As long as you are still married you can file for naturalization at 3 year mark with an open I-751 case.

    Each state is different.

Canadian driver license are usually able to trade in for us equivelant with only an eye test.

Check your states dmv requirements regarding identity and residency.

I just got got my pa driver license today and had a valid G level Ontario license. I only needed to complete an eye exam to get my PA lic.

Yes, you will need to bring it with you. The IO will more then likely want to see your passport.

Hey, it was pretty easy for me.
    What they needed from me:
    1) SSN Card
    2) Passport (or you can use birth certificate)
    3) EAD Card
    4) I-797 NOA for my I-485 (I brought all of my NOA's).
    5) 2 pieces of mail to establish residency. (I only really needed one, because of my I-797 had my address on them).
    6) I also showed them my Canadian driver license.

I went into the DMV and said I was a new resident and wanted to transfer my license. I filled out a form. Took the eye exam.

The hard part was waiting 70 minutes to finally get called up.... I had my new driver license within 20 minutes of handing over all the documents. They also never punched my Canadian driver license/ made me hand it over. So I guess I have two... I'll just keep the Ontario license as a souvenir now though.

    Hi,

I never did my medicals yet. I have been waiting to do them. You do not need to send the I-693 with your I-485 to file it. You will need to bring it with you to the interview though. Or mail it in if they request it.

    Hi,

You will need to include the $85.00 biometric fee with the I-485.

    Hi,

yes you you can file you I-485 concurrently with the I-130. Your best bet would be to gather the evidence required for the  I-485 and attach the I-797 noa from your I-130

you can also apply for the ead/AP as well. I believe the fee will be waived because you are doing a concurrent filing. However, I would search the forums for this scenario for a definite answer.

    Hope this helps!

mr-mrs-hdc got a reaction from Meanis in How much chance do I have?
In all honesty the reason that it may impact the process is because you are allowing an IO to interpret your entry / exit history while on AP. It is still a 'privilege' to be paroled back into the US. It is not the beneficiaries 'right' to be allowed back in. So if you have overstayed your visa this could impact the IO's decision while you are trying to enter back into the United states.

That is why I would advise anyone who has an AP and has overstayed their visa to remain inside of the United States until they have their green card.

Once you have the green card your past visa over stay issues should be dissolved since you are now a permanent resident of the US.

    Hi,

It is a standard letter. It is just informing you that you did not include the I-693, and that they will give you further instructions if they need you to mail it.

    Hi,

you should report it on your work history. They will not penalize you for it, because you are married to a USC.

So at this present moment (sept 18/2017) they are probably at the end of May / beginning of June.

You are required to get an exam done. The civil surgeon will complete and seal the form for you.

You should receive a letter in the mail that is yellow telling you what you should do.

My letter said that if you are scheduled for an interview that you must bring it to the interview with you.

If you do not get an interview, they will send you an RFE to submit the required form.

It also tells you not to send it in unless instructed to do so.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey,

since your wife came in on K-1 Visa. you only need to write the one check for the AOS FEE + BIOMETRICS FEE.
You can put it in one check.

Also, aslong as you have a case number by that date she is not incurring any illegal presence. However, even if in the odd chance she does, it would be forgiven because she is married to a USC.

Basically, try not to stress out too much

    Hey,

I sent the wrong amount the first time too. You have to wait for them to send the package back. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks. (Mine came back 16 days after I sent it).

When you get it back there will be notices on why it was rejected, and there is a green letter you need to include when sending it back. Make sure you include that on the top of the package.

Also, they will have organized your package how they wanted it. I honestly, didn't even look at it. I just re-wrote the check with the right amount and sent it back... And they accepted it. In hindsight I should have probably just made a once over to make sure there was nothing missing.

You should be able to submit it again before your wifes k-1 expires. Good luck!

My wife filed her n-400 in september (end of september). She just had her interview. And it went really well. They couldnt give an immediate decision, because of her history. However, the officer told her congratulations anyways. Just wanted to say lurked the entire time and it was nice to see all your stories. I will post an update when we get an official approval!.
