How long do you have to wait for your biometrics after the fingerprint fee was received? Mine was received June 30.. still waiting.. thanks for your response

I'm filing after marriage in the USA from another visa. My process has been going fast so far I hope it keeps going that way.

Here is my timeline.. hope we can share and follow each other
June 22...AOS sent 
June 27....NOA1 for both AOS and EAD(from MSC)
June 30... Fingerprint fee received
It has been 19days now.. still waiting for letter for biometrics appointment... anyone out there with the same experience??

I've got my NOAs in mail on 7/10 but still waiting on biometrics appointment letter. My case was sent to NBC. 

The AOS gets processed at MSC first (in Missouri) and will either get transferred to your local office (in which case you will most likely get an interview) or to the CA office if you don't need an interview. You won't know until much later in the process though. In either case you will get called in to the local office to get your biometrics done.

I filled EAD with AOS June 5th 2017.  Received June 8th, mail receipt received June 15th. Fingerprints done July 5th today. Good luck everyone :-D

i94 can be expired in some states but needs to be unexpired in others.

I filed EAD together with AOS.. in June 2017. Hope to get soon. They say it takes about 90days or less.. good luck to us

I don't think they check your visa. As long as your I-94 is valid and you have proof that you're currently applying for AOS you'll be fine. When you receive the ID, just know it's only valid for 1 year because that's how long they anticipate the green card to take for approval. If you get the green card before the ID expiration date then head back down and show them proof of green card and residency so they can update the ID. It might be worth looking into a drivers license too. Works the same way!

According to there website they do.
Problem is that it requires the person to actually look up the correct entries for the SAVE system.
 
When I got mine I got the same response. only after I asked them to look it up, since it was on there own documents as being an option, did the lady ####### the book and started looking. Sure enough the "Well, what do you know. You're right" was said after about 30 seconds.
 

My wife was able to by showing her I-94, along with the other required documents (passport, proof of residence). However, it expires on the I-94 expiration date. They said once it's expired, she can renew it once she gets the EAD. This is in Illinois, though. 

Most states won't accept it. Their claims is "that is not an immigration status yet"

tried in NC but no avail. Best to wait for EAD/GC..

I was able to get my Michigan state ID after applying for AOS. I just had to take my NOA1 to show I'd applied and my ID was valid for 1 year. If you go to SOS they will give you a checklist of what you need to get an ID card 

Yep, there are a lot of employee's out there that are not aware. The whole problem is the SAVE system. It requires a specific code for the NOA and very few people know that one. As far as I am aware, the whole thing is a Federal requirement/system. Once you're cleared in that system you're set.
 
This does not only effect foreigners. A friend of mine let her license expire 2 days (she's a citizen by birth) and now has to find her birth certificate to proof to DMV she is legal.
 

You're right, It is a federal system, but some states have imposed extra requirements on top of the lawful presence that you can't meet without an EAD and or GC - unfortunately.

Yes...  with an Ead card you can get a drivers liscence or State ID 

Different Service Center handles different cases, your EAD is standard, it is handled by NBC, so expect a reply around 90 days, if after 75 days, you can call for SR on it. The AOS is the slow one, but then that depends on a lot of factors. The most important thing you have to wait and keep the faith.

In Ohio the NOA1 for the AOS is sufficient for state ID
