I guess, even you get your EAD, there is still a chance to get rejected in the GC interview. It is still better to get the GC and don’t have to worry for two years!

Do you mind I ask what work field you are in ? I am in Florida too.

IT project management. i understand that. i just came across this:

USCIS is now going to try to deport naturalized citizens who may have lied on their application.

They are also going to start denying immigration applications instead of sending and RFE if there's missing information.

"The Trump administration is stepping up efforts to curb legal immigration, taking a series of actions in recent weeks that could lead to deportation for people already granted citizenship.

The director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) — an office established in 2003 to process immigrant applications for visas, work permits, green cards and citizenship — told The Associated Press recently that the agency is hiring dozens of lawyers and immigration officers to review cases of immigrants who are suspected of having lied to officials during the naturalization process.

    ...

The agency said last week that starting Sept. 11 its adjudicators will have the ability to outright deny applications that are missing information. That’s a departure from an Obama-era policy of sending requests for more evidence or issuing a warning of their intent to deny the application."

I know. But people usually get married after 90 days. And I did see people get their GC anyway.

its a risk that they are taking by doing that. a lawyer recommended this option to me giving me assurance it will work but i rather do it the way I'm sure there is no risk to be with my wife than there possibly being one just to save a couple 100$

so i finally got approved for EAD. i did do an expedite which was approved on May 4th. so approximately a month from expedite.

My priority date was Jan 11th.

didn't get an email or text message notice. logged in on Saturday and saw it was approved on Thursday 07/06.

got an email this morning saying we are still working on your case and their is no update at this time. logged in again today and say an update as of June 9th that my card was mailed out.

checked the mail this afternoon and my notice of approval was there.

update: received the card today, we are so happy!! time to get a job! already have hunters ready to place me! so shouldnt be difficult for my field! good luck to all.

  5. Good morning guys!! Hope all is well!... congrats for all those who received their paperwork!

So i received an RFE from USCIS related to the I-485, this is better than no news to me, means they are looking at my case.

    Now, my questions are these:

    1) anyone who has received an RFE can you tell me what they have been on (so i can attempt to gather the info before i get the notice)?

    2) is it possible to still get the i-765 while waiting for this RFE process?

  6. hey guys, hope all is well. sent my application after getting an ref for filing on outdated application (i485), they sent back the i-765 (EAD) alone for incorrect filing fee. However, this is inaccurate because i filed all documents together. So i sent the package back with a copy of my i-797 notice as proof that it was all filed together and 1225$ was paid at that time.

My question is does this restart the timeframe?

    thanks in advance

I removed the notices and kept the old form. I sent everything back as is. I put the green letter on top as instructed and send everything back

ok thank you. did you receive NOA yet?

Also, on page 4 part 3- receipt number did you use the receipt number on the RFE notice you received? and page 4 part 4- what priority date are they referring to?

    5) derivative/principal applicant- this would not apply as i am k1 right so this will N/A as well?

i apologize for all my questions and queries... lol this form is overly detailed than the previous

I've heard people said they got a response in 3 weeks . Think NOA replies can be from 1-4wks .

    Hopefully You Hear Something Soon!

so i got a denial because i submitted on outdated forms (i485). however this form states it expires 12/31/2018 on the top right hand corner. is there a more recent form?

Also they sent back all my other forms as well. so my entire process is on hold.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Here in Ohio I only needed my passport, I94, social security number, AOS NOA and proof of residential. Also if you have your name changed then take your marriage certificate with you. Even though every state is different some similar, you need to check Florida DMV website.. just in case I missed something.

Thank you very much... was the process long or simple? And how much did it cost?
