  1. I received a letter through the mail stating that I had turned right on a red light without coming to a full stop first. It included photographic evidence of the same.

It was a letter from the local <what I would call> "council" and it clearly stated within that letter that this was not a citation and would only turn into one if I didn't pay the $70 fine. It also stated that there would be no record on my drivers license (again, unless I did not pay the fine and then the matter would be handed over to the local sheriff department).

I'm an Australian and I'd say it was three months before I stopped saying - out loud to myself - stay to the right, stay to the right.  Even now, I tend to drive too close to the left side of the lane naturally.

And being from Australia,  it must have been really difficult driving on the opposite side of the road then combined with driving the right way up as opposed to upside down under.

As my experience shows the Border Patrol Officers are not as strict as the rules. They always try to provide the best solution. I lost my GC right before the flight, fortunately, UA let me on board just with a copy of my GC and an extension letter. I knew from the very beginning that I will be sent to secondary inspection and I barely had any documents on me, just a re-entry permit that has expired in December, same day as CGC.  The secondary inspection officer just asked me several questions and let me in. I think it is worth a try.

Only because one of you is Batman!!

  4. We were married 6 or 7 years when we visited the US on vacation after flying in from India (I'm a UK citizen, my better half and the munchkins are US citizens). On arriving at Detroit, I was asked

Official: Where did you fly from?

    Me: Mumbai, India

Official: How long you planning to stay here for ?

    Me: 6 weeks (on ESTA)

Official: Do you have an address?

Me: We own a home in xxxx

Official: Do you have a return flight?

    Me: Yes:

    Official: Show me?

    <>

    Official: Enjoy your stay...

I wouldn't worry as long as you are straight forward and truthful...

    Agree with you.

In ny opinion DACA, Lottery visa and sibling visa need to be eliminated, but other family migration expect siblings should continue.

An amazing thread...a mixture of emotions, opinions and heresay. Pitting one group against another; just like in real life..Citizens against Muslims, Siblings against DACA. Exactly what the Administration hoped would happen. Very dangerous...

Did anyone see the recent the White House spiel on chain migration - entire villages were relocating to the United States in 1 year? And the other one on the "fact" that virtually all terrorists currently on trail within United States territory are foreign born IMMIGRANTS? And they have the gumption to call out fake news in our media when they manipulate the truth. If you were to look into the details on the terrorist immigrants: all captured overseas and brought to US terrorists for trial. Yes I suppose they are immigrants as they had to be admitted to face trial and they are terrorists, or at least pursued as such.

Immigration for all of us is very emotional. That can be see everyday on this forum but don't let the emotions over rule rational thought. We all know someone going through a horrendous time with regards to DACA, AOS or some other form of immigration.

    Peace out....

This is going to be harsh but -

Dude, sure you and a bunch of other guys are in love - based on her Facebook page. Also there are selfies of her and a guy laid down and some with the kids, but in some of the photos she looks super young.

Plus you have three Facebook profiles friends with her which is interesting.

From a Brit, this is about as harsh as it gets...! :jest:

    Merry Christmas...

Sorry but this is pegging out my BS meter.   A one way ticket on a B visa to me is a big red flag showing immigration intent.

I do love a good conspiracy theory

we met in person in Paris at Charles De Gaule airport when i was stranded in an ice storm with all ATM's down

This is a normal day at CDG, except for the ice storm; lost baggage, broken down baggage carousels, strikes, power cuts, diverted aircraft. Nice to see that some good came out of your experience!
