-3 business days for the PAID to reflect on CEAC website. If it goes beyond 7 business days, NVC has someone look into it. Until then, it is normal automatic rollout. It took me 5 business days to reflect.

  17. 1 minute ago, Caterpillar8 said:

Guys quick question: I paid AOS and IV fees but not reflected on my bank account yet. I know it takes 2-3 days to clear payment but if I call NVC over the phone will they do it faster?

Nope, NVC has no control over it. You have to let the system take the payment on it's own. Sometimes even after the bank account reflects, the CEAC doesn't so patience is the key unfortunately. :(
