    we got the visa actually, it took them 1 month from the interview date.
    i guess they needed the information they asked for and we sent them the right documents

    Not much you can do but wait at this point and occasionally check in for updates. They are still reviewing your case. It;s also not uncommon for extended AP due to background checks from Egypt.
    A congressperson can request an update (if there is one), but cannot influence any decision or speed one up.

    I just received the approval letter yaaay!! Weird thing is the website and application still says case received.

    You have to mail it. I'm applying from outside US and definitely have to mail it.
