Hello everyone
I created this topic to post some information about applying for US passport .
I became a US citizen on June 12, 2020 and I applied for US passport on June 15 2020. I was told that the process will take so long until I get my passports but I want to encourage those who became US citizens to apply to get their passports. I will be receiving my passport this Friday 08/14/20 . It took 8 weeks. Good luck to everyone .

I opened the link and posted the same information then a pop up message showed as a warning that there were many viruses

Are you making progress on U.S. passport applications?
Yes. Every Thursday, we will publish U.S. passport statistics in the table below so you can track our weekly progress as staff at our agencies and centers safely work on applications. This week, 14 of our agencies and centers moved to phase one of our three phase reopening plan. You can find historical U.S. passport statistics on our Reports and Statistics page.
Wednesday) Applications Received Passports AwaitingIssuance Passports Issued This Week (June 18-24) 134,000 1.61 million 187,000 Last Week (June 11-17) 120,000 1.72 million 154,000 2 Weeks Ago (June 4-10) 92,000 1.79 million 38,000 *The number of passports currently awaiting issuance is only a slight increase compared to what we have awaiting issuance in normal circumstances during June.

congrats fellow new citizens! has anyone applied for their passport?
Thank you 😊, I applied for my passport on June 15 and I am still waiting . I check my passport status on weekly basis and it shows “ In process” I don’t mind waiting. I am glad I applied for it cause there may be another lock down if we get hit by Covid -19 second wave .

Thank you so much, I really did not remember which photo was that lol. I looked at my photo and was like “ Oh I looked a bit different in this photo” 😀
I just checked the picture I took of my green card before turning it in and the one on my green card was different from the one on my Naturalization Certificate. The one on the naturalization was the picture they took when I had my biometric done for the naturalization process.

Hello everyone
I just had my Oath Ceremony today in Clevland.
It went so smoothly. Thanks to all the support from visa journey and to all those who shared their experiences.
Good luck to everyone and always remember that "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" 😊

Were the ceremonies in Cleveland going to be at the court or was it a different location?
All ceremonies here in Nashville are usually at the court, which early at the start of the pandemic decided to close, and they are still closed until the end of June at least. I was not expecting to be scheduled for a ceremony yet, but USCIS probably decided to take over and hold these at their offices. Maybe that is the case with Cleveland.
It is very annoying to get your hopes up and down so often, though.
Nothing is clear . They don’t announce anything . They just cancel scheduled ceremonies, interviews, etc. It is so frustrating. That’s why I won’t check anymore.

How many November 2019 filers are waiting for their oath ceremony ?

Great news but wish there had been a push for naturalization interviews as well, that's a significantly bigger backlog than those waiting for the oath. The interviews seem to have been forgotten.
I hope they push for virtual interviews too
