how soon after the case number is assign can i start step 1 to choose an agent? i tried and i get this message

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error. "

You need to wait for your welcome email to access the online payment.

I called the NVC tonight and this is actually the first time I was asked for my and my husbands name. I hope thats a good sign. We have been waiting forever. Does that mean they are plugging in the case data now?

Yes it does I think although there is no such written rule. That's what happened to me. Until they didn't have a case number, they didn't bother asking anything, and right before giving me the Case # they asked everything (only at the moment I didn't realize why they were asking all this) Good luck! :)

Hi all, I have few questions, I applied for adjustment of my status i-130 with my wife at the end of December 2017, we received the confirmation of case received, I had fingerprints taken at the end of January 2018. I still have not received work permit, how long does it usually take to get a work permit after your fingerprints are taken.>??

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks.

It takes at least 60 to 90 days before they issue EAD I think. Please check out this forum for cases similar to yours. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/131-adjustment-of-status-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

This thread is for Consular Processing :)

Wow I have not heard of this... it seems to good to be true. Do you know of anyone who has done this with success? Though it seems to be much faster, does it complicate residency / other paperwork after arriving in the states?

I am not personally aware of anyone but it is possible. but there a lot of rules that apply. you must show proof of residency and work in Ireland for at least a year before you apply for this process. There hasn't been any complications I have heard of if you are genuinely living and working with your husband outside the US.

I am suggesting this only because you are in no hurry to come back to the states meaning you have intention of completely shifting your base to Ireland.

My fiancé (Irish) and I (American) will be getting married in Ireland and then applying for a CR-1 visa to eventually return to the States. Once the CR-1 is approved, how much time do we have to get to the states? Will it expire?

We are not sure that we will want to move to the US immediately, but will be applying for it shortly after our wedding since it takes so long to process.

Any information is helpful. Thank you!

If you are in no hurry and end up spending a few years in Ireland while you work there, you can opt for Direct Consular Filing if I am not wrong. The visa issued has expiration so you have to move back in 6 months since it is approved.

Guys, I completed my DS-261 last night. I don't see any pay now button to pay the invoice. Do I need to wait for it or should I call?

Did you receive a welcome letter? If not you have to wait before the online services open up. If you did receive then you can call and ask.

National benefits center! Waiting on i-130 approval it was transferred there from Potomac.

Oh. If you are filing for Adjustment of Status meaning your spouse is already here in the US, then this is not the right thread. That is a different thread. Sorry! When the spouse is outside US, after approval of i130 it goes to National Visa Center for consular processing, not NBC

    Hi..

i sent my I-130 petition for my wife and it was received by Phoenix office yesterday...my question is ...how soon they will cash my Cheque and when will I get an email confirmation about my case been transferred to which service center...if any 1 out there recently filled or has any knowledge of this ...pls let me know ...thanks

I am not sure about when they will cash your check but you should get a receipt notice in your mail regarding confirmation of your submission along with your service center.

Hello all, my PD was September 1,2017. On March 9 USCIS transfered my case to NBC possible for an interview. Does anyone have a timeframe to when we might be getting something it has been 42 since transferring and a total of 236 of waiting.

    Any info os greatly appreciated.

National Benefits Center? or National Visa Center? If it's the former then it might have gone to the wrong place :(

Your papers will be taken by NVC and assigned a case number. And normally it takes about 8 to 11 weeks for that before you can submit other papers.
