I was handed an iPad and stylus type thing that I used to write on the iPad. I forgot how to spell Lincoln and failed the first time. He let me have another go. It was very embarrassing.

Hello All my N-400 Family members on VJ: I've created my own N-400 & Oath experience and posted it on my Youtube channel, please watch this for tips, like and please subscribe to help me grow to create more helpful videos like these:
Your video reminded me of the written part with the pen. My hand writing is terrible, I also forgot how to spell Lincoln and failed the written test the first time and had to write a different sentence lol definitely recommend studying the written stuff too. I’m a native English speaker and stupid me didn’t think to research any of the written test. Definitely take that seriously lol

Got notice that oath ceremony was scheduled can’t see the date yet.
are you not allowed bring family still?

Uscis Approved my N-400 today. Just waiting for the oath ceremony. 2-6 weeks wait time I’m told.

Im applying with an outstanding I-751 I haven't heard anything about a combo interview. Does anyone know if they contact applicants and advise them of this? Not sure if I should ask my wife to take the day off work if its gonna be a waste. Also does anyone have any experience of what happens if they don't conduct a combo?

Had my interview today at the Los Angeles County Field office in DTLA. Got 10 questions even though I answered the first 6 correctly. 😄
Oath ceremony will be on Tuesday next week, March 16. Got the Oath Notice in hand before I left the field office right after the interview. I will also have a name change.
These were the 10 questions I got:
-What are the two parts of the U.S. Congress?
-There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.
-Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
-What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?
-What did the Emancipation Proclamation do?
-What did Susan B. Anthony do?
-Name one state that borders Canada.
-What is the capital of the United States?
-Where is the Statue of Liberty?
-Name two national U.S. holidays.
Reading: Who elects congress?
Writing: The people elect congress.
She didn't ask for any definitions, just went through the N-400 form quickly to see if anything had changed since I filed, and then I had to sign/approve the corrections.
Will post a more indept review in the L.A. thread in a few days for anyone who might be interested.
So happy for you. Our immigration timeline has been sort of similar. Glad we are both coming to a end with our deals with Uscis.

Finally after nearly two years waiting for my I-751 to be decided and a Short 10 months N-400 process compared. We finally got notified of a scheduled interview. Hopefully it’s a combo. Info pass yesterday the agent said it would be. The end is finally in sight. This was a long process I was certainly not one of the lucky ones with my timeline.
Interview is scheduled for April 7th no update on whether it’s a combo. I will assume it is for now and bring my wife and stacks of documents.

Updated my I-751 and N-400 applications with my new home address recently. The I-751 status previous to my address change had the status “as of 29th of May 2019 your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.” Now instead it says “as of 23rd of February 2021 your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.” What the heck I hope it hasn’t been dumped to the back of the queue because I changed my address.

Bio appointment today. Case completion status jumped 12 months to Jan 2022. Oh well it’s only been 9 months what’s another 12 months of waiting.
-
Just seeing this post after searching for other people in Salt Lake City. Check my time line. Applied to remove conditions in May 2019 and it’s been waiting for an interview since April 2020. I applied for citizenship May 2020 and they will take my finger prints end of January 2021 which is over 8 months after I applied. Things are moving very slowly for my wife and I.
-
Finally got my biometrics rescheduled for a better time. Actually thought uscis was very efficient today. I called them complaining and they had a tier two call me back within 1 hour and before the call I got a nice little follow up email with some helpful information about the call back. Hopefully once they take my fingerprints it will move things along quickly.
-
My case estimated completion time moved back one month. the timer on the estimated wait time is working again. Saying movement in the next five months. No biometrics taken yet. Kinda weird that it started working out of the blue again it hasn’t worked in 8 months. Hopefully some movement on my case

I submitted my N-400 in May this year and finally got my Biometrics appointment for 28th of December. The only thing is, I will be out of the state for the Christmas break. I called the USCIS and asked to speak to tier two and the agent put a request in. Tier two never called me back, but sent an email instead. I've included a screen shot as you can see it states my appointment was cancelled, i'm really worried because this is not reflected in my online status which just says biometrics appointment scheduled. On the same day I originally called USCIS, I sent a cancelation notice to BPU by snail mail. Im starting to worry that because my status has not changed or they have not rescheduled me that I will be denied and will have to start all over again. Does anyone have any data points on rescheduling because all I can find with searching the forum is stuff from people who are frantic due to covid canceling appointments.

Thanks for the update. Just sent an online message. Hopefully better luck as calling even when I get through to a person has not proven to be successful. Fingers crossed.
Oh pro tip make sure you don't have any travel booked in the next six weeks because USCIS will find out and book your appointment during that travel. LOL My appointment is now smack bang in the middle of a trip to Florida I have for Christmas break. I will need to go beg them to let me in earlier to complete my appointment.
-
Sent uscis an email on the 9th of November asking for the status of my biometrics appointment. they replied today by scheduling me for one the end of December. I guess they won’t reuse my previous information that was only taken a year ago.
-
Any idea how you can talk to these clowns at USCIS their phone system is totally different now and it keeps hanging up on me. Ive tried forcing it by pressing 0 multiple times and asking for an agent but it never works.

Isn’t the fees increasing this month?
-
Congrats 🥳
we applied 19 months ago and still are waiting. Uscis certainly is not predictable.
-
Less people filling But wait times increase. Maybe as many as 60% reduction in case load and this bunch of bureaucratic idiots are only increasing timelines. I’m starting to think this whole agency is a scam and wait times are inflated artificially. They got caught fudging their numbers too. Screaming about deficits in the budget and turned out they ended up with a surplus and having to delay a planned furlough God only knows what all that smoke and mirrors was about. I know the brighter college grads end up in private industry and the weaker or less bright types end up doing careers as civil servants but this organisation appears to be run by a bunch of Incompetent clowns.
-
My estimated case completion has just increased by a month. June 2021 instead of May, things are moving backwards instead of forward.

When checking the old USCIS case status page, is anyone else receiving the message "user defined error"? This only happens when checking the N-400 case status. Case status for i-751 is the same as the new USCIS case status site.
For reference, our N-400 case number begins with IOE.
Yes this is happening for me too. My case number for my N-400 is not working on the old site or the app anymore.

Why are people so scared of interviews? Really not that bad... I wish I cld see atleast that but that’s status update doesn’t mean than an interview would be scheduled... a lot of people have reported getting that update n then the next update is the approval and the card being produced.
Not scared of interview. Just sick of waiting And worrying about having a driving license and job because my 18 month extension letter will expire in February and know interview will add so much time onto case. My last update was 2.5 months ago I’m assuming it will probably be a long time until they get around to my interview.

I just got a status update today for RFE. Actually kind of surprised as I'm not sure what they will ask for
it took over a year just to get an RFE.. lol
Would rather an rfe over my status update of “ case is ready to schedule for interview “ atlest yours will probably get approved without interview god knows when I will get interviewed.

Got the big day tomorrow. My wife keeps calling it my inauguration ceremony which is kind of hilarious, also I’m so sad I can’t have guests at the ceremony. I’ll be busy afterwards applying for passport, voting registration etc. Can’t believe it’s finally over.
