The Congress representative finally emails me back today to tell me the say I submitted my release that a new form has been released and I would need to complete before they will release information to them.  I received the new form and the added that the beneficiary needs to sign the release now too.  That's going to take forever especially because power is still out in the country after the cyclone.  Why would they need permission from the beneficiary now?

Might just be my cynicism talking, but maybe to slow down or cut down on the amount of inquiries USCIS gets from Congressmen.

Ok.. We sent the AOS packet last Wednesday. That was 21st February 2018. Based on USPS tracking, it was delivered on the 24th. So far, we have not heard anything from USCIS. Not even an E-Notifcation of Application/Petition Acceptance (G-1145). What's the usual timeframe for this?

Also, when I sent the AOS packet, I have not received my Social Security Card. I received that yesterday. Should I update USCIS with the info? If so, how could I do that?

Not sure if AOS is the same, but I got my text/e-mail for my I-129F delivered on the 23rd and picked up on the 24th on Wed., so 3 business days after someone signed for it. 3-4 days seems to be the norm right now for e-notification.

Hi everybody, i sent my i-129f petition in friday,23 and Via usps mail and according to the tracking number they gave me , my packet got to the USCIS DALLAS TX In tuesday 27 but not yet NOA1. <_<

It usually takes 3-5 days after they receive your package for the electronic notification to go out if you included a G-1145 form, and then another week or so to receive the official NOA1.

BTW, anyone know if the USCIS tracking is working and showing approvals now? Most of last year it wasn't showing anything except RFEs sent and people were predicting their NOA2 receipts based on clusters of RFEs around their receipt number. :D

Hi everyone, They received our application on 2/21 Just for to NOA1 today in the mail 3/1. Does anyone know how they decide where your application goes or do they all go to Cali. From the graphs it looks like Vermont has the quickest turnaround time but it does not say on the letter where our application went from the Texas lockbox.

Almost all I-129F go to the California Service Center unless they require extra screening for some reason. If your receipt # begins with WAC, yours is being processed in California.

  5. So how is everyone's significant other handling the process so far? My fiancee is pretty chill about the whole thing. We sat down and knocked out the form in a couple hours in her kitchen between sips of coffee and kisses. I gave her a general overview of how the whole process goes from NOA1 to POE and shared some links from her country's embassy website about what to do to prepare for the interview. Mostly we just hate the time we are essentially forced to spend apart while our paperwork waits in line. I've already burned all my paid vacation this year. Wish I had 25 days+ like a lot of you folks over the pond. :D

Ewwww you sucked on the salt. lol Apparently our Thin Mints in Canada are more mintier than yours. I have yet to try the American ones to see if it is true. lol My husband bought me some Savannah Smiles because he knows I am crazy about lemon and omg soooo good. I tried the new smores too and they are decent. Eventually I will try them all just because I can. hahaha

I haven't tried the lemon one, but now I have to because I love all things citrus! Sour > Sweet for me! If you want some of the best lemonade, check if a nearby mall has a fast food franchise called Hot Dog On a Stick. It's the absolute perfect balance of sweet and sour.

I agree Americans like sweet things that is for sure. lol I was told that that is why Americans have 12 different kinds of girl scout cookies and Canadians only have three is because Americans like their stuff sweeter. Probably true. lol

I only need two: Thin Mints and Samoas :D Funny story though: It was a family tradition to make home made ice cream on the weekends in one of those old fashioned hand crank machines and my parents always kept a big bag of coarse salt in the garage to put over the ice. I thought I was really sneaky going out into the garage to steal a few pieces to suck on when I was a kid.

Oh wow! That was really fast! Second K1 in less than a year! Few! :) You must have a strong and big heart for being ready for that again so quickly!
I hope you will find happiness now and go through the process without scrutiny! Good luck!

Thanks! To be perfectly honest a lot of my last relationship falling apart was my own fault. It had been a while since I was in a fulfilling relationship and brushed off some warning signs that ended up coming to bite me thinking that everything would be okay. I broke a lot of my own personal rules and paid for it. This time around, I had a lot more confidence and my spidey senses turned up to 11. My fiancee and I have had some minor situations which allowed me to see how she acts under anger, stress, and disappointment, and not just under the most ideal circumstances. It really helps you grow closer, know, love and understand someone when you can share some hardships together.

As for filing quirks, if you do file a second petition within two years of having another approved petition, you have to ask for a multiple filer waiver and give an explanation of the circumstances. There's technical details I'm not exactly 100% clear on, like if you had your petition formally withdrawn before a K1 visa is given if it still counts as approved or not since the process was never actually completed and the beneficiary received nothing. My thinking is they just want to keep people from bringing in multiple people on a K1 as some type of scam.

As for us: we sent our AOS package on January 26th and our NOA 1 date is February 6th. Also this weekend got a mail with biometrics date set on March 6th.

So happy! No web-site/application or e-notification update though.

And in the meantime we are preparing for the wedding in fall, late October to be more precise. A lot of stuff to do and not so easy but we keep moving to make our dreams and plans come true. Sometimes I feel sad and miss my Ukraine but I guess it's just a matter of time staying home alone doing nothing in particular and absence of super tough work schedule I had in Kiev for the last 7 years. :)

Glad to hear everything is going along well! I hope all your wedding plans come together to make a very beautiful and memorable day for you and your husband! I still reserve the right to be a whiner though. 😜

OMG! You are fast, boy! :jest:

Congratulations! Hope this is the one you've been looking for! May the process be fast and successfull for you!

    Keep us informed! ;)

Yes, this went a lot faster than I anticipated. Our personalities and senses of humor are just so perfectly compatible. It feels like being with one of my life long friends. I had to watch my words with my ex, but not anymore. 😂 There's a wonderful sense of freedom in it.

As for the process, they cashed my check yesterday and I'm waiting on NOA1 again.

Hey Buddy : )   1st, thanx for the compliment.  2nd.... I'm really happy to see where you are in life!  That's totally good news.

Side note for me, I took a new job and moved to the Keys - but actually I miss the action of Miami lol   Ann got here Oct 27, married on the beach on 11/13, found out she is expecting with due date in Sept....... Yeah, actually considering all this..... the keys may be a lot more action than Miami - come to think of it.  Everyday is an adventure and we are so glad we endured the whole K1 process because it's all behind us and everyday now we are working together.    I'm excited for your future!!!

    Keep in touch

    Jim

Wow! It's sounds like you've had some pretty exciting changes as well! Congratulations to you and Ann as well with the wedding and expecting a baby! That's awesome! Please send my regards!

Doing this whole process again was really not on the top of the list of things I wanted to do, but here we are.  I learned from my last experience and tried to be smarter and more careful this go around, and hope everything continues to go as well as it has been. :D

I just received an email and text that our case has been sent to CSC!! Is this the NOA1? I am so excited for the process but feel so blind to the process.

The official NOA1 will be sent in the mail and you should receive it within about a week. Congrats! Now there's not much to do except wait for a few months and familiarize yourself with the next steps. :D The Philippines in particular have a bit more extensive process after NOA2 to follow.

Hey everybody!! Lewisville TX received my I129f form on Tuesday Feb 20th. Is anybody doing the process by themselves without an attorney? We have been together for 19 months and she lives in The Philippines.......I am so happy to find this site!! Best of luck to everyone!!

This is my second shot at a K1 (long story, but the moral of the story is not to ignore red flags and shrug them off as cultural differences). My first time through, I used a service called Rapid Visa. It was pretty helpful and had a much lower price tag than an attorney. I have a friend that is actually an immigration attorney and he quoted me double what this other service cost with his "friends and family" rate. This time, I just did everything myself and used some of the old material I had left over as an example and reference material. It was a bit easier as they combined two forms that were required before into just the I-129f. From what I understand, an attorney really only shines if there's ever a question of your relationship being legitimate further down the road in the immigration process. Anyone can prepare the documents that is familiar with them.
