Hubby cakes walked in and did his biometrics a whole 10 days earlier than his scheduled appointment and it was easy peeseeeeee lol

Hey guys, fyi my case status was updated to “Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” yesterday Feb 8th. 
I had biometric taken on Jan 31st. So i guess my I485 is being forwarded to my local field. Am I right?

Did biometrics drop-in in Seattle on Monday morning. My appointment was scheduled for Feb 13, so I got in more than a week ahead of time. They were really nice, and I didn't have to wait at all. I just went in with all the people who had appointments. 

The wait took a whole of ten minutes or less, I checked in at 1245 and I’m already heading to the parking lot. 

1. Passport is enough. The visa inside it could potentionally also work as some kind of identification I suppose. But only passport is needed (along with the other documents such as birth certificate, i-94 etc).
 
2. Legal alien allowed to work, correct.
 
3. Don't wait. It's not always just a name change issue, but some uninformed SSA workers won't even issue people a SSN after they get married no matter how much time there is left on their i-94. It's as if they believe the requirements of the visa have somehow changed because you got married and that you're no longer eligible for a SSN. Weird, I know. Better get it now, in her maiden name, that way she will at least have a SSN when the tax season starts etc. Doesn't matter that it's in her maiden name. She can change it when she gets her EAD, or greencard, or whenever, doesn't matter much.

Phew. I sent my AOS package just now through USPS priority mail. Its expected to delivered on Friday. I’m still nervous eventhough its 2nd time filing to USCIS.

yes. it was worth the $2000 (airfare, hotel, other expenses) , i spent to fly out to Vietnam.     I felt my presence helped my fiancee. I think one thing not mentioned many times is that  It is very chaotic in the initial steps before waiting to be called up for the interview.  people in line mingled with  non k-1 visa applicants and they have different document requirements. people in line befriended each other and were sharing or asking the person next to them about the visa process who were not there for the same purpose.  for example, a misinformed person told my fiancee she needed 2 photos when you only needed one for fingerprint scanning.  i told her she needed only one but it placed doubt in her mind.   i reminded her we prepared  all the documents beforehand so don't divert from it.  
 
my fiancee was given many instructions while standing in line and trying to follow them was difficult.  for example, an EMS form was given and told to fill it out. i was holding her purse and document folder while she scrambled to find her passport information and case number to complete the form.  she used the documents folder to write on.  it can be a challenge trying to write while standing with your purse and thick document folder.    what annoyed her was that person next to her keep asking her for help.  my fiancee being a nice person tried to help her but it really frustrated her.  
 
so basically i was holding and guarding her stuff, putting documents in order for the next step while she stood in line for fingerprinting  and helped guiding her. Because i knew the process  learned from this site, i was a big help.  
i saw many people alone and or a mother with a baby trying to do this alone was saddening.  
 
i saw people confused and very nervous and scrambling for documents by  ripping open envelopes trying to get to the papers they needed.  
 
during the interview, CO, only asked 4 questions.  they did not seemed to grill her on the proof of  relationship because i was sitting down staring directly at them.  interview was less than 5 minutes and was told "Welcome to the to America" 
 
in a nutshell, i was her guide, aide, coach, 
and  moral support. To see her nervously go through the process and be there for her,   it was not waste of a trip at all.   when she could not believe that she passed, It brought tears to my to my eyes.  
i would recommend being there if you can.

My now husband and I got married last Friday. Today I went to get my official copy of marriage certificate. Hopefully by the end of this week (at the latest) I can send all the paperwork for the AOS!

You mentioned you felt being there helped pass the visa interview.  Do you think her fluency in English language help her as well?
If the Vietnamese fiancee is not fluent in English, would that look negatively on her?
 

I am happy to share we had our interview this morning. She got drilled a little because i had previous petition and withdraw.but after the officer talked to me and I told him that i realized it looked bad that i filed another k1 shortly after withdrawing my previous one.

HI everyone. Well the day is finally here. My Fiancée Malen is leaving Singapore in 6 hours to fly to me here in Hawaii. We are going to spend a few days being tourists on Oahu then home to Kauai to get started on the wedding plans. it is very hard to solidify plans when half of the wedding party hasn't arrived yet.
