you can just contact to the embassy. I believe you can extend up to 3 times equaling 1 year each extension would be for 4 months.
4 months from noa2 unless extended.

If he hasn't had his interview yet let him contact the embassy to ask for possibilities to extend. I believe you have 6 months to do the interview but I could be mistaken. After the interview the visa is valid for another 6 months (depends on the validity of the medical, so check that!). No need to cancel right now as it will force you to start all over. Guys, I just got approved today.

Just wanted to provide an update. I completed my medical exam in Toronto last Tuesday and just picked up my results. My interview is next Wednesday. Super excited!!

I'm really praying that NVC receives it within the next 10 days. 

I would say that means your case has not left USCIS yet. To wait until NVC gets it. It took about 2 months for some, 10 days for others.. We can never know.

Here is the message I just received from the NVCresearch. Now at this point what am I supposed to do? And can USCIS send cases directly to the beneficiary consulate without going thru NVC? Is it possible?

How do you know when NVC receive cases? because my case was approved on November 15th, NVC still hasn't it. I called USCIS today and they told me it has not been sent yet. I asked so when will it be sent to NVC, they don't know.The notice approval expires on March 13 2018,can someone tell me what to do because i spent the day crying.The case is approved, why wait that long again to have it sent out to NVC?

Waited 6 months for NOA2 now we have to wait this long again for NVC while when you check some people timeline NVC got their case like 5 days or less after case approval.😏😔😔

You need to submit originals with original signatures. I ended up needing to do the same thing and sent it international for $35 or something equally ridiculous.

When I was in India, I wrote the letter of intent using a blue ink and signed it, scanned and e-mailed it to my wife (then fiancee). She took a colour printout and sent it off with the I-129F forms. We were approved without any problem. Good Luck.

Ok and did you have any engagement party before? We both are from the Ivory Coast so that mean his Casier Judiciaire suppose to come from there right?
