In Hawaii, we were able to get SS card easily in Maiden name and arrived in mail quite quickly..30 days after applied.
After we were married and received Marriage Certificate(arrived 40 days after wedding ceremony and applied 3 days after wedding) we went to DMV to get ID or Drivers Permit..denied due to SS card in Maiden name.
We were told to go to SS to change name first. SS could not do anything because we filed AOS and was in Pending...
Visa is expired now..so we have to wait for receipt of AOS and wait for SS to be able to change name from after Pending..
This thread is good..wish we saw it earlier..and applied for Drivers Permit when she first arrived, before things expired.

Thank you for the information.. will take the advise..

I am filing my taxes here in USA with new wife and her child. Child does not have SS# yet and this is making error on my H&R block filing. SS# is applied for, we just currently sent in application for green card and I-765 (box checked for assign her a SS#) AOS packet sent in 1/24/2019
Seeking tax advice for Child dependent since no SS# (file without SS#)
or should I just delete her information so as to avoid audit situation.

We enjoyed Coron..first time there..no complaints.
One boat tour all day long and lunch encluded, great beaches to go to on tour..great snorkeling. BYOB
Rented motorcycle and circled Busuanga Island and found Ocam Ocam beach..absolutely beautiful, fun fun ride..
and found the best Seafood restaurant called La Sirenetta Seafood Restaurant & Bar...this a must eat at for those who appreciate great food and the price was so very inexpensive it was ridicules. Fresh Mahi Mahi or Fresh Ono meal for 400 peso, worth $30 USD if was in USA and Shrimp pasta with lemon, butter and basil for 300 peso, worth $30 USD in any USA restaurants.. ICE COLD BEER!!
Our hotel was walking distance from main road and restaurants, Haven 1916 B&B so it was quiet and yet close to everything..never used trikes..just motorcycle if feel like exploring..or walk into restaurant area.. 4.5star on hotel..good wi fi. 1500peso and up..includes breakfast.
Will go again..pictures in our profile..

How was Hong Kong and Macau? It seemed like an interesting trip for the family since the kids have never flown. Just a chance for us to all go away together and bond.
It was ok good..I was hoping Jesicca would really enjoy the area..but..sad to say..she got food sickness..she no like the local food of China..
Macau is big Las Vegas..and Hong Kong is Super City..beautiful lights..we did Victoria Top of mountain at sunset..very beautiful..lots of people doing the tourist things..and take note..hehe..lots of OFW everywhere gathering..Jesicca enjoyed seeing them all everywhere in large groups just enjoying their days off..

Naia 3, at airport was easy..AirAsia check in held our ticket until we returned with receipt..easy..small queue took about 10 minutes at 5am

Haha..We just did Hong Kong and Macau too..and Thailand...early honeymoon for us..
Good to know that the travel tax won't have to be paid again a month later..

or...reschedule after being told papers not ready..
then you need to reset MRV number(visa payment receipt) which can take 1 to 3 weeks..it took 1 week for our K-1 and 3 weeks for our K-2
Best advice, make sure that items are at Embassy and ready to interview before making your appointment. lesson learned..
but the good news...Oct 2 we got our interview..and "APPROVED"

We have stayed in the Red Planet Aseana (pasay) near mall of asia..small room, great price, clean..easy to get to embassy..
-
Jesicca was asked that on Sept 7th Manila CFO.
She just verbally explained that we had permission, her mom and I talked, and I talked with mom again with messenger and had taken screenshot of again mentioning that I have permission to marry Jesicca.
Jesicca did not bring the proof to CFO but we did have proof..
And Jesicca's age is 24, so it's in the age group where they ask.
Just thought I would add to that since it came up.

Good news, able to finally get a hold of USEM..
Bad news:
Being that we used the MRV receipt number to schedule the interview before packet arrived to USEM, our MRV NEEDS To be reset.
Will update on how long this process is...
Jumping the gun..put a week plus delay..
Patients, make sure things are in order..
Other good news..
Found beautiful wedding dress at
Tutuban..
Divisoria area..happy happy..

Thought I would give my opinion to hotels..
We did stay in Hyatt City of Dreams
And
Red Planet Aseana in Pasay 1 block from city of dreams.
Mall of Asia quick taxi or free shuttle bus from COD.
Both have plenty of taxi service.
Close to airport(taxi doesn't usually use, have to say-use sky Express toll 35 peso to and from airport saves lots of traffic time or worries of timing)and Roxas Blvd so embassy is easy 10 minutes when no traffic early morning..@150peso.
So for central, both..
But
Red planet is small clean room..small..but simple..I paid @40usd.
I use Agoda for my hotel booking in Asia.
City of Dreams is nice, 5 years old new...
All the amenities, pool and casino..lots of food for pay...
Up to you on what to pay or how much you want to use the hotel.
I very much like both, since 10 minutes from airport..up to you to go big or not..
And, just my opinion..ty

Green Card is in mail, and from tracking, it is already in Honolulu..
We interviewed Tuesday 8am and it was fast and easy..
we gave them evidence as in photos, joint account bank statements, insurance card and even vehicle registered in our names..
but we both felt like it was already a slam dunk at interview time..K-2 was with us..and the fact that "wife" is 5 months pregnant was enough evidence of proof of relationship..
K-2 is in 1st grade, and she was asked simple questions..interviewer looked at wedding pictures and vacation pictures and smiled and said congratulations.
Monday our Green Cards will be in the mailbox...Tuesday..Drivers License and Social Security...
