  1. The CSC processing times list was updated today. The are listing November 15, 2016 as the processing date for K1 visa. Anyone still waiting on NOA2 with a receive date on or before Nov 15 might be able to get an answer if they make an inquiry. Hope they will finish up all of the November cases soon!

it really has been testing our patience, the even more concerning thing is that the US Embassy in Cairo is one of the ones that take a while to get an interview scheduled or have any correspondence with them in general after your case reaches the embassy, so I am already seeing that it will be a long road ahead :(

I hope we both receive our NOA2 approvals this week. I wouldn't even mind an RFE so much at this point. How long is the average wait time for an interview in Cairo? I know in Morocco, it's about 1-2 months after the consulate receives the case. I also have fear of a long period of AP after the interview in the back of my mind, just because of the region we are dealing with. Even though I feel that my case is fairly strong, you just never know what could happen. I guess all we can do for now is to keep waiting...

    So I won't be getting any text/email? That's just great..... :(

Do you suggest I create an account with the USCIS so I can just track it myself?

I sent my petition through USPS to Dallas with the G-1145 and I did receive text and email notification...

You can't really track your case until you receive your case number, which will be listed in the text/email as well as the paper NOA1 copy.

Hang in there, you will receive your NOA1 soon. It's taking between 1-2 weeks for NOA1 notifications these days. The fact that they already cashed the check is a good sign.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't K1 visa an immigrant visa too? :)
    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/all-visa-categories.html

It makes sense that it would be, but it is apparently a special kind of visa that is considered non-immigrant, but with immigrant intent.

This page from the same site you cited classifies it as nonimmigrant: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html

    Definitely a bit confusing!

  5. Usually Administrative Processing takes place after the interview, but considering that you are going through the embassy in Afghanistan, what I imagine is a higher fraud risk country, I wonder if interviews are temporarily on hold or something. I think that is very unlikely though.

Is there any way that you or your fiancé can contact the embassy and ask for an interview date? Lawyers can be helpful, but sometimes they do make mistakes or even prolong the process.

If you look at your timeline page, it will give you an "estimate".  You haven't entered your NOA1 date yet into your timeline.  You should do that.

Current wait between NOA1 and NOA2 is 93 days.  But that number may go higher soon as later in January much more petitions got filed.  But if all stays on the current course, for your petition, preliminarily, I'd guess around 25th of April.

I hope so.  I've been checking like 20 times a day.  I'm thinking I'll get mine on Monday.

NOA2 updates are almost always released around 9-11PM EST, so don't stress yourself out too much checking during the day. ;)

So now again another person  (you)  are saying it the other way??? Received date 12/27  is for the Excel files?  But the real Notice date is Jan 6th, as far as the California office...  now were back to where we were earlier...

They sure don't make this easy!  So which one is everyone using?

I always thought the date we use for the VJ timeline was the notice date listed on the NOA1.

wow. I just realized I didnt include the G-1145 form...

Is it too late for me to send the G-1145 form to request for notifications? or is the form exclusive for applications being sent together

It can only be sent with the I-129F, but once you get your case number on your paper NOA1 you can track your case number online, so really the text/email notification is only useful for NOA1 confirmation. Some people don't even get notification for NOA2, despite submitting the G-1145, so you will be alright.

    Hi all,

Popping over from the January filers thread. I have a question for those already approved. Is it normal for the case status to show as "approved" on the USCIS website, without receiving email/text notification?

I'm a little hesitant to believe the approval notice on the website, because it still showed as "received" at 7pm last night, and then showed as "approved" just after midnight, pacific time. Still shows as approved right now. Just makes me wonder, as they stated they were doing system maintenance on the website from 9pm to midnight eastern last night. Just a little paranoid this might be a website bug or data entry error. So, is it normal to show approved on the website and not receive other notifications (even though I signed up for them)?

Thanks, and really hope those of you still waiting are approved ASAP. My received date is Jan. 4, so don't be too mad at me...

Yes, it is not unheard of that you do not receive text/email notifications for NOA2, even if you did receive them for NOA1. You can check again tonight to be sure, but I think the website should be accurate. Congrats! :)

  10. Congratulations on your petition approval. :D

The next step is to fill out the DS-160 form if you have not yet done so already. It can be found here: https://ceac.state.gov/GENNIV/

After filling out the DS-160, your fiancee should receive an email from the Casablanca consulate with instructions on when the interview will be scheduled and what to bring. This is known as Packet 3.

The consulate website is a good reference for what you will need to bring to the interview. You can see a list of items here: https://ma.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

So is that the received date, or notice date when I look at my I 797 c Notice of action? aka= NOA -1  receipt on the case type I129f  petition for Alien Fiance...

I'm confused again.... looking at other threads, and comments?

    Received date  Dec 27th  2016

    Notice date Jan 06 2017

    Help for which to use>??

When comparing your date to the scan dates, you would use received date, December 27th. The VJ timelines go by NOA1 notice date, however. :)

Yep, 90-94 days it seems. I'm just afraid of letting my hopes rise too high because then you see people here from November and December still waiting so... Who knows?

I'll keep you updated, don't worry, and I'm going to cross some fingers for you now :P

I think the 90 day average is reasonable for April filers. :)

There were an exceptionally large number of filers in November and December, so these months are a bit backed up, coupled with the fact that the CSC had a huge slowdown around Christmas/New Year's time, this is why many of us are still waiting. I think after they have cleared the December and early January cases, NOA2 response time will begin to speed up a bit. At least I hope so!

  13. Here are the instructions listed on the website of the Casablanca consulate: https://ma.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

It looks like the fee can be paid once you arrive at the consulate. $265 paid in cash in either U.S. Dollars or the equivalent in Moroccan Dirhams (take a few extra dirhams if you are planning to pay this way, to account for fluctuating exchange rate).

Good luck on your interview! :D
