forena99 got a reaction from Pasa in I-751 September 2020 Filers
    Hi everyone!
Sorry to not have been giving updates! But we got our permanent residency March 6th (two saturdays ago)!  We are so happy!  No interviews, no biometrics. 147 days total.  We had the WAC center in Laguna Niguel.

    Here's our ROC timeline:

    I-751 Package on September 24, 2020
    Notice Date October 06, 2020
No Waived Biometrics notice (I honestly don't remember receiving one)
Extension Letter (same as Notice Date letter?) October 06, 2020
Moved to Local USCIS Jan 13, 2021
Letter of Approval March 02, 2021
Received Card in the Mail March 06, 2021

Seems like ours went relatively fast compared to those on the spreadsheet.  I updated the spreadsheet! I hope everyone gets theirs soon!  We've been pretty busy, I haven't been able to check in on the site since last October!  But we are also having our first baby this summer!  So we've been preparing for that as well.  Such a relief to have this behind us.

    Goodluck to everyone!

According to the spreadsheet, only a few people have obtained (and got wavied) the biometrics. And all of them are from EAC, so it is really hard to see. I have seen people who have waited for month for this letter

Yes, I submitted my renewal for EAD last month.

    Good luck with your interview.

    Hi Everyone!
    (Updates)

Had our interview 2 days ago (25th Sept) at Philadelphia field office! (Sept 12 2017 notice receipt)

The Immigration officer who interviewed us was a nice person. Asked the yes & no questions, date of birth, full name, country i was born. Where am I currently working, proof of address with our current address.  Asked if there were any instances that we lived apart.

Didn't ask for new i864 nor taxes. He only asked for proof of address, (gave him our electric bill, internet bill, joint bank statement, my paystubs) and recent pics. But better be ready just incase they ask for it.

At the end of the interview he said everything seems good and our relationship seems simple. he will review our case and let us know if he needs more documents. An hour after we left I received a notification from USCIS that my case was updated. Checked it and is says, "card being produced"

    Thank you Lord!

    Goodluck to everyone!

    Sincerely,
    Val

As promised this is the checklist I created of documents to bring to the interview, 98% of which they never asked for at the interview.  One thing you can likely count on:  If you don't bring something, they will probably ask for it.

I created it based on the the instructions in the interview notice.  If you use this checklist, I would also suggest that you first compare it with your own interview notice and make any necessary additions.  The file in the zipped file is in RTF format -- open with either Wordpad or Word.

My husband and I attended our interview in Chicago yesterday and his green card is now in production! The interview was quick and simple. We were not approved 'on the spot', but I did get the case update via text a few hours after the interview. It was cool seeing our file on the officer's desk that had all of our immigration documents in it. I don't remember sending such a huge K1 packet, but I guess I did!

I also noticed that the top of our file folder had a yellow piece of paper stapled to it that said "Interview Waived" on it...I wonder if our interview would have been waived had the rules not changed? Well, that is all just speculation now. I'm looking forward to a nice 2 year break from USCIS.

    Hello!

So my status online never updated from "We're scheduling your interview", yet I received the notice for interview in the mail early July. Status remained the same.. scheduling interview. Never changed. Even in the new website.

So I went to the interview with my husband last Aug. 1. My interview was 10:30am, we arrived at 10am. They called us right away even before the scheduled time.

The officer asked us for originals to inspect: birth certificates, passport, IDs, marriage certificate. Did not ask for original DS-3025 at the interview though I have it with me, I only sent a copy of that in the AOS packet. I didn't do the civil surgeon at all. My medical was done at my home country for K1, May 2017. I didn't do another medical, I risked it. It was not expired anyway when I submitted the AOS application last year Sept. The officer didn't talk about the medical at all during the interview.

She asked for wedding photographs. I submitted a total of 5 pictures: 2 wedding, 1 with my fam overseas, 1 with his fam in a different state and 1 of us in vacation somewhere. She asked for proof of us being together. I gave her copy of lease, insurance, 2 joint bank statements, 1 credit card, 1 phone bill. She went through it all, but said she has enough and returned the credit card and phone bill.

We brought with us an updated affidavit of support form, the latest version of the form, to show most recent tax returns of 2017, then 2016 & 2015, W2s, paystubs and letter of employment because my husband changed jobs end of last year and 2017 tax return has my name in there; so she thanked us for doing that and took all of it. She asked my husband the questions in the affidavit of support form. Then she asked me questions from the AOS form like, from my name down to "Have you ever been jailed..." kinda questions. Also asked my job in the Philippines, history of travel, how we met, and my new job here. Told me she's approving my application and the card will be mailed in 2-4weeks.

The day after my interview, Aug. 2, my status online finally changed to "We have approved your application.." It was only then when it finally showed the actual status.

Goodluck guys. Thanks for all your help here in the forum. :)

Unfortunately, although the new site seemed promising at first, it is now almost as out of date and worthless as the old one.

For our I-485 interviews, it still shows status comments from 14 November 2017 that they are scheduling our interviews.  In fact, the interviews were scheduled over a month ago and took place this morning.

When we got the appointment notices, I created a checklist based on everything mentioned in the appointment notice and collected it all together.  Most of it was unneeded, specifically she (the interviewer) did not care about:
My proof of citizenship & birth certificates Evidence that we were qualified to apply for permanent residence (all I could think of here was NOA1, NOA2, visas in passports, marriage certificate, to show that we had been through the process) Certified copies of their Philippine birth certificates & her 1st husbands death certificates (we had ordered 3 new sets just in case ) Their employment authorization cards Immunization papers from the embassy physical Subsequent immunization records Certified copy of my divorce order Current letter of employment & pay stubs I-94 forms For evidence of joint financial stuff, they received a copies of our wills, our 2017 Form 1040, and got to look at my health insurance card.

Copies of everything else (albeit uncertified copies) had been submitted with the I-485 filings.

She interviewed us separately and pursued several lines of questioning to see if our answers were the same:
How did we meet ("winks" on dating site, eventually I paid to upgrade so we could communicate.  I had also printed a screen snag of her first "wink"). What did we have for dinner last night (I went out to Arby's about 6, she was working 2-10 ) How many cars did we have (3, I had included the VW that need repairs; wife first answered 2) Questions about my house (# of bedrooms, # of baths, laundry room) Questions about when I visited, where we stayed, what we did.  Wife's memory was a bit fuzzy, since we did not go to her house until the 2nd day.  The interviewer got bored after the 4th of my 7 trips there. I had printed about 350-400 pictures from wife's FB page starting from our arrival at JFK on 26 July 2017.  I showed the interviewer the wedding & adoption pics w/ the judges, and she spent about 20 seconds thumbing through the rest.

We left with a form with a box checked that they would notify us in 4 weeks of their decision.

I will post my checklist here later.  One thing to consider is that if you don't bring something, they will surely ask for it.  To prep for the trip-you-up questions (at least the ones that we fielded):
Review how you met, see if you can still find any evidence of it (on the 2nd anniversary of her first "wink", I had posted a screen snag in FB) Review what you did the last 48 hours (where each of you were, what you did, what you ate). Review your car(s), who drives, when, etc. Review your trips to his/her home country, where you stayed, what you did, esp. the first trip.

It's ok to ask questions in other thread, but indeed your updates as far as your process are more pertinent in the October thread.
As @mustang85635also mentioned, being an early October filer, it is pretty normal that you haven't heard or received anything yet. August filers are still waiting and a few September filers have started to receive something. My pd date is September 15 and I still haven't received anything...and I'm not freaking out, being impatient yes, but unfortunately it seems USCIS is taking longer. I have been dealing with them for the past year and it seems that is the norm.
I will still make the actions I am allowed to at this point, but before it has been 120 days like some other August person, there is no point in freaking out unfortunately...being upset and annoyed yes... but nothing much  we can do about it, so we have to try to keep our cool and stay positive!
At the end of the day, just like the K1 process was a pain, this one is, but at least we are with our other half. It could be worse, we could still be apart.
Good luck to all my fellow filers whichever month you are at and hoping that we all get something in a more timely manner.

And yes the next mail we gonna receive is the ead/ap card.

    Hello all,
Good news!  We got 2 letters in the mail yesterday approving EAD & AP.   83 days after our NOA1 for AOS.
Didn't check my mail till this morning cuz I had so many groceries going up the stairs last night, lol!  But it shows that it pays to check every day.

    NOA1: September 19th
    Biometrics: October 18th
    Date of Notice: December 6th

Does that mean we'll get his work EAD in the mail next?  Can my husband start working or does he need to wait until that EAD arrives in the mail?
Do we still have to do the interview?

    Thanks,
    Forena
