Hello all, happy to see so many getting married and my fingers and toes are crossed for all you still waiting. I am getting ready for the move to the USA and want to get some advice on money! What is the best way to transfer funds to the usa? Take cash or traveler's cheques or wire transfer?
Anyone looked into the best accounts to save money in if leaving funds in the uk which dont get taxed by usa?
Help!! so many things to do before I fly!!

I assume he could see what the RFE was about. He also called it a “Request for Initial Information” so I truly have no clue.
Great news that things are starting to move for you.

Nope! NVC will send the petitioner a letter in the mail about your case being forward to Embassy. You just need to send your fiance(e) the I-134 with supporting documents! The rest is up to the beneficiary.
Ok great! I am the beneficiary - I see the wait for NCV has sped way up! We have the i-134 form and doc ready! I am just want to make sure I am not slowing the process down !!!

UK Filers....
Just booked my interview (23rd Feb) and then POE should be March 16th giving me an extra week in case return of my passport is slow...
Anyway - there are 2 available appointments right now on 22nd (I have a wedding to attend that day so couldn't take one), and other than that, 26th, 27th and 18th all have a couple of slots free.
Just wanted to update you since I had the knowledge.awesome news! So as a uk filer do we have to submit anything to NVC?? I have read mixed things?

Tier 2 informed fiance today that our RFE went to approved on 12th... no update online.
BUT APPROVED BABY... OMG THANK GOD!
I'm so happy right now that I will soon be out from under USCIS crappy thumb.Congratulations!
Now waiting on NVC
How long would you wait for before contact USCIS to see if they have sent you approval to NVC?
Are NVC good at sending their approval quickly to the embassy?

either of you can. But It is better if the Petitioner do it since he is the citizen I guess?
I am going to keep this fact quite!

I just had an argument with my fiance, I said as he is the petitioner so he is the one that can call USCIS and find out information. He says that I can call too, as their phone system gives an option for beneficiaries! I feel that I have read it a million times on this forum that only the petitioner can call! I am right!?
He called and got told by a tier 1 agent that we are in normal processing time!

Looking at US Government logic...
I don't expect NOA2 until February 1. Add 8 weeks for USCIS to send the files to NVC (April 1). Then add 30 days at NVC (May 1). Then add 8 weeks for an interview opening (Manila is probably the busiest embassy when it comes to visas). That is July 1 and there is still a wait for the visa after the embassy approval. So August is the most ridiculous timeline I can think of. When I filed we were supposed to be approved in early September so thinking about sitting here in January waiting on NOA2 was also a very ridiculous timeline. At this point, I honestly feel mid May at the very earliest. This will be a 12+ month process in a couple months.
This is a brutal timeline! I did my research before we started and thought the whole thing would take 5-9 months max! I hope that things speed up a little with the new year. On the bright side summer weddings are lovely

My new family should have experienced their first white Christmas last year. As an early June filer it never even once crossed my mind that my expected POE in November of 2017 will actually be a POE in June or July of 2018.
OMG June or July!! You really think its going to take that long?

Yes, this week is going to be a monster approval week!!!

Our congressman was useless, and you know what use calling USCIS does unless you are one of the lucky few.
Stay strong, it will either already be on its way or you will get news very soon.
Ugh! I know - its just so awful not being able to do anything. Thank you for all your scans!

Firstly Happy New Year all! I read this forum all the time and it has been a big help and source of much-needed support. I was lucky to have my partner visit over the holidays and it was wonderful. However, we are faced now with an unknown wait till we see each other next. We are June 6th filers and now at 214 days!
The wait is really getting me down and the thought of a 50-90 days wait for the NVC is brutal! I need to take some action!!! So far we have just been waiting. But now we have a letter congressman and my partner is going to call USCIS next week. Do you think any of this will help at all??? Or should we just keep sitting tight! I mean worst case we should be with visa by May right??
I have my fingers and toes crossed for approvals for you all and soon!

This is nothing new btw. So don't worry about that, even after the online update you wait till noa2 hard copy to come and you won't be calling NVC before a week or two anyways. Some people even got the hard copy and NVC date at the same time and got off with only 1 level of ranting hehe
but please if it's available to you register for usps informed delivery. (The link should be in my signature)
Who will receive the postal hard copy? beneficiary or petitioner? My fiance is away from the USA for a month - so we might be missing out on some important mail!?

we got the interview notice 3 weeks before the date, the whole process went much faster than we expected - maybe the Detriot office is a bit faster than other some of the other locations!
