Most likely, they will ask questions related to your relationship with your spouse:

How long have you known each other? How did you meet? How long were you together before you decided to get married? What kind of marriage ceremony did you have? Were you ever married before? Do you have any children?

They may also ask questions about what you will do if you are given a visa:

Where do you plan to live in the US? What do you plan to do in the US? Why do you want to go to the US?

Be prepared for any kind of questions about your relationship with your spouse, your spouse's background, or even your own background. Basically anything on any on any of the forms submitted to the NVC is fair game to be asked.

you should have gotten a checklist with documents needed at interview
if they ask for one, they need original

if any documents have been lost by them,  they can ask you to bring a new original (original is one with seal of government seat)
i have had several originals (submiited to immigration and other places needed for licenses / Morocco kept one when i married there)
and they can ask for anything at any point in this visa journey

Are you the foreigner of the US  citizen.  If the foreigner, do a Consular Report of Birth abroad, if your child is entitled to US Citizenship.

Only US credit cards are accepted by NVC, no overseas cards. Can your petitioner not pay?

Correct, you should say no if you've not yet legally come into the US.

You cannot interview for a visa in the US. There are no US embassies within the US. There are circumstances that permit adjusting your status while you are already in the US, though (which is effectively the same as getting a visa abroad and then entering with that visa).

What are you trying to do? If the goal is to come to the US on a B1/B2 and then adjust status to a green card, then that is clear immigration fraud. You are permitted to use a B1/B2 to enter the US, then apply for an immigrant visa while in the US, but you still have to leave the US and interview abroad (along with the medical and such) to get the immigrant visa. You cannot come to the US on a tourist visa with the intent to stay in the US.

there are also jobs that require you to be a us person. this means either usc or lpr. having the ead does not qualify you for them though.

Keep in mind the goal. The CO needs to be convinced (via evidence, not just words) that you're not just going to go to the US and get a green card while she remains abroad.

If your plan is to AOS from within the US, then that would be visa fraud...you don't want to go that route.

    Your options are:
She establishes sufficient intent to (re-)establish US domicile. She moves first and establishes domicile.

You often ask "She has lived outside the US why and how does she have to do this" It's because it's whats demanded no matter your case.

Her bank account helps but is not enough.
Her brother could put her name on the lease that a-lot of help too. Her brothers letter stating she is welcome is not much of a factor IMO. She needs to be on the lease.
Any ID/Voting card she can get from her state is important too.
Any jobs and ties in the US help as well.

They won't allow someone who has no domicile in the US to get someone residency. It does make sense.

You might not have a choice, she might have to move back and get some documents and what not to prove domicile.

Having a B1/B2 visa will have zero impact on your IR1 application or visa. When you get to the NVC stage, you will fill out an application called the DS-260. This form will ask if you have ever applied for a US visa. You will need to disclose all visas you have ever applied for and what the outcomes was (successful or not).

Your B1/B2 visa will be cancelled when and if your IR1 visa is issued.

DCF is Direct Consular Filing; please fill in your profile, including the country you are in, and we can help you better.

One option is, instead of proving domicile, proving intent to re-establish domicile.  For example, enroll any kids you have in IS schools, have your wife sign up to job agencies in the USA and start looking for jobs.  Maybe visit the USA for a few weeks, get a drivers license, register to vote if she is not currently, look for a home to rent/ buy etc.

She needs to get some kind of US address, show that she filled taxes, find a job in the US, etc. There, what's how you get your proof.

Agreed! Is she living in the US? If so you need her address. If she isn't then she needs to before you file.

It just means the permanent address for the petitioner. Where they live. Do they have a lease, a mortgage, live with family etc.

No joint sponsor does not do anything with this.
It's all on the petitioner to prove he domiciles in the USA.

Proof you live there and are active there basically.
