Get the actual information for actual answers.  How long did she overstay?  When did she leave?  She has a ban if her circumstances warrant a ban.  What ARE the exact circumstances?
 
For example, if she overstayed in her 20s and she's now in her 40s, any ban would have passed already.  The length of the ban is going to be 10 years, if she stayed several years, so the key information is the date of her departure.

AP is for applicants who are waiting for a green card. Green card holders have zero need for AP.

Just spoke to a T2 officer, my local office is processing cases from July, 2017! He said I should hear back within a month! Let's hope others are blessed with the same news. 

So an effort to keep hope alive:
 
The official USCIS processing time says that as of Oct 31, they were processing June cases. So 2-3 months later, they should now be on August cases. If we actually believe the official processing time, that might explain why some of these Aug filers are finally hearing about their cases. We're the last few cases in August that they forgot about, but now need to get through before they can update their tracker. 
 
...okay I know the official processing time is a lie.

Still waiting... (Currently on day 157 of waiting) I did not apply for a work permit since my DACA is good till August 2018.
 
PD August 18, 2017. Last thing I got was fingerprint fee received. I've had friends who are in the same circumstances and their cases were complete within 170 days.

This is a relationship issue and has nothing to do with immigration, his cheating has no impact on any immigration process. 
 
No there is no law against cheating - what do you think it is the 1800’s?
 
Divorce if his cheating is unacceptable to your marriage.
 
Just saw you are now a citizen, this is an immigration board for immigration questions related to the immigration process not relationship questions like what should I do if my husband cheats. 

Mine isn't either. I'm hoping that the online statues are just inaccurate for us and our files are actually indeed ready to be scheduled. It'd be nice if they were consistent and prompt with the update system. What's the point of having it if it's unreliable?

Well you can usually just request to directly speak to one when you call customer service (and what they do, if you get transferred, is to call you back in a couple of hours, the T2 officer is the one calling back) although they have become more difficult to reach lately, we've read some experiences here where the T1 officer doesn't want to transfer. My case had many mistakes (i765 lost, typo on name) that no T1 officer could help me (hint: they don't have access to personal information) so the only help was a T2 officer for me. It depends on what T1 officer answers to you too because some T2 officers will just be like 'okay no problem I will transfer' and others will want to know more about your case (if it's too difficult for them they'll transfer, if just general information they'll probably want to help on their own) or why do you want a T2 officer and that they can maybe help you, etc. It's random but you can certainly try, I don't think they have a record of the times we call. But yes you can express that you are worried that no mail has come and you don't want to miss an appointment. Good luck!👍

EAD status changed to 'Card in Production' last night. FINALLY. 

My husband called USCIS yesterday to check on his EAD. He was told that our inquiry in December was never assigned someone to look at it. Then, they told him we couldn't speak to a Tier 2 officer until 2 requests went unresolved.
 
 

Hello VJ family, I want to share with you that this morning my USCIS App updated my i-485 status to Interview is Scheduled  (Your interview is on February 21, 2018).

Waah congrats! I wish we would just get the interview notice too. I want this <insert bad word here> business to be over. Let us know how it goes!
 
Btw everyone, I called on Tues and the level 1 rep was really reluctant to let me speak to a level 2 person. She set up a general inquiry SR (and also for someone to call back im a few days, which I don't know what to think of) and now it shows that it was assigned to an officer. I wouldn't be surprised if nobody calls me back and/or they send a copy-paste email saying that our case is still under review blah blah. 😧

Oh man, I feel for the guy but those kinds of cases are outliers, not the norm. It's alarming but I think the chance of this happening to most of us is low.

I had an interview today and it lasted less than 10 minutes. ( I knew I was overprepared, but did not know that much lol)
 
I thought the officer would ask me about my husband and him about me, but I was totally wrong. His focus was towards checking I was me and he was him. 
 
(Considering previous experiences I did not expect it to be in an actual office room.)
 
After the oath time, I showed my combo card and passport as an ID card, and he asked if I have a driver’s license or sth which I do not have. I said no, and he took a picture of me and two index fingerprints. 
 
After that we showed him our birth certificates, marriage certificate, and my social security card. I brought a lot of back up papers like my translator certificate and i693 instructions to prove that I do not need to submit it. However, he didn’t really check it.
 
He had the whole package we submitted, so I did not need to show him my i94 nor i94 history papers. And what he did was just reading and asking each information and check if my answer was correct. Like ‘what is your name?’ “Blah blah blah” ‘check’. He did the same thing to my husband.
 
It lead to those all no questions, and then he asked how we met, if my husband visited my home country, what he does for living, if I have a job, what I studied and so on. 
 
And then he asked for additional materials so we gave him our lease papers and medical insurance papers. He said it all looks good and I will be approved soon. I did not get a chance to submit our wedding pictures lol
 
Well, that was it. He did not want to keep anything that we brought, so I just took everything back in my bag. 
 
Now we got back home and found the online status changed to ‘New Card Is Being Produced’.
 
When the card arrives, my journey would be over. Cannot believe it, but I am so glad that it would. I hope everyone would get a positive update really soon.
 

Also, no case status update either. No text or email. Only Mail. 

Well after 167 days I got this on the mail:
 
"Request for applicant to appear for initial interview" and interview date is 22nd February. 
 
Still no EAD though and still a typo on my first name lol
 
I guess it is progress...

I called USCIS today to check up on the status of my I-485 case. When I was in the process of expediting my combo card, the Tier 2 officer said my case was "ready to be scheduled for an interview" on October 5th, but it never got updated on the online tracking system. He said that if it didn't update in January (this month), to just call back and request for them to take a look. During my initial call, the call center person did not want to connect me to a Tier 2 officer and basically told me to "be patient and await my turn".. I called back a little while later and the next person immediately put my request in and I got a callback after 3 hours. The Tier 2 officer was very friendly, looked at my case, and told me that my case was still pending, nothing changed, but that the current processing time at my field office (Washington DC) for family based adjustment was "45 days from now", and that I would be hearing something from USCIS by mail very soon. I am not sure if she meant that I will get a letter in ~45 days, or that I will have my interview in ~45 days. In my excitement I forgot to ask for clarification, but oh well.. that's good news to me! Hopefully this gives others here some hope as well :)!!

That's a good question. We August filers are reaching six months at this point so I wouldn't be surprised if we (the ones who have NOT received EAD/AP) just get our interviews and green cards without ever receiving the EAD/AP.

@Greencard188 Impossible to know the answer to your question. There is no set timeline USCIS must follow. I suggest just calling regularly and asking to talk to a level 2 rep. I also will be taking pics of my mailbox just in case.

Make an Infopass ASAP!! Take your papers with you and maybe even a statement from someone at your post office stating the appointment letter was never delivered.

Oh dang I hope it hasn't driven you crazy! Just try to keep busy with your husband and not think about it too much. The offices are a whole different dimension. Maybe it's like the Upside Down from Stranger Things!
