We just had our interview, and the IO shared with us that he is recommending our I-130 & I-485 petitions for approval. 😄

On the drive home, I received three e-mail updates from USCIS. Card is already in production.

The interview went smoothly. No trick questions or super complicated things. My husband forgot the street number of our previous address but it was an honest slip of the mind, and the agent could see that we were genuine people with a bona fide marriage.

I am cognizant and grateful that we were incredibly lucky to receive an appointment before the expected furloughs.

    Good luck everyone!

    Congratulations!

My NOA date was 1/6/2020 but I haven’t received any updates after the fingerprints update on 2/3/2020 and my EAD, AP is still pending. I tried to file out of date cace but it says up to 8 months wait time is normal. Is there anyone else that applied on December or early January with pending EAD, AP? And is there a way to get the updated status of the case?

Same. Filed Jan 20. Fingerprints Feb 21. No update since Mar 5.

  3. Hi!  Not sure if this is the right place, I had biometrics on feb 21, my AOS status shows ready to be scheduled for interview, however with the closures my Lawfully case tracker is estimating that approval could take until 01/2021 😥

My question is, my I-94 expired yesterday (we got married 01/16/20), is this the same as when the noa2 for the I-129f expires before the interview and they will back date the extension whenever I get in front of an officer?

Hope it's going well for you! We have been so stressed about it, especially since we are leaving for Florida on Saturday and just learned about the requirement Tuesday. Plan is to send it out tomorrow, too. It honestly felt better to get it done quicker than over a few weeks despite the stress hahah.

Honestly guys it was not that bad! It’s very familiar if you did your I-129 f yourself. I started mine on the 18th and had it in the mail by the 21st. The giant payment was the most painful part. Good luck!!!

What was the issue for SSN??

I am facing some trouble for SSN.. they told their is some mismatch and need to send doc to B&S to verify..

They told me the EXACT same thing. I left copies of my documents with them and when I called to follow up a week later they said it had gone through fine and I would have my number by end of week.

What was the $6 for? Never fingerprinted nor given the I-94.

Ours were easy too. Crossed the border from Pearson and took less than 2hrs before we got passed immigration (it was a Saturday, Jan 25). Submitted the sealed envelopes, waited to be called, asked a few questions such as address, wedding plans, and confirmation of luggages, and off we went.

Went to SSA last Jan28 but only given a letter saying that my SSN is going to be processed and verified by DHS. Might take up to 4 weeks. Is that normal?

    Compiling my AOS now.

The $6 is for the card that the I-94 is printed on.

I crossed at the Sault Ste Marie International Bridge. Everyone was so nice and friendly to us. It was a really pleasant experience. No hassle with the contents of my uhaul and no duty on importing my car (thanks NAFTA!). We were in and out in 40 minutes. They gave us so much advice about the AOS package as well. 10/10 experience.

Mailed AOS on Jan 21, biometrics appointment is Friday Feb 21.

SSN was a bit confusing but once they figured it out I had my card within a week.

I could be wrong, but I seemed to remember having the ability to choose this option when I booked my interview. Granted, that was a couple of months ago and my exact memory is foggy.

Have you seen this  page? It's part of https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv where you can view your appointment and passport delivery requests.

It is when you book the interview. It’s a bit confusing because you will get stuck on a page to choose a Canada Post location before you can proceed, just pick anything closest to you. Once you book the interview it will bring you to the courier option and you can enter your home address.

My fiancé did get the police certificate from RCMP before leaving for India but it was the one they do background check per name and date of birth. And now I keep reading that applicants are getting one done with fingerprints.

Q1. @wingman23 – when you say go to fingerprint company is that different than going to the RCMP location?

Q2. If anyone has done fingerprint or police certificate in Vancouver area please suggest location.

    • My fiancé will land in Vancouver on Dec 4 and this is the first thing he will be doing before going home. This allows him exactly 8-10 business day to receive it through mail, if postal is open on Saturday’s.

Q3. Since the interview is on Dec 18, I suggested to my Fiancé to arrive on Dec 16 in Montreal due to snow to avoid delay of flights etc. Any suggestions for hotels that are walking distance from the new location. I don’t want him to risk rental car due to snow etc...

    Q4. @wingman23 - what is “YATRI”?

Q5. @wingman23 – interview confirmation is that is printed at the time of booking correct, the consulate does not send a new confirmation or additional emails?

Q6. Packet 4 is just an email not as a PDF or anything, which should be fine?

@wingman23 thank you for your help, you been a really good resource.

Sorry guys about silly questions, with limited time, just want to ensure we have everything and I can get everything situated before he returns from India.

Q3. We had an Airbnb within walking distance, but we chose to take an Uber instead. The Montreal Ubers are very convenient and affordable! When we booked the Airbnb there seemed to be a lot of options and it was quite affordable.

    Q6. The email is fine.

  9. Just picked up my visa from purolator! I would have had it yesterday but I was at work when they tried to deliver it.

Also, if it’s helpful to anyone else, I didn’t have any problems crossing the border this weekend. Obviously I didn’t have my passport so I used my enhanced license and that is what I’ll be using going forward until moving day.

Thanks everyone for all the help in getting to this point!

Right?! Now I am debating: do I pic the records up at 7am sharp on Weds to make my 730am appt. (medisys is only about 8 min walk from consulate office) or do I go downtown twice (much dread).

If you happen to see me there come say Hi! My name is Stacey and I’ll have 2 kids in tow.

    wishing you a smooth interview!

I would go downtown twice. When I picked up my medical last week I had to stand around for a few minutes while the staff was with patients that were actually being seen that day.

    1. ds confirmation

    2.  Email with payment and interview date( the one with subject DoS K visa application(action required)

    3. p4 email

i Just cant find appointment letter now.

thanks for your help and goodluck on your interview tomorrow.  Ours is 11/21

Thank you! A bit nervous but looking forward to the next step!

We have an appointment in 2 days and i noticed the email says:

    1. printout the appointment letter for your interview

    2. printout payment confirmation

I am sure where to get a copy of these.  I paid using my credit card online. Any advice?

It’s an email with the subject DoS K Visa Application (action required)

it shows that the fees have been paid and the interview date

  13. Medisys was a dream. So much worry for nothing. Everyone was super kind, especially the blood draw nurse. She said she didn’t have an influenza vaccine available, but that I can get one done at home before POE if I’m concerned about it but she thinks it should be fine.

I was in and out within an hour. There were quite a few people after me that didn’t have their packet 4 with them but they were very accommodating about making arrangements to email it to them.

@klgck The shopping is great! We found a nice spot for lunch before walking back to our Airbnb. Thinking about taking an Uber to the casino tonight and hoping to go see old Montreal in the next couple days.
