Hi everyone! I just want to share my interview experience in US EMBASSY MANILA yesterday, August 23,2017, 6:40AM.. especially to those who are going to have their interviews in Manila. :))

I arrived in US Embassy at 5AM. The guard let us in around 5:40.. You have to show them your APPOINTMENT LETTER, DS160 and passport..

we waited for 10-15 Minutes before they let us move to Data entry.. At the DATA entry, they gave us ziplock where we will place the passport.. They also took our ds160.. they will put a sticker on it then they will give you instructions where ypu should go..  They gave us back the DS160..

    Next is FULL BODY SCANNER

And then another FULL BODY SCANNER before you can proceed to the main building where you will have your prescreening, biomedical and FINAL INTERVIEW.

    PRESCREENING - Window 52

I was already inside, I was the first in the Letter C lane.. The windows were still closed.. The assistant told us to prepare the documents already BIRTH CERTIFICATE, NBI CLEARANCE, CENOMAR, MRV SLIP AND MEDICAL RECORD(BROWN ENVELOPE)..

the windows already opened and I went to the first available windows already. I greeted her good morning. She was a Filipino consul.. I gave her my DS160..

    Questions:

    • What is your name?
    • Birthday?
    • What is your relationship to the petitioner?
    • Where did you meet? How?
    • When did the romantic relationship start?
    • If both of us have children?
    • How old are you?
    • How old is he?
    • Have you ever been to other countries?
    • Have you ever been to Mindanao? I said YES. She asked where?

Then she gave me back my ds160 and told me to proceed to window 43 for finger scanning

FINGER SCANNING Window 43. American Consul. He was the one with a very bad temper and he yells at applicants who cannot follow instructions. 😂 But I still greeted him a very good morning and a wide smile anyway😊I silently talked to myself that I better do well here or else I'll piss him off. I kept wiping my hands with my handkerchief..

    he only asked me

    • what is your name?
    • Birthday

SUDDENLY, He was giving me a tissue paper. I thought he was giving it to me to wipe my hands because I was wiping my hands in my handkerchief 😂 I wiped my hands using the tissue paper but he said NO. The finger scanner, wipe it off😂😂😂😂 Omg. *face palm*

Then he told me to place my fingers on the scanner. He kept telling me PRESS HARD. I said to myself. What? Hard?😏 So I did. I pressed it hard. But he kept telling me to PRESS HARDER🤣 So I placed my other hand so I can press it waaaay harder just like what he wants😂 So it's good. Then the other hands and two thumbs. :)) All good. He put a stamp on my DS160. then gave it back to me, said proceed to the interview.

FINAL INTERVIEW- WINDOW 66. A very nice American woman. :)) Always smiling and we laughed together. She just seems like a friend to me. It doesn't feel like an I thought it felt like just a conversation between two friends😂 I greeted her HI, MAAM! Good morning! :)) She smiled at me and greeted me good morning too and asked how I am doing. I said I'm great and I asked her back ☺️

I gave her again my ds160. She took it and told me to wait

When she came back she started to ask me

    • What is your name?
    • How long you've been together?
    • What do you like about your fiancé?
    • When was the last time he visited you?
    • What did you do when he was here? I said we went to Baguio city, had our engagement photoshoot and then he proposed again for the 2nd time. She laughed 😂
    • What? Is first time not enough? I said I guess not ma'am, he wanted to propose with ring. Then I showed her my left hand where my ring is. Her smile was really wide already. :D
    • Do you have wedding plans? I said yes and then she asked me what plans?
    • Where are you going? I said Chicago Illinois
    • What can you say about Chicago? I just said what I remembered 😂😂 I said, there's a lake in there, Michigan Lake, Sears tower and GIANT BEAN!😂 she laughed again when she heard the giant bean😂 She said, OH YEAH, that's what I like about Chicago, too, I call it giant bean too😂. -- Now I'm regretting I forgot about the DEEP DISH PIZZA🤣

Then just checked my papers again.. Then she said I SEE NO PROBLEM, looks good.. You are approved. Then she gave me two pamphlet explained it to me.. I couldn't focus anymore, I started to cry.. then she repeated what she told me she said CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE APPROVED! WAIT FOR YOUR VISA IN 6-10 working days.. Have a nice day! 😍 I thanked her so much ☺️

SHE didn't take any of my fiancé's documents. Not even the form i-134 and the supporting documents! Just my documents. She didn't even asked for our pictures. :))

THANK YOU, LORD! Finally! I'm done!

Ticket already booked last August 4 😂 Big risk but my fiancé had so much faith 😊 Good thing I made it! I'll finally be with him in 9 weeks. Yes 😂 :D I wanted to take my time and spend more time with my family first. :))

Tips for everyone: ALWAYS WEAR A BIG SMILE AND GREET EVERYONE IN THERE. :)) It will always be a great help to lighten up their moods. 😊

Pray and pray and pray 😊

    :jest:

I'm so happy for you!!!! Sounds like a great interview. You should share this experience in the Philippines section of VJ. I'm sure many people would love to hear about it!

Looks like we are one of the last here still waiting for an approval. Congrats to all of those that have already moved on.  Hoping we hear something soon.

Have you tried talking to Tier 2? I think after CSC received my service request (sent to them by Tier 2) that's when they worked on my case again. They emailed on August 15 saying they got the service request and will work on my case. Now I'm approved. Give it a try :)

There are plenty of Marchies left........ Some I can think of right off include.....   @Ste&Sel @SimplyBlessed @AfricanQ @FutureMrsBennett and from February filing is @Camie

They don't do them in order, that's for sure!

For those tagged here still waiting on NOA 2, try to contact Tier 2 and ask if they'd be kind enough to fill in a service request for you even if you're within "processing time"

the first tier 2 officer we spoke to told us it hasnt been 60 days since RFE and I told him, "I know that sir, but we're part of a visa forum and many people who had RFE's weeks after me have gotten approved, so I know for a fact theyre already working on RFE cases in Feb and March" and then he said that's just how it is, everyone has to wait their turn. To which I said, "So, I guess there isn't much you can do for me huh" in a sad voice LOL and he said "Well, I can try and put in a service request for you" and I think that did helped speed up the process to NOA2. :)

Hope everyone else waiting will hear good news this week or the next. We all deserve to be with our loved ones! ❤️

Good afternoon everyone day 61 of waiting for RFE response called USCIS after work today. First agent I spoke to was a rude jerk straight out refused to transfer me. I called again and am waiting for call back from Tier 2 officer. It has been 179 days since NOA1 what will it take to receive kind service from USCIS employes lol?

I'm on day 67. At least you're not alone? Haha let me know what tier 2 says cause I called them on day 61 and they just told me to keep waiting haha

I think I know that tier2 with a Japanese wife. My fiance spoke to that officer too two times before. He's really nice but How come he has no idea if you got approved or not? He has access to the system. He can see whats going on with our cases.

How long has it been since you received the email from them?

I'm guessing they really haven't made a decision yet that's why he has no idea.

we got the reply to the service request just around Aug 15.

On august 6 we emailed csc and told all our frustrations about the case. I even said there to let my email message be seen and read by an officer. I told them how its taking so long and that it will reach the 5-month period the next few days. So I asked them if they could give us a real update about our I-129f petition. On august 11 We received an email from csc (see attached  image below) and that was their response. It gave me hope, that at least they are now working on it, I suppose. So I waited and hoped for a good news coming the whole week and it never came. My fiance called uscis and spoke to a tier 2 officer and he said right now no officer was assigned to our case yet, andy f said well u guys said its currently adjudicating and he said back well im not sure if its sitting on an officer desk right now and waiting in line or maybe its still on the shelves. My hope was immediately dropped from 100 to zero real quick. I just dont understand why they would send us as an email as response to our inquiry telling us our case is currently being adjudicated and then tells us differently now saying our case was not assigned to an officer yet. It made me so confused! Someone please enlighten me. They are so inconsistent. We got our hopes up when we received their email a week ago and when my fiance called this morning I was crashed. 😭☹️IMG_9953.thumb.JPG.f5d7201bb306d707f13587b1f1f7d697.JPG

This really sucks, you guys :( I sympathize.

We got an RFE last June 2. We replied and they received it June 16. It's been two months and still no word. We also did a service request and they sent us the exact same message you guys got! We spoke to Tier 2  as well and he said he has no idea if they've approved us or not and we can only wait. He also said he knows how it feels because he went through the exact same situation with his Japanese fiance. lol

K-1 Fiancee visa or IR/CR-1 spouse visa .. with both you need to have a U.S. residency.

    Your aunt's address will work.

Here is a link to the embassy instructions letter for the K-1, it lists everything that is required, which include a copy of the petitioner most recent tax return and W2 (yes your fiance must submit an I-134 also even if he did not have income from the USA).   Your aunt as a co-sponsor may or may not be accepted (this is where married would be better as the embassy is required to accept any qualified co-sponsor)

And one more comment; being your fiance is starting college in the USA he should include a letter stating so, plus copies of enrollment... just a suggestion.

As an added note, because of your fiance being a former Philippine (or dual) citizen, the embassy will very likely ask for a CENOMAR from him as well.

This is an extremely informative answer!

Thank you Hank_! I'll take note of everything you've said and prepare.

  8. Hi everyone, I wanted to post to see if anyone has information about the interviews and the consulars asking for proof of domicile of the petitioner.

    Here's our situation:

My fiance (petitioner) is a US citizen, since he was 12 years old. He got his citizenship through parents. He has never actually lived in the US but now we plan to move there to live together as soon as I get my proper visa. Or, he might go ahead to NYC because he will start school on September 11. My interview will probably be at the end of September.

    My questions:

    1. Do they ask for proof of his residency in the US embassy? I know they usually ask for affidavit of support (I-134) and his aunt who lives in the US already sent us all the requirements as a co-sponsor.

    2. People are saying we should've gotten married first and applied for the spousal visa but wouldn't they also ask for proof of domicile? The only difference is we're already married but if he's still a resident of the Philippines, it doesn't make a huge difference, does it?

Hope someone can give me insight on my issue! Thanks :)

  9. I called USCIS and spoke to tier 2 again just a few minutes ago. They still don't have an update on my case, except for the service request email I got saying  " we're actively working on your case" blah blah "you can expect a decision within 45 days" ARE U KIDDING ME.

Tier 2 officer says that's all the information he can get, and he sympathizes because his wife is Japanese and they went through the exact same thing. Haha

KILL ME IM DYING FROM WAITING

I just got off the phone with tier 2, they told me they sent something in the mail yesterday. Praying it's NOA2! So you should be hearing soon

OH MY GOD FINALLY!!!!! I HOPE IT'S YOUR NOA2 AND THAT MINE IS COMING SOON!!! Please update me when you can! I'll be sending you positive thoughts :)

Btw, the tier 2 officer couldn't tell you what they sent you in the mail?

  11. So, we're on day 56 waiting for NOA2 after RFE. The way things are going, it seems a lot of us are stuck waiting for NOA2 and I've seen some people say they'll contact their congressman because Tier 2 is no help.

My dilemma is that my fiance and I are both in the Philippines. He has no congressman because he has lived in the Philippines (got his citizenship through parents but hasnt really lived in the US -- dont worry we have family in the US and they will be our sponsors/affidavit of support) so who the heck do we contact for help if we still don't get a NOA2 after 60-80 days?! :|

What was missing on your G325 form? Sorry for too many questions im kinda trying to compare it with ours.

Please keep us posted here on VJ with NOA2 or updates so we'll have an idea on how it works. Thank you so much!

On the checklist it said this:

    1. Submit two completed and signed Forms G-325A, Biographic Information; one for you and one for your

beneficiary. Except for name and signature, you do not have to repeat the information given on your Form I-129F.

So we didn't repeat/fill up everything because some info was already on the I-129F form. They told us to fill it up completely and resubmit. :|

  14. 31 minutes ago, qqq said:

Have you tried calling them? And whats the reason for RFE? If you dont mind me asking?

I did call them, even talked to Tier 2. They told me to wait 60 days, and the tier 2 officer sent in a service request to CSC for my case and told me the response to that might take 15-20 days. So its really just more waiting.

Reason for RFE was uncomplete G325-A form & more evidence of relationship because our photos didn't have dates on them even though I submitted photos throughout our 5 years together and established that he currently lives in the same country as me. So we replied with more photos (screencaps from Facebook with dates and comments from family/friends), letters of intent and more proof of our travels together (passport stamps and more photos)

  15. Hi everyone!

I'm currently waiting for my NOA2 while being stuck on "response to RFE received" status. We filed our petition in Feb 2017, got an RFE June 2, got the snail mail June 15 & we responded the same day. CSC received our response on June 16. We are on 56 days since RFE response and no updates yet.

I decided to create this thread so people who have the same situation as me can gather and talk, as I understand there's a small number of us!

I'm trying to stay positive and knowing I'm not alone in this situation has helped me stay positive. I hope we all get our NOA2s soon :)

We filled back in Feb.   However, when we filled it didn't say to fill out that form or we would have.

I got the same exact reason for RFE and we also filed in Feb.

got an RFE June 2, responded June 16 and still waiting for updates on our petition. Haven't heard back.

I can't even get a tier 2 to send a inquiry for me. They keep telling me I have to wait. What did you tell them so they would do that ?

If whoever answered me doesn't accept my request to speak to tier 2, I call back again and i always get someone different. Usually other operators are nicer and will accept your request to speak to tier 2, just ask nicely! There was a time I said I already was in line to speak to tier 2 the day before but never got a call back when they said they would, and the operator put me through to tier 2! Give it a try again :)
