I tried to correct the mistake when our petition was at the NVC but the person told me there was nothing they could do on their end but she assured me it would not be a problem. I was told  to make sure we submit the correct info on the ds160 as that's the primary source the embassy utilizes for demographic info for the interview and visa. Additionally, your fiance will have to bring his birth certificate to the interview so they will see that it matches what your fiance submitted on the ds160 and the DOB on your NOA1 and NOA2 as well. Should someone really scrutinize it will be pretty obvious a mistake was made at the NVC due to the fact all of your other documents will have a consistent DOB.

    Perfect thank you so much

We had a similar problem and we were able to fix it later at the embassy stage. Just make sure the information you submit on the DS160 is accurate and should it come up during the interview simply tell the truth and explain the mix up...mistakes happen.

Did you just send the embassy an email of the passport or birth certificate?

My fiancee went for his visa on January 4 2017 and was denied due to 221g, and was told that the petition would be sent back to the us, later we received an update that the petition is still with the embassy and the status changed to administrative processing.  Has anyone had similar experiences?  is it even possible to get a visa after 221g denial?

Did they tell him why he was denied ? what questions did they ask him? and what evidence did you guys submit?

  4. When i went to visit my fiance in Ghana the past few times i always just went to GOOGLE.COM and typed in OMA to ACC. It gives you a list of all of the flights from all airlines times and prices and you can even compare dates and prices. I was looking up prices from ACC to OMA a few days ago and i noticed a one way is cheaper depending on when He or she is coming the highest i seen the price was 800-1005. Goodluck :)

Hey, you should ideally have lots of supporting evidence to prove that you're capable of financially supporting the beneficiary.

All of these things -- tax returns, bank statements, w2 forms, employment letters -- are all essential (although technically not required). The requirement is to "prove" to the Consulate that you're financially sound enough to support the beneficiary. These documents definitely help.

So, you should weigh your own case. Do you feel you're at the borderline of the I-864p criteria? or are you comfortably over?

Depending on your answer, I would say you can adjust the quantity of documents you need to bring.

Comfortable way over! Thank you so much for your repsonse

  6. I know that a lot of people are still waiting on a NOA2 or waiting for an interview. I just want to say to those still waiting to keep praying and continue to be patient God is so good and he does answer prayers. I honestly think that every one in this group is seriously amazing and special in many different ways. I have gotten so many questions answered and not one person was rude even though some people ask the same questions everyday. I honestly feel that everyone in this group will soon be with their loved one and will be able to spend forever together! praying for everyone! I encourage each and every one of  you to stay strong. This is only the beginning :)

My fiance received packet 3, it was basically instructions nothing case specific. I've listed how we proceeded below:

    1. Completed the DS160

    2. Remitted the visa fee at GT Bank

    3. Scheduled his interview on the Travel Docs website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ (you can schedule interview 1-2 hours after visa fee has been paid)

    4. Went for medical @ Holy Trinity  (results were ready in a week)

    5. Did police clearance @ CID Police Headqaurters in OSU  (results were ready in 2 weeks)

    Hope this helps!

Yes! that helps so much thank you!

Also were do you go and get your police report in Accra ? Thank you for your answers i am just trying to figure this all out
