logisticamente got a reaction from etapia in K1 After NOA2 Dominican Republic.
I got mine 3 days after my interview.. but I was obviously not put in AP.
Good Luck!! If the only thing "wrong" was the medical results you should be fine.. is just a little hiccup

Hello!
K1 petition hoping to get NOA2 sometime next month (September), I've been trying to prepare for the next steps to make but the Dominican websites are very confusing so I have some doubts on what is supposed to happen post-NOA2 when you are dealing with the Dominican Republic. If someone who has already been through this could answer please!
Im not going to bore you with a list of the steps I already know.. here is what I am not sure of:
1- after NVC assigns you a number and they forward your case to the embassy, do you submit the form DS-160? or you have to wait until you have an interview date?
2- do you get an assigned interview date and time or you choose it?
3- do you also have to make a separate appointment at the VAC for Biometrics?
4- This Famous Packet 4... Do I really need it? and what should I do if I don't ever receive it?
5- Do I have to send any documents to the NVC or the embassy prior to the interview?
6- my fiance is not planning on attending the interview at the embassy, is it really necessary for him to do so? he is a USC.
7- Is the Police Certificate the same as an: Acta de Buena conducta or Cartificado de No Antecedentes Judiciales??
Sorry for all the questions but I've ready many other posts and the wiki page and these items were a bit unclear for me.
Thanks!

yes. but note that you are at risk of not being able to make it to the appointment since you need that notification in order to go to the medical and it takes a week to get the results

I would start by making an infopass appointment, bringing all those letters you have received, copies of you application, etc and demand to speak with a supervisor if the officer cannot figure it out..

Just got an email saying EAD is approved and card is being produced. Yay! Nothing about AP and no status update messages about AP yet but I suspect it'll come soon.

I know you didn't ask me this.. but I just had my interview yesterday so I thought I could help.
My husband and I were together the entire time. There was only one couple that got interviewed separately and long while we were waiting (about an hour), we saw at least 5 other couples go in and come out (I didn't really count) They didn't ask any personal questions, just where in my country we went for our honeymoon. after that my husband was pretty much ignored the whole time and it was all about me and the I-485 form. It was neither.. in my case it felt like he was just doing it because "he had to check that box".. which I guess is good? but like I said in my previous post, he wasn't mean or disrespectful, he just seemed like he didn't wanna have a conversation but just get over the mandatory questions. Hope this helps!

My wife's Green Card arrived this past Thursday. We're done with this process for now... until two years from now when we will have to do Removal of Conditions. Now on to other things, like getting a new Social Security card in her married name and getting a driver's license and a car.

For me it took about a week for it to say "card was mailed" and then 2 days after that for the card to come in the mail

I got approved!!! Finally!!! Today, i talked to tier 2 officer again, and she told me that my ead is in production. I am so relieved. She said call us back on tuesday or wednesday, and we can give tracking number.
By the way, both online case status page and myaccount.uscis page still shows received. But, this morning app showed me an alert that there is change in my case. It showed no change, but I got approved, yeeyy:)

Hi!
I did follow everything as it says here.
Something to note is you need to bring a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate
the electronic version of the certificado de no antecedentes penales is enough (I know it looks kind of unofficial) no translations needed. All your docs should be in english or in spanish for this step.
I went to the interview with my husband. But there were plenty of people there who went alone and got approved. I must say they got asked TONS of questions while we only got asked where we met, how we met, if I was legally in the U.S. while I was working here, and I think that's it.
they didn't take my affidavit of support (even though is in the list they give you).. they said it wasn't needed for K1s but I would bring it anyways just in case. (and you need it for AOS anyways.. so it is not wasted time)
Let me know if you have any more questions. Im happy to help

OMG Mil Gracias!!! this is exactly what I needed!!
I've seen your timeline before and I was wondering how you managed to get such a close interview from the consulate received date.. You just didn't wait for none-one (love the attitude btw).
Now Im just curious how does the embassy gets your email address... I dont remember writing that anywhere in the i-129f... hehehe NVM I just saw you are the petitioner, petitioner's email IS in the form..
And extra THANK YOU for the medical interview-email printing info...
Congrats on the approval!!

Just a word of warning to everyone, and to vent a little ... be really careful when considering traveling with Advance Parole.
After sooooo many months apart, my husband came here in September, we were married in November, and life has been wonderful. His EAD/AP was approved and combo card received in January. We thought it would be really great for him to return to his home country (Dominican Republic) for a visit with family now that he could travel, and to do so before he gets a job that would interfere with potential travel. So, we bought him a round trip ticket and off he went 2 days ago.
His wallet was either lost or stolen in the airport during his arrival in Dom Rep. He no longer has his EAD/AP combo card. I wasn't too alarmed at first, as this kind of happens all the time and I'm sure there's a protocol for it. However, it seems there is not. The letter received with the combo card specifically says "if the card is lost or stolen while you are out of the country, contact the nearest embassy for a travel document". Of course, when contacting the embassy, they say they can't help with it and to contact USCIS. USCIS says to contact the embassy. USCIS also advises that he can apply for a new card, complete with the typical +/- 3 month wait time and paying all the fees again, but it can only be done from within the US. He can't get to the US without the card.
Of the dozens of people I've talked or emailed with at USCIS HQ, USCIS Dom Rep, State Dept, and Embassy, there's one common theme: It's not their agency that handles it.
Someone online suggested something called a "boarding foil" or "travel letter" but the embassy tells me those are only for if you lose your green card, and all of the info I can find online says the same. I read one story of someone in Rome getting it with a situation similar to ours (pending AOS w/ approved EAD/AP), but that seems to have been a fluke or a mistake on the embassy's part.
I just want to cry. This was supposed to be a happy trip for him to see his family and now we don't even know how many months may go by before he can come home.
Luckily he has photocopies of everything with him. After spending all day on the phone with government agencies, my only hope is that the airline will allow him to board the airplane with photocopies of the lost EAD/AP card and the approval notice, and that CBP will subsequently admit him. It seems like a long shot, but it seems logical that these things happen and CBP should be able to look in the computer, see that he has pending AOS and approved AP, and let him in. I imagine they'll give him a hard time, but hopefully they let him in. If not, I don't know what to do.
Had I known how unreasonable the government is in such a situation, I never would've encouraged my spouse to take this trip. I strongly encourage everyone to wait until you have LPR status before leaving the country.
