Really? They received it yesterday in the mail and scanned it today. That's too fast
Nope. It's common. I had the same. They received and then scanned it the next day. Give it a week or 10 days you should have your CC

Thanks for your insight. WOW, that seems like such a long wait...... You had a CC on 4/25 and they scheduled you 4/26 ...the next day, that was so quick. I hate to wait a whole month more, I was so ready for an end of June interview date. I trust that it will be at the perfect time. I was actually just wondering more so because I just took a job transfer out of New Jersey and need to move and was really trying to coordinate the logistics of this and a trip to India.
Mrs. CM
Yes, it was just in time when they started scheduling for Mumbai embassy. It's been a long journey I just want this done Don't worry, you are almost there too! Just scheduling is waiting. Have your spouse finish medical in the meanwhile.

Hi -
I was wondering if anyone had any insight...... NVC told me that Mumbai only notifies applicants/beneficiaries of their interview appointments at the end of the month? That doesn't seem right.... We had case complete on May 1, 2018 and that would mean that we will have to wait until the end of May to find out when his interview is. Has anyone received their notice of an interview in the middle of the month? I am perplexed....
Mrs. CM
As far as I know, you have to wait out until the end of the month for scheduling interview and may do it first week of the month although you can call and ask NVC. Some are nice enough to answer. Usually people who had in first month of May had theirs scheduled only end of the month. But I can tell you that you will definitely have yours scheduled by July or even end of June if you are lucky

30 days to have case complete from the time you submit ds261? I’ve seen on your timeline that it took 6 weeks before you receive case number from NVC.. 2 months in advance for the interview? Oh man! I hope they’ll process ours a lot faster coz we’ve waited for sooo long at Nebraska service center 😖
patience is a virtue indeed 😅
Hang in there! Are you a pivot case? Meaning are you required to upload your documents or send through mail? You can find by asking NVC. It shouldn't take 30 days to from the time you pay your online fees for NVC. Once you receive your case number (depending on pivot vs non pivot) that will take anywhere from 7 to 11 weeks, everything else goes much faster.

Thanks for the link. According to this it states that if passport is more than 6 months old you need both. And my husband has both.

Hello guys my case states was :- case was sent to the department of state for visa processing
On 1st may 2018 so how long to get nvc case number. ?
It should be another 6-8 weeks as you are non-pivot (meaning not electronic) case.

I thought one from passport office is enough. Now I heard that if our passport was issued on a date which is before 6 months from the date of visa application we have to obtain one from police office too
They require PCC from any place the applicant has resided for more than 6 months. In our case the passport clearance certificate is not from the place of my husband's residence so I had both in case they asked for the other.

Do we have to obtain PCC from both district police office and passport office in India?
My lawyer advised to having both so we have both. It's always better to have both

I got case number last night (5/1) and I try to log in but it give me this error message:
Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.
Is that normal? or should i call NVC?
Yes. Did you get your welcome email? If not, this is completely normal. It won't let you into the online payment system. If you already have, give it a day or two before you access the online payment, the website has some issues from time to time.

My AOS payment status is PAID however, I still cannot pay IV fee. Any Idea on how long do I have to wait?
Give it a day. Meanwhile call NVC to see if they are having problems on the website as such.

got it,thanx. Do they at least accept pdf files?
I am non-pivot, so I don't know what format it should be in. You should be able to see the instructions when you are uploading.

Yeah I think we'll try to get them all even though he won't technically be residing there once we get to that stage the NVC page on the US Department of State webpage wasn't very clear. It said that only if they are currently residing in a foreign country and have been there more than 6 months. But I know most people just get them from anywhere they have resided. Do you know if it's easy to get them without actually being in the country?
I was asked by my lawyer to get from every country if resided for 6 months after the age of 16. It's always safe to have it than run for it last minute. I am not sure about it being easy or not. It depends on the country.

Hey guys! We just got approved last week and I'm just looking to get prepared for the NVC stage. My husband is currently working in Italy but he's from Ireland and will be moving back by the end of the month. He's been in Italy since October and worked in Greece the year before for about 8 months. Does he need to get police certificates from Greece and Italy or just Ireland?
you are required to have police reports from every place he stayed unfortunately.

how long does it take since that point when i receive case # and upload everything online, until interview nowadays?
I cannot give you an exact time frame. Some receive their welcome email immediately while for others it takes around a week. So let's say 1 week for that online payment to open up and then another week for your payment to go through and open your DS- 260 form and upload your documents. Once that is done another week before your case is completed. So a total of 3 weeks.
Interview is embassy dependent. NVC schedules interviews either end of the month, middle of the month or beginning of the month. This you can find by calling NVC.
You have to always scan the documents not take a picture.

wow i called and they told me interview date :)) finally but it is for june 12, and her ticket is booked for june 15... now what, that might not be enough time, change ticket to what would be a safe date.
Congrats! It is best to keep travel at least 2 weeks after interview date. They usually take at least 3 business days to return your passport. You want to be safe in case they ask you to come back for some reason.

waiting on interview.. got a case complete 4/13, any idea how long it takes to hear? or a way to find out the current wait time for an embassy/consolate?
it depends on embassy and unfortunately there is nothing online to find the current wait time. Call NVC to ask when usually they schedule for your consulate. Some schedule end of the month while others do it mid of the month.

I have two unrelated question.
1. Where do you enter the date in the timeline for SD?
2. What is the CEAC status usually set to before it changes "At NVC" ?
Thanks...
1. There is no where on the timeline for SD per se. It is the day you uploaded your documents (if PIVOT)
2. it would say, "Please sumbit your documents..."

Just now, crmathew1 said:
PIVOT CASES! When you got your interview scheduled, did you find out first by calling them or through a message on CEAC or email?
Hey! If you don't mind how is yours a PIVOT case? I thought it was dependent on embassy and I see Mumbai on your timeline.

So Guys i Just called NVC and they told me that they received me case today.
P.D 10 oct 2017 TSC
NOA2 7 apriL 2018
NVC sent 19 apriL 2018
NVC received 27 apriL 2018 today.
She told me that my case will be pivot and it may take upto 8 weeks to get case number!
Hopefully they are moving on!!!
Hang in there! Pivot cases take up to 10 weeks for case number but once that wait is done, it is very smooth. You upload your documents and they take as little as 5 days to get your case completed. Good Luck!

Week ago my documents send to nvc. Shall i apply for police certificate now or shall i wait until i get case number if they needs upto date one. Thanks
You are better off getting you certificate now. Depending on the country, it should be valid up to a year or 6 months in the least.
