THEY SAID APPROVED and her passport is with TMM.  TMM called and told her Fri or next Tuesday, Monday is Victory day.

I didn't get to go in with her (rona restrictions), but she came out and gave me a smile and a nod and we went to celebrate with some friends in Cherkassy for the weekend.

    So...
    -  We did the Med Exam (at IOM/MOM) the week before - 21 Apr.
    -  They didn't request a new Police Report from her, but we did one anyway.
    -  They DID request (by phone no less) a new tax return from me.  Great I'm in Ukraine and all my stuff was in Maine.  Got pics of the 1099s sent and did the return, emailed and submitted at CEAC.
    -  And of course the day before while packing for the trip to Kyiv my original Divorce docs were nowhere to be found!  SERIOUSLY?  There were copies, but no originals.  Turned out to be a nonissue.  They were more concerned that there weren't any couple pics in the stack of docs. lol.

So now we have to wait for the UA Pension Dept. to grind out her retirement.  She just hit 60 Apr 26th.

I was hoping to be back in Maine by Memorial Day, but not so sure about that now.

We did not (Istanbul, which has its own issues due to executive orders from a few years ago), but the passport checker there also asked if we had our packet and we just needed to flash it to him.

The airlines are just trying to do their due diligence to make sure you're able to enter the country. My assumption is that the responsibility is on them if you get deported back because of invalid documentation, either via a fine or you have to be put on one of their flights for free. We especially go through a rigamarole in Ukraine because they need to validate that we're allowed to take my step-daughter out of the country. That plus actual visas, plus COVID tests, plus the packet. We want to fly back to Kyiv in the fall for a quick trip, and I'm already worried that they won't know what a parole document is for re-entering the US.

Also, I have to say, you're pretty brave sticking the immigration packet into checked luggage. 😆 I treated that thing like a baby until we handed it off to a CBP officer. I was constantly terrified somebody would rip it open during our journey because they didn't know what it was.

UPDATE:  Its SO good to be HOME..TOGETHER.

We arrived in Boston June 25, spent the night in Portsmouth NH and drove home to (now) Dixmont, ME on Sat the 26th.  We are now settling in and getting started on making our cabin habitable and awaiting the arrival of her Green Card...which isn't actually green, but I digress.

In BOS they were sending all Immy visa holders to a side room where (I think) CBP made online checks of everyone's Med records.  So why the disk?  Any way, all is good and it only took about 10 minutes.

Its been awhile since I last stopped in, TBH I've been in a real funk being apart from my bride.

    The GOOD NEWS:
I finally got into the Interview scheduler and we have a date set for Apr 29 in Kyiv.  Major load off my heart there.
I already registered for PP delivery (its on our Dash Board at least).

I'm trying find whether or not I need to schedule the Med Exam tho or is just walk in?

I'll keep digging, but if anyone chimes in, I'd be much obliged.

    Stay safe out there,
    Tim

And now it's telling me "you're approaching the maximum amount of times you can view this page." (referring to the appointment scheduling page) These people really don't want appointments to be scheduled, do they?

THANKS!  I thought a day or 2 prior was the norm.  I'm returning to UA the 20th so I suppose we could schedule it for the 21st.

Must discuss it with her first, but it would reduce the number of nights spent in a hotel.

It turns out our translator agrees with you.  All we need now are the blank pages from her new passport and the translation of my TRP & ZHEK registration showing that I live with her when in UA, which is most of the time.  I have and will be renewing TRP for the 2nd year in Jan.  I may end up with PR before this is finished.
