  1. Anyway, I arrived in the park area just outside the Embassy at around 10:30, so I had an hour to kill, panicking to my best friend over the phone and trying to calm down. Once 11:30 hit, I made the short walk over to where I guessed the entrance was, and saw there was a white tent outside the embassy, with the mention of visas running across the top (I can't remember the exact wording, but I knew that's where I had to go). I queued behind a gentleman and waited for a few minutes whilst a lady at a small portable stall took my original embassy letter (The one they send you when the case is first sent to the London Embassy), and my passport. I was then told to wait outside a small greenhouse looking building, where Security would see me through. They don't let you inside until they've checked your passport and letter, and then they do a scan or your bag, and you walk through a metal detector, a very similar process to how the airports do it. Once they clear you, you're let through another glass door, and you're finally in the gates to the Embassy (Still outside the main building however). I followed the path round, and there is a stair case that leads to a small reception inside, to which a very friendly lady looked at my letter, issued me a number, and told me to take a seat in the waiting area.

    Hey,

Im just wondering what letter you are talking about. I have the email I got after I scheduled my interview and paid the fee. I never got a letter from the embassy. My fiancee got an email that included the packet 3 information. Can you expand on this point please.

  2. That'd be unreal if I could get it that early, we she called the NVC today but no luck. We haven't even received the hard copy of the NOA2 yet so still early. How long were you waiting between receiving your approval and the embassy sending out your packet 3?

Utah is a place I'd like to go, going to college there would be class altogether.

It took 11days for the NVC to receive it from uscis, it left the NVC for Dublin three days later and the embassy received it within 7 days and sent my fiancee the packed 3 the same day by email. There was a US public holiday so I'm sure that held it up slightly. I've looked over most of the Irish K1 timelines and they're all pretty similar to my timeline.

  3. That was seriously short notice they gave you for your first interview, I hope that happens to me too. I'm gonna get her to call the NVC today in the hopes we can get our number from them.

I was lucky enough to spend last Christmas over there too, so fingers crossed I'll get my interview date early November. What part are you going to be living in?

Also i didn't have any vaccination record and all I got was tetanus and MMR. He also asked had I had chickenpox. I had it before so no injection needed.

We will live in Utah and I'll attend the university of Utah for business and marketing.

Remember they won't give you an interview date until you have your medical results in your hand. If you show up for interview without them they will cancel on you. I checked again and there is space on the 1st of November I'm sure if you get your medical done on the 19th you will be well able for that date on the 1st of November. Fingers crossed.

  4. Jesus, I can't wait for this.. Were you up to date with your vaccinations? I have mine October 19, so there's a bit of a wait. Seems like you're over the worst of it in terms of paperwork and waiting around to hear back from people.

Haha I'm sure you will be grand. It just isn't the most professional or caring environment they literally treat you like a number and a piece of meat. I've had better treatment from a bum on the street or some assistant manager in Tesco.

I sent off my notice of readiness today and get an appointment for Monday the 26th of September. There's no chance I can get that day off so mailed them and literally two mins later the phone is rining and it's the embassy asking me why I submitted my notice of Readiness when I'm not ready. I had to tell her that I couldn't take a whole month off work on the off chance they might schedule an appointment, 1 working days notice is way to short. Thanks for the quick interview but I'll have to reschedule. I'm down for the 18th of October.

That's crazy that the medical place is working a month behind now. I know the embassy have November interview dates so I'm sure you will be getting one. I think they interview every Monday and Tuesday at 1pm that's what I was able to work out from the calendar they gave me access to when scheduling my date.

We're nearly there Christmas with my babe will be so sweet this year and I wish it for you too buddy.

  5. I had the pleasure of doing the medical in Dublin today 470 dollars but whose counting. I've never been made to feel more uncomfortable in my entire life. Pricked and prodded and judged as defective. I'm over weight so the nurse assistant had a go at that and she said I had high blood pressure only for the doctor to take it again and correct her that infect my blood pressure is fine.

I was arrested in Ireland for being drunk in public over 7 years ago and he was really interested in that. He wrote a whole paragraph on it. No charges and I was never convicted, I'm a non drinker for 4 years for religious reasons no substance abuse problems at all he didn't care about that either.

Then asked me to pull my trousers down so he could hold my balls. Haha this visa thing just keeps getting worse. What will they ask of me next?. Oh just 425 euro and the coldest experience I've ever had in a medical practice.

Seriously can't wait for this Visa business to be over so I never have to think of Visas and embassies again. We are Only staying in the US for 3 years at most for school then we will move back to Ireland and live here. So much hassle.

  6. Here's the check list from the Irish embassy if thats any help to you. You must have the medical results in your hand before you can book your interview. So If any Irish people are reading this book your medical quickly because there is about a 3 week wait and you have another 4 week wait for interview afterwards. This way of doing things is crazy.

    Checklist.

To prevent unnecessary delays during your interview, please arrange your documents in the following order:

    • Valid Passport

    • Sealed Medical exam.

    • 2 color passport-size pictures (5 cm X 5 cm or 2 inch X 2 inch).

    • Confirmation page of the electronic form DS-160.

    • Birth Certificate, English translation and a photocopy.

    • Marriage Certificate, English translation and a photocopy.

    • Divorce Certificate (If applicable), English translation and a photocopy.

    • Police Certificates from Ireland and other countries of previous residence for more than 6 months.

    • Court / Criminal (If applicable) records and photocopy.

    • Military records (If applicable) and photocopy.

    • Evidence of Support (I-134) and photocopy of IRS transcript or photocopy of the most recent Federal income tax return.

  7. Dublin embassy are being a hard pill to swallow today. We received our packet 3 and sent in our notice of readiness. They wont accept it because we don't have the results to our medical yet. my medical is booked for the 21st of September. The lady called me twice and was very frustrated on the phone with me. She must have been in a really bad mood. Well we will just have to wait a lot longer then we thought.

  8. I was trying to find the average time for NVC received to Case number assigned. I played with the K1 timelines on the Philippine Portal page.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=5&op2=d&op3=1&op4=3&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=Philippines&dfile=No&adv=1

It looks like NVC leave to Consulate Receive is about 4 days.

Our case left the NVC on the 2nd of September and still hasn't arrived in Dublin. :-( Im sure the Labour day weekend added a day or two onto it. Im not worried. I just hope they haven't lost it tho.

  9. Stephen1985,

Yeah, in the same boat here! -_-

So here is what I do (and did while front loading). Go to phone, click "recents", choose "all" and then you will see all your facetime audios and videos listed there. Click the little info sign on the right (next to the call time) and then screen cap each one (skipping the ones listed as today & yesterday. Those you can do in two days when they have the dates appear on them).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks that worked perfect.

  10. Here in the Philippines now and trust me, 6,000 a year will not make a dent in the population. One of the largest exports of the Philippines is their people. They have many overseas workers all over Asia, Middle East and Canada. The money they send back to support their families is a vital part of the Philippine economy. We don't know that much about it in the US because our Government makes it very difficult for a Filipino to even visit as a tourist. Most who leave do so for love, but they love their country and many return with their foreign husbands later to enjoy the life, weather, people and cost of living. Don't forget, their are also thousands of US citizens living in Phil.

Yeah thats only K1's, I'm sure other Visa types are really high too. Here in ireland we have a big Pilipino populations and it's growing all the time. I've always found them to be nothing but pleasant to be around and they're hard workers too. It's so sad that so many have to leave. Ireland was destroyed with migration. Rural parts are under populated. 8 million people lived in Ireland during the 1840's by the 1960's there was only 2.8 million people here.

  11. Reading this link. https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/law-and-policy/statistics/non-immigrant-visas.html You can find out how many K1 visa's your country goes through each year. The USCIS get through around 30,000 a year. Ireland only accounts for 137 of them. The Philippines accounts for 20% of the whole amount of K1's if it keeps going the way it is there will be nobody left in the Philippines only tourists left. Huge amount of outward migration from the Philippines, it reminds me over Ireland in the 60s and 70's.

  12. So do we have the book the medical through them then? I thought you got a list of approved places where you could have it done.. Sounds like a complete money racket.

Yeah man, Dr Ian O'Grady in Blackrock clinic is the only one in Ireland that does it. Monopolistic price setting haha. I live 5 mins walk from the embassy and Blackrock is a 5 min drive so it's handy for me. But I feel bad for people in Cork or Kerry

  13. Thanks. Do you think we can call now? Ours got approved on 23rd and got the paper on 27th.

I would say leave it a few more days maybe Friday. they might have it. But it's up to you. They're very helpful when you call them anyway. usually takes between 10-15 mins to get through.

Side note the lady today told me they only create a case number and then ship it to your selected embassy, they don't do any background checks at the NVC. This is why they probably get through the whole thing so quickly. Background checks are probably done by the embassy.
